This is why the right often wins despite being against the best interests of 50% of the people who vote for them: the left can see and readily acknowledge the faults in the party they vote for and strive for something better. Not that Labor is "left" at all, their biggest problem is they never strive to be good, just better, and when the opposition is the literal worst, better is not a high bar.

Plenty of time to launder those $$ yet, I think. Looking at the AML Bill today it seems the key bits won't take effect until March or July 2026. I could be wrong, but perhaps we'll see the property market goosed next year before the cops arrive at the party (or maybe the party will move to another back room). I am just annoyed that after the amazing job those senators did with thwarting the MAD bill, they would then go and ruin it, by giving the government an excuse to boot them out of voting on the U16 bill - which was the one they really wanted to get through. Whether this was by design or by default is anyone's guess.
