      Lidia Thorpe was only censured over her protest against King Charles but was SWIFTLY followed by a suspension for her confrontation with Pauline Hanson. The suspension conveniently aligned with the passage of critical legislation, including the contentious age verification bill, which Thorpe opposed. Given her removal eliminated a dissenting vote during a guillotined session, it strongly suggests a calculated maneuver by Parliament to suppress opposition. This kind of procedural exploitation undermines democratic accountability and exposes the underhanded tactics sometimes employed in Australian politics.
      Makes you wonder what gets talked about behind closed doors.
      I agree, the corruption is out of hand.

    Lidia Thorpe was formally censured for her protest targeting King Charles but faced immediate suspension after clashing with Pauline Hanson in the Senate. This suspension conveniently removed her from voting on key legislation, including the age verification bill, which she opposed. The strategic timing of these actions-combined with the use of guillotining to force bills through-suggests a deliberate effort to sideline dissent and push through contentious measures. It’s a stark example of procedural tactics being used to stifle opposition in Australian parliamentary processes.

    I just wonder about this money laundering through dumping money into buying properties well in excess of most Australian’s aspirations or ‘means’- then often the buildings remain unoccupied for years.

    This is why the right often wins despite being against the best interests of 50% of the people who vote for them: the left can see and readily acknowledge the faults in the party they vote for and strive for something better. Not that Labor is "left" at all, their biggest problem is they never strive to be good, just better, and when the opposition is the literal worst, better is not a high bar.
    I hope that didn't sound like criticism, I meant it as the opposite, lest you end up like Friendly Jordies.

    Plenty of time to launder those $$ yet, I think. Looking at the AML Bill today it seems the key bits won't take effect until March or July 2026. I could be wrong, but perhaps we'll see the property market goosed next year before the cops arrive at the party (or maybe the party will move to another back room). Yes, it was a disgusting spectacle I watched last night; two wings of the same vulture trashing essential democratic processes.

    If Thorpe is so dense as to neatly play into the hands of the so-called "uniparty", then I think it's safe to say she not worth the seat she occupies. Being a rebel is not useful if you aren't smart enough to actually get stuff done. You're just a convenient nuisance to heap blame upon.

    I am just annoyed that after the amazing job those senators did with thwarting the MAD bill, they would then go and ruin it, by giving the government an excuse to boot them out of voting on the U16 bill - which was the one they really wanted to get through. Whether this was by design or by default is anyone's guess.

    Kerry Packer once said and I quote with some license. "if you are going to legislate a new law then repeal an old one". All these new laws don't seem to be making the country any better?
    On Lidia Thorpe, is the raised finger an ancient Aboriginal expression of kinship? I'm unfamiliar with the term.

    If you can think of nothing logical to add to the arguement, just throw some abuse! How childish and inappropriate for our national representatives! Sack the babies or provide a naughty corner, Pauline has the right to a safe workplace! Nobody has had the opportunity to read this paperwork first, how odd! How do they keep track of which international owns what and what incentives they received - why can't we conduct audits, it's our money! 🧐

    • @1ihws
      @1ihws 12 дней назад

      Omg - everyone, including me, an Australian born Australian had the “right” to safe workplace, but I know for fact I sure didn’t get the sort of assistance and support you’re all wanting to keep throwing Pauline’s way! Yet I can’t even get some nong to tell me why they “think” I’m left handed, or why my own children and grandkids can no longer even contact me, or why you don’t/can’t/won’t even allow people to get help, even when they ask for it - but we are supposed to help keep your youtube account monetised?? There really is no end to the sort of bullshit you’ll perpetrate on people/ have perpetrated on people already, who are sitting in their own loungeroom, being asked if they’re in a “safe” place, when they’ve already told you that they’re not! You’re unreal! You scum bags are unreal!

    Before sharing this, I acknowledge that in any profession, there are both good and bad actors. This is only about the bad actors:
    Q: What's the difference between a lawyer and a catfish?
    A: One is a bottom-dwelling scum-sucker and the other's a fish.
