    I am so excited about this review. David we appreciate your comments on the product, and yes this one is a “must have”, this is brilliant. Like many of us, the scotch and soda set was my first coin trick, and now using keys. Well made props and I can carry everywhere.

    I definitely want this. I had a couple of scotch and soda’s by the same company and it’s so good that when I had gone from two to one it somehow got mixed up with a pile of change and I’m still walking around slamming coins onto a tabletop looking for it.

      Heard! I will say though the first scotch and soda set I bought I lost the bag ring to, I find it two months later on a side walk in San Francisco's mission district. That was a mind blowing moment.

    Man, was I bummed out when I missed the first run of this. And just before I saw an advertisement for Scotch and Whiskey, I was watching one of Craig Petty's videos on organic EDC magic. He mentions key magic like Ignition, or his own Gatekeeper effect which is also a key. I thought "man, Scotch and Whiskey would be so much fun to have and bust out at work. It would be more surprising than my usual break room card stuff. Though I still feel most at home with cards. 😅

    Hi David. I heard you say at the 6:00 minute mark that the Deluxe edition comes with 2 sets of gimmicked keys but actually the website says it only contained 1 gimmicked key. Awesome review! I cannot wait for mine to arrive.

    Thank you for the review David, so looking forward to get this (before Christmas?) The minute I saw this on world magic review I lost my key concerns (and the money in the process) 😅 But as you mentioned- a bottle of Whiskey is empty so quickly- THIS can be with you for a lifetime (and with no hangover to fear).

    But Is The Key Thicker Or Look Thicker Then A Normal Key When The Two Are Together ?

  • @kyleleon85
    @kyleleon85 7 месяцев назад +1

    I just received my set and I think the props are beautiful. The only negative I see right off the bat is that the gimmick, when nested, is quite thick for a key. It is literally twice as thick as the brass normal key you receive.

    • @magicorthodoxy
      @magicorthodoxy  7 месяцев назад +1

      perhaps, but it's only a visual thing, you don't let the spectator hold it or compare it with other keys

    I love everything about this. I really want to buy one I just can't afford it right now at $100. I would say it's price is a little steap considering a Scotch and Soda gimmick will cost you about $20. Off topic if you get the chance would you be willing to do a review for How To Read Minds Kit #2. I saw your review for the first HTRM kit and I got that one but I can't find a good review outthere yet for the HTRM kit #2. Thank you and have a blessed day.

    A small correction and tip for those who may still be in the market for a Scotch & Soda set. Some manufacturers did try to improve on it and imho failed miserably although these alternative versions are still being sold.
    The older version locks tightly and is more examinable. The newer version does not fit tightly such that one part rotates and even spins freely in the other part and can't be handed out.
    This flaw could be fixed with a minor design change but I have been unable to persuade a manufacturer to work on it. In theory it could fix a discrepancy in the original as well.
    Anyone who has had a coin collection as a kid (or adult) knows the fronts and backs of U.S. coins are stamped 180° from one another - when you are looking at the heads side rightside up, the tails side is upside down and vice versa. No version accounts for this and the assembled gimmick has this tell.
    Now I know it is hard to argue with 50+ years of success with the original construction, BUT if further improvement is possible, why not?
    So if you don't hand out the assembled gimmick either current version will work, and the reset is quicker with the newer version. Otherwise, I'd "stick" with the original.
    The key obviously doesn't have these problems and is a wonderful advance.
    Great review!

    Hi David. I already saw multiple reviews for this product but this is the first time that I saw up-close the back portion of the s**ll together with the G/S key. Before, I assumed that the gap is invisible just like the "magic matchstick". But based on the clip on your review, the gap is visible. Anyways, I hope mine will arrive before Christmas as promised. 😊

    • @magicorthodoxy
      @magicorthodoxy  9 месяцев назад

      you gotta "really" look close - and in a lower lighting area it would be virtually indetectable

    • @jedM123
      @jedM123 9 месяцев назад +1

      @@magicorthodoxy I agree. Maybe I noticed the gap because I was looking for it. But for the layman, what they are looking for is the vanished key. So maybe they will not really notice the gap.
