Kodi is 1 of 25 prodigious musical savants in the entire world. He hears a piece of music once and he can play it on the piano perfectly. He also has perfect pitch. He began playing the piano when he was only 2 years old. He's able to sing music in 6 different languages and plays a number of different instruments. He has also picked up tap dancing. He has performed all over the world - before he was on AGT and has performed at Carnegie Hall. It's where he is autistic that brought out the musical genius in him...being blind only heightened it. He's so absolutely amazing.
Singer Kodi Lee got a coveted Golden Buzzer for his performance for Simon's “Bridge Over Troubled Water.” Lee is blind and has autism, and brought the judges to tears with his performance. Judge Simon Cowell said Paul Simon never gives permission for anyone to sing the song, but allowed Lee to perform it after seeing his audition.Cowell publicly thanked the icon for stepping up. "I want to thank Paul Simon, who never really gives permission for anyone to sing ('Bridge Over Troubled Water') because it's very precious to him, and he gave (Lee) clearance within 30 minutes." Season 14 winner, Kodi Lee, returned to the America's Got Talent stage once again during August 24's Live Results Show. And he reminded us all of exactly why he won. The musical prodigy, who is blind and has autism, played the piano while singing Journey's 1981 classic "Don't Stop Believin.'" Backing him up on guitar was none other than Journey founder himself, Neal Schon, while soul artist Teddy Swims accompanied him on vocals.
It is a massive honour to be given permission to sing a song that doesnt really get allowed a lot so well done to Paul for allowing it. I havent seen the performance myself but it is on my list to do and I love the song so I am looking forward to it. And Dont Stop Believin has just been added :)
Awesome reaction to an awesome performance! Another great audition is Mandy Harvey on agt 2017, she's actually deaf - pretty incredible how people can still find the enjoyment and warmth in music despite being in such circumstances!
I saw that AGT show when it originally aired and I have seen dozens of reaction videos of Kodi's audition, and everybody, without exception, has the same reaction that I did, the same reaction the judges had, the same as the entire audience had, and have no doubt all of the people watching the broadcast like myself had. It is such a good message, and gives everyone such a good feeling. It is a treasure, and so is Kodi. P.S. it resonates particularly with a lot of people like myself because it is a shortened version of the iconic masterpiece composed by one of the all time great musical artist/composer/arranger, The Mater of Space and Time, Leon Russell. Kodi is one of over 200 artists (and counting) to cover the song, more than the incredible number that have covered Russell's "This Masquerade".
That was awesome from Cody a wonderful young man with a great gift for music so proud of him.shout out to you for taking on anew family .done it myself with my daughter when she was 1 she's now 42 unfortunately the wife is no longer with us. 🙂
Thank you and Cody certainly was incredible in this. It doesnt take blood to be a father, I bet your daughter loves you unconditionally regardless of whether you are her biological father or not.
I honestly couldnt believe my ears when I heard this. From the difficulties speaking to belting out this amazing rendition just blew me away. There will always be trolls, people online who say nasty things because they can hide behind a screen. Others will always come to the rescue though.
I know what you're talking about! My cousin is blind, and she can tell you things about footsteps that would blow your mind. She knows what kind of shoes you are wearing, how heavy you are, and what direction you are coming from.
Many will not take on a wife with children, kudos to you for actually accepting 2 blind children. You may not cry but you have a big heart. Speaking and singing come from different areas of the brain. Mel Tillis could not speak a sentence without severe stuttering but sings like an angel. I have seen people with advanced Alzheimers that did not know their name but could sing all the words to many songs. Kodi also did You Are the Reason on AGT. He is on this season of AGT Allstars and did Biblical by Calum Scott. I did watch to hear your story. That is what I want from reactors!
Thank you Debbi that means a lot. I think a lot of people underestimate the differently abled until they are able to do something to blow your mind like Kodi did here. I look forward to watching more of his performances from AGT as well as checking out some of his original stuff. As for Mel Tillis I cant say I have heard the name. I will certainly be checking that out :)
The thing I don't like about both AGT and BGT is, when one of them presses the golden buzzer, the other judges say congratulations to them. I am thinking "WHY, ALL THEY DID WAS PRESS A BUTTON"
He certainly is an inspiration to all of those out there who dont believe they can achieve certain things in life. Its people like Kodi that prove anything is possible.
You not being a cryer, is probably good, because you're not going to fall apart (emotionally) everytime the boys have an accident. You will be stronger to help them and help your wife. She was very lucky to meet and marry you.
My Nf brother! I apologize I just assumed for some odd reason in my head that you would have seen this, but you just watched my hands down favorite audition on any show to this date sir!! Thank you for your story, and putting your self out here like this. Man I’m still hoping that I can turn some things around and get this physical therapy knocked out and back with my family. Car wreck, confined in bed for 7 months now. Sorry brother for rambling, I enjoyed yours so much I didn’t want you to be alone! Lmao. Looking forward to your Nf journey boss, cause he’s been a big help with his writing!!
Sorry to hear about the car wreck. I wish you all the best in your recovery journey and hope that you will be back up on your feet in no time. It is good to open up sometimes and talk about things you wouldnt normally talk about with others. It can be like a little weight off. This audition done that because I take care of my two step sons and sometimes wish I could do more for them to give them a better life... My next NF video will be All I Have and I really enjoyed it, quite a few points in there that got me thinking and talking. That will be on the channel soon.
A few family members tried to talk me out of getting with my wife because of her home situation but that made no difference to me. I fell in love with her and I knew she came with baggage and I had no problem with that. It took a bit of getting used to with their routines and everything else involved like hospital stays, operations etc but we really are one big happy family. My wife got a chance to go to work which is something she never thought she could ever do and I have had a chance to stop working and focus on being a father (and a RUclipsr lol). Truth is I love being a family man and wouldnt want it any other way. When it comes to crying that does help in situations where there are accidents but she wife would still love for me to cry lol
He is the male version of Susan Boyle. Except the judges looked on her with scorn and disbelief, because she didn't have special needs. They just thought badly of her. Then she shocked the world.
There were a lot of REALLY nasty people on Twitter, who either said he didn't have autism and wasn't blind or he was lip syncing. They got their just desserts from other Twitter users.
I'm sure you will get to it on your own, but his performance of "Bridge of Troubled Water" later on AGT is really next level. I have another teenage female singer that you have to check out who is on the same level as Angelina, Morrisette, and Lara whom you already seem to love reacting to. Her name is Lucy Thomas and the video with the most views is "Hallelujah" which I will link, but feel free to look over her channel for other songs you like as they are all great. ruclips.net/video/4hjgkvuKES8/видео.html
I didnt know he sung this, I really do like this song so looking forward to it. I do plan on watching all of his AGT performances very soon. As for Lucy Thomas I have never heard of her but Hallelujah will be a great start for me because I love that song. Thank you for the suggestion :)
For you to take on a woman with 2 children who are blind, makes you a very exceptional person indeed. Most men would run a mile. 🙂

Aaaawww I love Mandy ❤❤

You saying WHAT THE HELL, was my response too. I was shocked.
thnx daz, have not seen this in awhile this is just pure joy for what this young artist loves to do, entertain us .
It is such a heart warming video to know what music does for him but at the same time its a OMG video because he has a real talent.
Kodi Lee also sings bridge over toubled waters. So good
That was awesome from Cody a wonderful young man with a great gift for music so proud of him.shout out to you for taking on anew family .done it myself with my daughter when she was 1 she's now 42 unfortunately the wife is no longer with us. 🙂
Thank you and Cody certainly was incredible in this. It doesnt take blood to be a father, I bet your daughter loves you unconditionally regardless of whether you are her biological father or not.
I love your reaction and how authentic you are. Thanks for sharing..
I watched Kody's audition and him winning on Netflix as the programs aired.
I honestly couldnt believe my ears when I heard this. From the difficulties speaking to belting out this amazing rendition just blew me away. There will always be trolls, people online who say nasty things because they can hide behind a screen. Others will always come to the rescue though.
I have enjoyed listening to your talk about your 3 step children and your daughter 🙂

The song that was at the end, he also performed it in the semi final
I look forward to that when I watch the rest of his AGT performances.
@@Dazza010 He also performs that song with Leona Lewis in the celebrity finale
Great Video Choice to share to your viewers. Specially those who have never heard of him (like me😍).
What an Inspiration to the World💕
He certainly is an inspiration to all of those out there who dont believe they can achieve certain things in life. Its people like Kodi that prove anything is possible.

Do more of his agt performances
Kodi actually won AGT.
That doesnt surprise me one bit.

That was a good reaction.
You should see his video for his new song he helped write called "miracle"
I have Miracle on the list and so expect it soon :)
I listened to your whole message 🙂

Kodi is AMAZING, he's just released an original song called miracle you should check out 💯💯👍
He certainly is amazing and thank you for this. Have to check this one out.

Watch him sing you are the reason
Just a reminder - Courtney Hadwin AGT 2018
She is coming very soon to the channel :)
👍🏼
He is a musical savant being some type of savant comes with autism

That last pause before he sang, generated the rightful dislike!
Sorry you felt that way Joe. If you see more of my videos you will know that I can be quite chatty and usually have very bad timing lol.
:)
