I just figured out that NCT has units, that’s why in 1 video I saw all of the members & then in the other videos I only saw some. That explains a lot, especially knowing that they have 18 MEMBERS...Sheeshh 😓

YUSMB Tigers are the representative animal of Korea...like the bald eagle is to America kinda. That's why you'll see a lot tiger imagery throughout Kpop. Even BTS' "Idol" has a tiger for that reason. Tigers as tattoos or on clothing in videos is more common symbolism

NCT really isn’t all that hard to understand once you get the hang of it. i’ll try to keep it simple haha.
NCT’s concepts are world domination and limitless members. they have members from Korea, China, Japan, Thailand, Canada, the US, and soon to be Germany. they, as a whole, are a total of 18 members (soon to be 21 once a new unit debuts), and they split into smaller groups, or subunits.
NCT U is known as a rotational unit. they have no fixed members. the members change every comeback, that’s why in every NCT U music video the members aren’t the same. the members chosen for each comeback are the ones who fit the concept the most.
NCT 127 started with 7 members at debut but now has 10. they’re arguably the most popular and the most active unit.
NCT Dream are the younger members. once the members reach age 19 internationally, they graduate and leave the unit. since part of NCT’s concept is limitless members, new young ones will keep cycling in.
NCT China or NCT Vision is the unit yet to debut. it’ll consist of four of the Chinese members and three new rookies.

xylyan what part of what i said implies the members are useless? lmao i legit only explained their concept and how the units work, not what each role each member plays or anything specific. my explanation had nothing to do with production or choreography ... i’m confused as to where you got any of that from because it was irrelevant. all groups have choreographers and producers from the company that help out, so i don’t understand what you’re getting at. Mark and Taeyong from NCT contribute in writing and production, possibly more that we don’t know about, if that answers your question.

When I first heard of kpop I thought it would be a lot of cringey music like Gangnam style, but now I realized I judged kpop and kpop is awesome and there are SO many genres and different kinds of idols and rappers which really surprised me

ohmygahd not for us maybe, but for someone new to them, and can get confused by the name or even looks, it will be hard. Personally I have been into kpop for god knows how long, and it was pretty easy to understand and differ between the units :)
NCT has different units :
Nct 127 : unit based in Seoul
Nct U : Rotational group where members change according to concepts
Nct Dream : a unit where all the members are teenagers (once they hit 20, they leave this unit and joined the other units)
So total there are 18 members but they will keep on adding more members each year. This coming 2019 there will be 21 members hehe (3 newmembers will join !)

Nct has currently 18 members as a whole. This 'Unit' with all of them is named NCT 2018.
Then there is NCT 127 they have 10 members: Taeyong, Doyoung, Johnny, Jungwoo, Mark, Haechan, Taeil, Yuta, Jaehyun and WinWin
NCT U is a Unit where the members are picked after the concept. So for Baby dont stop it was Ten and Taeyong. So everyone can be choosen
NCT DREAM is a minor group. Once they get 20 they will 'graduate' from this Unit and continue in another Unit. The group members are: Haechan, Jaemin, Jeno, Haechan, Jisung, Chenle and Renjun.....
Mark graduated from NCT Dream this year.
It is also possibel to be in more than one Unit. Mark was in every Unit...
Kun is the only on who hasnt debuted yet...

NCT is from SM which is arguably the most successful and influential music label in Korea. NCT as a whole has 18 members and their concept is very international (as a whole they are fluent in 5 languages) and expansion so new members can be added. they’ve been active since 2016. NCT is divided up into 3 units: NCT 127, NCT U, and NCT dream and each unit has diff concepts and there are members that are in multiple units. The analogy that many nctzens use is that nct is like a magazine with NCT 127=vogue Korea, NCT dream=teen vogue, NCT U=special edition. The only project that currently includes all members altogether is NCT black on black. Below I’ve added some recommended guides I think that getting to know the members seems impossible for new fans but it’a really not that hard with the right guides and it’s totally worth it bc to me NCT has super unique concepts and songs and the members are so hilarious and fun to watch. PS NCT China (unit with all Chinese members) is set to debut soon and is expected to contain three new members which will make NCT as a whole 21 members. PPS PLS keep in mind that with so many members guides are relatively longer but that why I included what I think is the most well produced/condensed one.

this was a great reaction!! nct as a whole is such a great group & i vibe with them so hard. their entire concept is so unique and they're unafraid of tryin out new sounds despite the fact that people try n drag em down for it. overall they're also some of the best dancers in kpop right now & they're only a two year old group like.. they're goin places for sure & i cant wait to see it! still waitin for that nctour tho im ready to give em my money!!

Actually NCT aren’t as popular as most people assume they are. Their international fanbase is bigger than their korean one.
Actually their Korean fanbase are the same level as GOT7 in SK (lately) but the problem is their SK fans didn't hype them so much, NCT has amazing fanbase so far so the only thing NCT need right now is just a hit song, curious what SM planned for them next year
