lol. My brother and sister skied there with my dad in the 70s, and I grew up skiing there in the 80s, and was an instructor and racing coach there in the 90s…. I was there through all of the upgrades and expansions… And they *still* haven’t upgraded that chair. 🤣

@@TheBudLab lol according to your video, it's still as sketchy as it was literally in the 70s! 😂 I was a Norquay regular from the mid-80s through about 1993, worked there every weekend for the last few of those weekends, and was on that lift every ski day. It blows my mind that with all of the upgrades and expansions in the early 90s, 2 new base lodges, new ownership of the mountain (I think twice in the time I was there and I believe again since), and I heard more upgrades since..... every other chair on the Big 3 ski hills replaced... and that chair is just still there, stuck in a 1970s time warp. This makes me laugh. AND, in all those upgrades, when Norquay became "Mystic Ridge and Norquay," it got the first high speed detachable quad in the rockies... on the same hill.... a few hundred yards away!... But nope. let's just leave that old double right where it is. 🤦🏼‍♂😂

@amsivertson wowowow i love learning about the history of places, thank you!!!! I think they leave it so they can profit off the "cheaper alternative" marketing.
