I prefer the stock radio to, but mine finally gave out a few weeks back,. I'd like to put in another stock unit, but there's no junk yards in my area. And the prices on e-Bay are ridiculous, so I might have to put a Pioneer in it. I noticed you don't have a factory Tachometer, have you thought about getting one? It's simple to do, just grab a cluster with one & swep over your MPH gauge to keep your miles. My 95 didn't have one so that's one thing I did first, and it looks a lot better. You just need to get a cluster from a matching year truck, I think 92-93 goes together & 94-95 match up, then 96 is just for 96's. I found one from a 95 to match my exact year, and everything worked great. I went ahead & added LED's to it while it wes out, and that made a big difference.
@@Blitzkrieg2002 yeah i was not going to buy one off eBay with those ridiculous prices. If I wasn’t able to find one in the junkyard I would’ve left it alone. I haven’t thought much about swapping a cluster, it would be nice to have a tach for sure. I’ll keep that in mind and make sure I look at the other OBS and see if they have tachs in them. Would be a big upgrade and a good video
That was the problem I ran into, my stock radio quit playing cassettes and I didn’t want to pay eBay prices for a replacement so I ended up buying a Sony radio and soldering it in.
@@DrSwoose I’m definitely hanging on to the aftermarket wiring harness in case I decide to go with another radio one day. I think those rebuilt stock ones with Bluetooth and still retain the cassette player are pretty cool. Just so expensive
I've got a near mint one just collecting dust. It was pulled from a 97 my buddy had. I gave him $20 bucks for it. If you give me $20 bucks and the cost of shipping, ill happily send it off your way. Let me know!
I'm not sure if the Ford radios have labeled circuits, but one could install a BT module on the AM side. I've done this with Toyota Pioneers, can't remember if Fords are also Pioneers in this era or not.
