One thing I really like about styropyro is that he will do stuff like go through the trouble of making a poorly edited clickbait thumbnail showing himself getting shot in the hand with a dangerous laser, and in that same video actually shoot himself in the hand with a dangerous laser.

Rule number one of gun safety; it's always loaded.

    • @voltronimusprime3833

      1. Treat every gun as if it's loaded.
      2. Never point a gun at anything you're not willing to destroy.
      3. Keep your finger off the trigger until you're ready to fire.
      4. Know your target and what's behind it.

Make sure you treat your firearms with the same mentality you'd treat a car. You look both ways, you use your mirrors, you use your blinkers, etc etc etc. A car is an extremely fast death machine for the purposes of bettering human life and equalizing human experience, and unfortunately end more human lives per year than they should. Yet, by following certain rules and ingraining important safety philosophies and techniques into your subconscious, you can drive them like second nature.
It is very important to learn how to drive at your own pace until you intimately understand everything you can about how to safely operate the machine. And once you do, have fun driving

And I will say, lathing is a lot of fun as long as you aren't wearing minimal clothes as there WILL be hot metal chips that CAN burn you.
Albiet nude is better than synthetic fiber, as the latter melts to your skin.
There was also a similar bit-stuck-in-metal situation on a drill press, where our best solution was to expand the metal with a blowtorch and wrench it out with pliers. Worked fine though.

Related convos at 2:50 - When I was in middle school they had given me a physical and were scared bc I had large balls lol, but it ceased to be funny really quickly after they said I may have cancer (I did not but it's a hell of a story)

That's how it often goes. People are against it because they see it as dangerous and can't imagine ever needing to deal with that danger...
    ...Until one day you do.

To answer the question on crafts that take time and precision, many people, including myself build Gunpla (Gundam Model Kits). In which case, we go to town on them with custom paint jobs. With the right amount of percision, the build in question can turn into a work of art. Definitely takes time though.

fun fact: 10:07 a laith is super dangerous and can shoot a 17 kg block of steal at over 200 mph right in your face (if you dont do stuff properly), i learned this in factory class in school, and the shaveings sometimes shoot onto the floor to. i watched this vid before going to the line of studdy im in and now when i see this i just think how is this guy alive, so thats funny.
edit: i just now realised that he is no where near the emergensy shut down button
edit 2 (i know cringe, nore safety stuff): my factory teacher ones at his old work, there was a acsident (luckly no one got hurt) where a giant block of steal gor flung into the roof and then fell down, if the people would have just moved a tiny bit 3-5 people would have died, but that is with a mutch mutch larger mashin (sorry for the bad spelling, not a native english speaker)

Nobara needs to get herself a hammer like this, god damn😂
Also, a YTer calledJ Laser Video did something similar to this, but used it to create makeshift Web Shooters that fired really strong nails and used them to swing around kinda like Spider Man.
He recently repurposed the design to create his own version of ODM Gear from Attack On Titan.
