The Area applanated in GAT is 7.35 mm square only. 3.06 mm is the diameter of the prism head. Area of circle with 1.53 mm radius is 7.35 mm square. At 7.35 mm applanation area, pull of tear film surface tension balances out resistance due to rigidity of cornea, hence at that size of applanation, P= F/A
