It’s currently worth it for me because there are some authors I love and my libraries rarely get their books. They also don’t show up on Libby so I either have to buy them or I can read on KU. When my subscription was ending over the summer, they sent me an offer of like $35 off a year subscription so I jumped on it! My hubby also occasionally finds a book he wants to read on KU so he’ll use it too. I think it has its pros and cons so I absolutely understand not having it haha. We also own a lot of physical books and use our libraries, so if I get rid of it in the future I’ll still have plenty of options for reading 😂
I’ve had KU for a few years and really do enjoy it. I love both ebooks & audiobooks from my library (never purchase books as it’s not in my budget). I find KU worth it to me because I don’t like the pressure of having to finish a book in a specific amount of time so it helps that I can keep books until I’m done. Also I find a nice variety of memoirs and medical and animal non fiction KU books that are so good.
I read on my kindle daily. It was just at night, and in bed, but now while on breaks at work. So I'm using it daily, as far as KU, I would need to keep better track of myself to see if I spend to much, or read enough. I use the heck out of Libby, but it is so appreciative when the wait is forever, and I can just go get it "now" to read. I was in bed one evening deciding what to start next. The Housemaids Secret popped up, so I started it, even though the physical copy is on my end table in the livingroom. Wound up never opening my physical book of it because of going through it quickly with bed and work. Definitely a video where you get your books from, and any system you've used but dropped and why.
Yes the wait is hard! And I hate the way Libby makes you return it from the kindle app now instead of returning it from the Libby app! Will do on the video!
I've been thinking about trying Kindle Unlimited to read Courtney Walsh's holiday books and there are cozy mystery series that I'd like to read too that would be a lot more expensive to buy. It might be worth it for me. At least for a few months. I will definitely wait to see the Black Friday deal. Thanks for sharing!
Once I went Kindle, I never looked back. I have not read a physical book in ten years and I read over fifty books a year. Between Kindle Unlimited and my Libby from my library, I haven’t paid for a book except my monthly KU fee and I’ve read every single bestseller that I’ve wanted. I love “shopping” through the KU catalog. The search for the next book is part of my enjoyment.
I love KU because it has a lot of thrillers and extreme horror books that I read and can't get through Libby. They would cost me more if I bought the physical book. Plus I like that I can find many books with the audio included.
I personally can't hold physical books anymore due to my disability. In South Africa, KU works out to about R230 per month. We have to have our Amazon account set to U. S, which I do.
It’s fantastic for me when I am in hospital as I am able to read books 📚 without having to take the books 📚 to the hospital with me love ❤️ it prayers and blessings for you and your husband and your four beautiful girls love your Aussie family friend John xxx
Every couple years I go back and try kindle unlimited again😂😂and then realize again that part of my enjoyment of reading comes from having the physical book!! 😂😂😂I want to look at the cover and touch the pages and use my pretty bookmarks😂😂
Same!! I always get Kindle Unlimited every couple of years when it's like free for 2 months and I always end up not using it lol. I love physical books but I do see the benefit of Kindle books for convenience.
I bought myself a 24 month KU gift subscription but the cost of it went up $100 but I may buy myself a 6 or 12 month KU gift subscription but the price went up too but Libby holds take forever. I love it but I’m ticked about the price hike.
@@AlwaysBooked it used to be if you bought a 24 month KU gift subscriptio the monthly cost was $7.19 now the monthly cost is $10.99 now when the monthl to month cost is $11.99 plus tax. Corporate greed!
I’ve tried Kindle Unlimited and deleted it after a few months. I found that I wasn’t paying attention to the books on there with having so many of my own books and a plethora of library ebooks to read.
I go back and forth honestly. I love my kindle itself for the portability factor, but it does feel bad to spend a bunch of money on ebooks, whereas physical books give me something to show for my money. I just have arthritis in my wrist and garbage eyesight, so ebooks are my preferred. KU just doesn’t always have the best options for actually good books. Most of them aren’t great at all, with a few exceptions of course.
If you are a big ereader it is worth it. For me it is not worth it because like you I do not read alot on my ereader. I am trying to make the switch to ereading but I have a lot of physical books (1,000+) and I need to focus on reading off my shelf. I am a big fan of the library. There are so many authors out there that I don't really miss anything. If it is an ebook that I really want it is sometimes cheaper to just purchase the ebook because some ebooks are less than $10 and then read it whenever you want. I love free ebooks (I need to sign back up for book bub).
I would love a video on where you get your books from!
Ok! I will!
Now me I only read ebooks so it’s worth it for me.
Same and I only read books on kindle unlimited
Definitely would be a good deal if that’s how you do All of your reading!!

Yes!! Sharing kindle accounts with spouses/ family makes it much more worth it for me

Ooh those are genres I need to explore more!

Yes! I’m so paranoid her stuff will go away id need to read it stat! Haha

That’s awesome!! I agree! I could spend hours browsing haha
I love KU because it has a lot of thrillers and extreme horror books that I read and can't get through Libby. They would cost me more if I bought the physical book. Plus I like that I can find many books with the audio included.
The audio is such a cool bonus. Which thriller authors do you like to read?

Interesting!! Thank you for watching from South Africa!
I am tempted to get a new Kindle and unlimited. I prefer the physical book and hardly ever listen to books, but do see benefits! 🤔📚
I am so tempted too! It would be so convenient and nice, but I also just don’t love ebooks
It’s fantastic for me when I am in hospital as I am able to read books 📚 without having to take the books 📚 to the hospital with me love ❤️ it prayers and blessings for you and your husband and your four beautiful girls love your Aussie family friend John xxx
Yeah! 20 books at all times is a big perk💜
@ you deserve a pat on the back from your husband for your reading amount
@@JohnSaxon-vw5vi haha I'll tell him!! :P Thank you!
@ no problem

Yesssss!!!! And knowing how far I am and seeing my progress is so satisfying

@oliviatheresa yep! I get it!
I haven't gone down the KU option and don't plan to.
Good for you!

I agree!! It used to be less than $10/ month easy. $12/ month feels steep. But not waiting is a huge perk.

Yep- too many options. There are some really intriguing books on there, but there’s also a million on the free apps and on my shelf too!

I get it! There’s so many free ways to get books, it’s hard to justify
❤📚📚❤️
One hundred percent physical or Libby audio. I've never owned a Kindle. I can see the benefits, but it's not worth it to me.
You know what you like! I admire it!
@AlwaysBooked Thank you. We all enjoy books in our own way and it's wonderful!!
@starlasell5698 yes!! 💜💜
I think it depends on the type reader you are
Agree.

Yes! I need to see your shelves!!! I am so tempted by the titles on KU but (as you’ve seen from my anticipated) I’m so excited for everything haha
I wasn’t reading enough kindle unlimited books to make it worth it for me
I wish I could read enough to make it worth it because it’s o handy, but I never have
