For those who have a problem with CaLeigha taking James last name. These two are professed Christians and James attitude is biblical. In reading Genesis 2:24 and Ephesians 5:25. I get it. James your explanation regarding your Love and Committment to your wife, is exceptional and so loving. Kingdom Blessings to you both. You both are lovely.❤❤❤
Okay- I told my mom that I wanted to keep my name and not take my husband’s name. She asked me why and I said well I have gone through a lot and I wanted to keep all these experiences and memories of mine with my last name. I am a solid Christian Woman and was caught up in the societal norms of the day. I read Christian books and read the Word of God but none of them answered why I had to change my name. One day I was having lunch with a friend who was getting a divorce and she was so upset because she was losing her husband and her experience just solidified my stance on keeping my name. As we talked, I told her that I was sad that she was getting a divorce and told her when I marry I am keeping my name in case I had a similar situation. Well to my surprise she began to raise her voice at me and asked me why wouldn’t I change my name and I told her because anything could happen and I wanted to protect myself. She looked at me and said I am the reason why we’re getting a divorce- when you marry she said you don’t lose yourself you gain in the relationship- I said but why change your name and she said “ because it creates Oneness” in the relationship. And for me I had received the answer I was looking for. The Holy Spirit used a shattered heart to give me the assurance and answer I had been seeking. Caleigha don’t embrace the society norms- Scripture Verse: John 12:35-37 (meaning-to walk in the light as He is in the light- to share his life and learn His ways).
Like your background for your podcast..and I like and love your channel and the podcast..and I like James ‘s reason for you Caleigha on taking his last name when you marry..because honey it’s traditional..and you are one as he is your KING PRINCE🤴🏼 who loves honors and adores you.. why wouldn’t you want his last name, right?😊❤..Blessings and Be Safe ok😌😊💜🕊️🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🖤🤍🤎🤍
You are doing great with your podcast and I love your flowers ! I see some comments about flowers being distracting what ? They’re beautiful like both of you ! Never get rid of the flowers! ❤❤lots of love to both of you always !
Have you thought about having the wedding at the University of Houston chapel and maybe the reception at a ranch. UH is where your relationship began and a ranch is where you all want to end up. Maybe a ranch in the family could be used to cut down on costs and just decorate it really nicely.
I love the first setting it was more comfy and warm. With the new setting I would take away the flowers since the plant is in the background. If you are going to use the flowers i would put it in a smaller vase or to the side of either one of you.In today's society you have to live your life for you and not what other people think or will say.
Debating the correlation between a maiden / hyphenated / married surname with Christianity is overreaching at best, but mostly trite when considering how little it has to do with the bigger picture of managing a marriage.
I think if the woman has a high ranking position in a company and she is known by her maiden name she should keep using it. She can use it as a professional name but for everything else she can use her married name. Many years I worked in the admission office at a college and one of the admission staff was promoted to Director of Admissions. She didn't hyphenate it. She used both her maiden name at work and her married name when she was not at work. It worked out for them.
Let me say this to the feminists, women earned the right to choose for themselves, not YOU, not your choice, nor as some assemblage to the cause. I do understand why some young ladies choose to hyphenate their name, when they are defending the paternal line to be carried forth, when there are no males from the girl dads. I do believe Caleigha has brothers to carry that name forward. James stood on business. I respect his vote and his position on the matter.
What’s with all the emphasis on carrying on male names? I personally want to keep mine because it’s my name and has been my whole life… it has nothing to with carrying on my father’s last name. I’m assuming for many other women it’s the same. It’s up to the individuals getting married and no one else’s business
