    You bought *WONDERBREAD???* In Germany?! You better have a good explanation mister!

      Bite into a slice of hearty wholemeal bread or a fresh, crusty baguette and then bite into a slice of Wonder bread, and it’ll be immediately clear that there are *some* major differences at play. Wonder bread has way too much sugar, is impossibly soft and pillowy, even for a sandwich bread or a bread for toasting (in Germany simply called toast, even in its untoasted condition). A fit of homesickness or an attac of childhood nostalgia?

    You know that there are many stores where you get everything "unpacked",, you bring your own glasses, bottles or container? It's a move to avoid waste (especially plastic).
    In respect to inflation: I have made the exact opposite experience. Butter prices are down and others are lower too. But: I don't buy the same every week, I buy what's on sale / offer, and also not from only one store. But that - of course - requires some studying of the leaflets and brochures and then sitting down and planning the week. I do this every Sunday. It really pays off.

    There is a supermarket in Kassel which has exactly that machine, imho it's a great idea to reduce plastic garbage. And the results are such as good as other washing fluids, but it's a little more expensive. I try to produce as less garbage as i can, so i really like the idea. And do yourself and the nature a favor and bring some cloth shopping bags, next time you go shopping, these plastic ones are really bad.

    That looks so strange when you have your grocerys in bags :D I have never seen anyone doing this - only reusable.

    Good idea but I still prefer washing powder as it leaves less residue on the internal surfaces of the washing machine.

      *Toast* root is from _Milkbread,_ which is in german *(Stuttgart)* also to be found in bakerys as *"Milchkapsel"*
      >> *Toast is a Yeast Pastry!* no bread
      _• Why can't be toast a bread?_
      >> Bc of the *missing function(s)* of bread.
      Bread is bread, when it *stills hunger* by it selfe & can be used as *Mainfood, like rice, potatoe etc.* which also means as main protein, minerals, etc. source.
      >> None of the functions of a bread, is within _Toast,_ which is why mainly the things you *put on* _toast,_ shortly fill your hunger & add minerals etc..
      >> The fiber contained in bread in particular makes it a very healthy food. These are the indigestible carbohydrates. They swell up in the stomach and ensure a long-lasting feeling of satiety. So cravings *(Heißhunger)* don't even arise. _Toast,_ has none of this lasting effects, which is after short time you feel hungry again.
      ///
      >> In addition, _Toast_ has no crust, which gives a *bread normaly most of its taste* reason why toast has a _bland taste._
      • To *fake* a bread crust and add a sort of roast aroma, it is _toasted._
      ///
      Toast is like a *red plate with hot water* in, declaring to be tomato soupe while no tomato in.
      ///
      Toast is a *Yeast pastry & no bread!!*
      • Bc toast has none of the function of a bread.

    Never seen those machines before, either! Great idea!
    And yes, prices are ... quite something!
    Do you think military base prices are comparable to US supermarket prices? I have no idea. But that would be an interesting investigation!

    • @TreyDaze
      @TreyDaze  Год назад +1

      We were in Chicago in December and on base prices here in Germany are WAY cheaper. But then again, Chicago is rapidly becoming one of the more expensive places to live in the United States.

  • @aw3s0me12
    @aw3s0me12 Год назад +5

    No. *i am from Stuttgart !!*
    Consumer Prices in Germany are 13.7% lower than in United States (without rent)
    Consumer Prices Including Rent in Germany are 25.4% lower than in United States
    Rent Prices in Germany are 45.3% lower than in United States
    Restaurant Prices in Germany are 22.7% lower than in United States
    *Groceries Prices in Germany are 28.6% lower than in United States*
    You went to one of most expensive shops in germany Edeka & REWE are most expensive shops. But *you did NOT compared* it to one *of the most expensive US shops* but one of the "cheaper/mid" ones.
    ///
    On top the *average 28,6% higher groceries costs in the US,* you have to addon the _Tax_ which is in like 85% of all US states added later on when you pay, which further increases costs.
    By the way, those are the *today* stats.
    Yes inflation STILL is 8+% but *still* with that waaay *cheaper food prices* in germany than in the US.
    Cheers buddy ;)
    >> The US had *over 9% inflation last year* while *we had 7%*
