Thanks for the video. It brought me home. The Los Pinos Trailhead is my most favorite place in the world. Been there several times.

Very sweet! Thank you. I'm thinking of this area for this coming summer (2019).

I wanted to go there last year too, but I had my 12 yr old son with me, and he didn't want to go up the hill and over a bunch of deadfalls on the flynt cr tr. We fished on the pine river upstream and still had a great time. Saw a pair of bull moose too.

@@StarMountainHikes My guess, you'll get him up there one of these summers soon. I live in Colorado and feel so blessed.

That's an epic trip ! I've done the hike to Emerald and on to Moon. I want to do it again and climb the summit above Moon lake for the views. Quite a trip for a flatlander like me.

Absolutely an epic trip! I hit it at the right time for the wildflowers too. I want to take my son, Nate, up to Emerald soon. I have a feeling that the spruce beetles have killed the forest around Flint Lakes, now. I'm sad about that, but I bet the fishing's still good! Thank you for your comment.

Rock Lake is above the moon lakes to the north, now you’re on continental divide. Several lakes

I saw you fished the river, what about the lakes on the way there?

Not sure which lakes you mean. I didn't fish Vallecito Reservoir, but I did fish Flynt Lakes, and Emerald Lakes. They were both excellent fishing.

Los Pinos trailhead to flynt creek trail to the CDT and then back on the emerald lake trail.
