rain water harvesting is the future of earth please educate everybody.....great work .....greetings from Pakistan..... I have worked on the project 8 years ago to facilitate 150000 homes.
Very nicely presented video. Hope this model should reach every rural farmer in our country. Am ready to do my job to promote this in my native Annamayya District in Andhra pradesh. Thank you. We need a big forum and association to reach every village in our country. Let's create whatsapp groups and also association members for promoting this to help the present and next generations. 😊
sir, very happy to see your video. it is very interesting. we have in our house one borewell. during summer the water yielding is almost minimum. the space is limited around the borewell. what can be the minimum size of the pit. what are the minimum kind of materials req. to fill up. whether we can divert water used for kitchen and for bathing.
You can make a recharge pit at another spot too.. better to direct only rooftop water into the recharge pit ... and bathroom waste water into a soak pit atleast 10-15 feet away. A soak pit is a normal 4by4by 4 pit filled with broken bricks. Cover the soak pit with cement. Build the soak pit about 8-10 feet away from your septic tank . A soak pit can take bathroom water as well as water overflowing from the septic tank. Dplz don't confuse a soakpit with a recharge pit.
You can make a big hole to the pipe and divert the filtered rain water through that pipe but tha water should be purified well before recharging no need to have so much Infrastructure with less land
If you are harvesting rainwater from rooftop, just filter it with ordinary rainwater filters and feed it directly to the bore well. We successfully did it in many apartments in Bengaluru. But don't use kitchen and bathroom water for direct or indirect feeding near the well. It can pollute water. But it can be fed to a percolation pit 100 meters away from any well.
Please send this video to odisha govt... Aagar har jamine me kruchi ke liye borwell baneye ge or ground water ko recharge nahi karen ge to delhi ki tara hi hogaa...😢😢
I would say that the job of promoting borewell recharge would be incomplete unless villagers are told to grow cumpulsorily a certain number of trees per acre alongside the borders of their fields so as to ensure enough rainfall Evey year. What if there is no rain and all the pits made to collect rainwater becomes dry in the absence of minimum rainfall? So, let farmers grow tall and useful trees around their farm land. Wherever possible, farmers can collectively raise man made forest in their villages to support animal and bird life and also the eco system.
Good Information Sir ! Can I know what is this Aqua mesh and Nylon mesh ? or where we can procure it from anywhere near Bengaluru ? can I contact any person who can help me with designing the percolation pit (any dedicated members)
We are going to constructed a recharge pit but the problem is digging has reached below the water table. And now it is not possible to close the structure. How will we do that
Are borewell generally located in non rechargable aquifers,if not what the advantage of borewell over open well.Is it possible to recharge a non rechargable aquifer,by this technique, regards sankar
Digging has been done upto blackish clay but suddenly water comes out of the lower layer in force making the condition not suitable to work. Every time we pump out the water, it is again filled in the pit. And we have to construct a recharge pit structure there. any solution to this is highly appreciable
Will your pump run in reverse? My submersible pump has a built in check valve that prevents water from flowing back through the pump. If you have a supply of adequately clean surface water why not just pump it in at the top of the casing pipe? If your surface water is silty think about this. Create a surface pond to collect runoff water. After the rains have stopped give the pond a few days of rest to let silt settle to the bottom. Rig a modest size filter of gravel topped by fabric and sand with a bottom outlet leading to the well casing pipe. Use a small pump to move water from the pond to the well at a rate the well can absorb the flow.
Can you please explain the necessity of having a perforated iron pipe in the project? without the cast iron pipe, can we not just collect the water in the percolation pit and allow it to percolate ?
It will work if the soil below is porous and the available water level is at not such great depth.Otherwise it will take long time to seep down and meet the source of your well to recharge it.The perforations just keep it simpler in that case.
Perforations made on the casing pipe ensures recharge to your well itself. And percolation is fast and to deeper aquifers. Otherwise also recharge happens slowly.
Yes sir. Pit size is decided on the amount of rainfall, intensity and soil type. If the size of the pit is small due to shortage of space, no problem. Some amount of excess water may run off during heavy rains. You can recharge rooftop water. No problem.
If you have attached a recovery line/cable to the pump then you should be able to rig a tripod stand and pulley over the standpipe and pull the pump with a tractor/truck by driving away from the well. If there's a need to move a machine close to the well then lay down some timbers.
It's a good workout. But everything not a jugad... If it's a government approved work then why not built special filter.. Which directly attached on main pipe... Why hides this work for giving respect.... Everyone see this and everyone knows.. No ones against it.. Love it.. Say it....... Yes we are.... The warriors .... Of nature.. .. Sometimes a company arrived and make it dirty money business...
And can I get the contact no. of someone who has done this successfully, so that I can seek necessary clarifications from him. I am in the processe of taking up this kind of work in my farm.
Each and every step is clearly metioned . People are finding excuses why they are not doing this harvesting on their own . And one reason is clarification from directors . Call me i will help u out

Appreciate your efforts for preparing such an excellent video with easy explanation. Thanks a lot
Nice work and we should help other states for RAIN WATER HARVESTING. GOD BLESS YOU ALL.
Thank you
Excellent educational video helpful and informative. Most appreciated.

Good information about Borawell recharging with video very congratulations sir 🎉🎉🎉
Amazing!!! Such a good video.

Splendid sir, may god bless you with good health and prospirty to save the world 👏👏👍
Very good methods for recharging borewell

Kitchen water and bathing water cannot be used if you use you will start polluting the under ground water also

This percolation pit is for runoff water on the ground having mud and other impurities. Not for rooftop water

Govt should take initiatives to recharge all borewells in the country as the water crisis is getting worse every year
I would say that the job of promoting borewell recharge would be incomplete unless villagers are told to grow cumpulsorily a certain number of trees per acre alongside the borders of their fields so as to ensure enough rainfall Evey year. How do trees help rainfall? Have you seen this happen?

Only ayua mesh is sufficient or should we put both nylon and aqua
We are going to constructed a recharge pit but the problem is digging has reached below the water table. And now it is not possible to close the structure. How will we do that
Great concept.Keep rocking you Sir.
Thank you sir, Namaskar.
What if I run rooftop rainwater directly to the borewell, and I will make sure the water is clean.

Can you suggest any one who has done this work in Raigad Maharashtra I need to do this on my land
Sir Can u give me the details of mesh availabity
Thank you very much for this video
Great wok team..! by the way.. will it really cost only Rs.25000 for a pit in the size of 10 cubic feet?
It varies from time to time and place to place
Only labour cost.
Sir where can we get the nylon and aqua mesh at bangalore
Digging has been done upto blackish clay but suddenly water comes out of the lower layer in force making the condition not suitable to work. Every time we pump out the water, it is again filled in the pit. And we have to construct a recharge pit structure there. any solution to this is highly appreciable
Does this filter also filter potential oil spillage from cars in rainwater surface runoff from roads?
Oil floats on water.. U can scoop it up or be dragged by a bouyant rope to the side
Can you please mention the detailed specifications of the two different filtering mesh (nylon?) used.
It is HDPE woven mesh with 1 mm opening. Please search on the internet. One name I remember is Lunia wire Netting Company
@vaasurk84 pretty close I would imagine. Its key function is to filter the surface runoff before it recharges the borehole
Thank.for.guidline.
I don't why farmers are hesitate to follow these steps.
They want the government to do everything for them!
due to lack of awareness and capital, Big B
They not knowing this technique

Waoo useful video
Whenever a new borewell is dug, can't we make it mandatory to have the recharge pit with nylon mesh ?
It is mandatory now for all government bore wells. But everyone knows how the contractors finish government works!
Nice information sir
What is used for filtering water ?
how deep the pipe should go?
ThANKS very much.
Sir,why we provide boulders at bottom and sand at top,we can reverse it na
No. Sand at the top is to filter the water and boulder at the bottom to keep space for the water to stand till it gets percolated
Can i feed the soft water by using pump, directly into borewell?
Yes you can when u know it do bot have any suspended material then u can directly pour into borewell
Yes
Will your pump run in reverse? My submersible pump has a built in check valve that prevents water from flowing back through the pump.

Definitely. You can do it without the pipe too.. the soil down below is naturally loose so water will definitely percolate down. Keep it simple

We can not use any machine to lift the submersible pumps, if pumps got trouble.
Who told you? Casing pipe end is kept open
