SD is one of the most touristy areas of Southern California and a lot of out of state transplants live there. The roads in SD are also very windy and hilly with some canyons. It also gets dark at night so driving at night can be difficult
First - love your videos! I've been watching for a while now and I'll finally be making my move to San Diego in November 2021 (counting down)! I feel a lot more prepared b/c of your videos and I'm targeting renting in downtown. Second - 2 questions: 1. I'm moving from the East Coast (D.C. area) - how early do you recommend coordinating with a cross-country moving company? 2. Does the mello-roos tax you mentioned apply to renters as well, or only buyers? Thanks in advance if you see this and respond. You two are amazing!
Hello you people are doing a great job can you show us more neighborshoods because I google and I saw there are 20 neighborhoods so show us all the neighborhoods in San Diego. Thank you
Hi Guys. Love your videos. I will be moving out there somewhere, haven't narrowed it down just yet. I am a single 59 year young woman, awesome, healthy, vegan, spiritual, yoga, strength training, life loving, walk at least 8 miles a day, with 2 small dogs, hip. I need to be able to walk about: hiking trails, open space, vistas, and within 20 minutes to the beach, which is where my heart is. so i don't need a huge place, but i am an artist, so i kinda would like a garage or a warehouse to operate out of. that being said, on a slight budget. will be renting at first then will be buying in the $500,000 $600,000 range . what are your recommendations. I have lived in Cali before, i have family in san diego and encinitas, so I am familiar, but obviously not that familiar thus reaching out to you. love your vids. super excited. 2021.
Hi Naia, thanks for watching! Well there’s a ton of options here in San Diego. But these are my first thoughts. The area around Balboa Park is super walkable. North Park, South Park. Mission Hills would also be good. If you want to go more North, you could check out the North County beaches - Del Mar, Solana Beach, Encinitas. You can also go a little more inland where it gets a bit more affordable like Carmel Valley, Rancho Peñasquitos. It’ll depend if you want a more urban lifestyle or quieter area. It may me helpful to have a chat so I can hear a bit more of what you prefer.
Moved to North county, Carlsbad area in September, from Ohio...highly recommend families get multiple quotes from moving companies. We also were not aware that our car needed a smog test for registration at the DMV and had to make 2 dreaded visits. Great video as always, thanks!
Depends on your life style. Still looking? If you are young and single, what are your hobbies? For outdoors, try Torrey Highlands, San Carlos, Del Mar, or Black Mountain Ranch. If you like staying inside maybe you're a gamer or smoke some hookah, maybe try Rancho Penasquitos (better for Condos/Homes), Carmel Valley (expensive), or Torrey Pines (expensive). If you want something cheaper try North County. It's at the very North end of San Diego County and stretches from Oceanside, CA to Pala Mesa, CA. It isn't San Diego per se, but it's in the same county and is cheap. I wouldn't recommend living downtown. Serious homeless problem and very expensive for what you get. Low amount of space at $2k-3k 1bedroom rents.
6:15 "slightly" just turned into astronomically

Midwest to southern California for a job. I’m indifferent about it as I’ll be alone, but I know it will be nice
Love all your videos! Very helpful. Could you give the names of the 9 months apartment rentals?
Carmel Creek Apartments in Carmel Valley have flexible leases - or at least they did. I have a list of a few others I'll include here when I find them
😀😀
I’m hoping to move here for school (SDSU), do you know of affordable apartments near the campus?
Downsize folks save $ most the time you’ll want new items when you move anyway unless it’s family heirlooms of course. 🌸
