The robin shop thing is so cool to me because it has this vibe of like a polite local storekeeper who's like "oh let me just do that for you really quickly because I'm right here"
You actually have full access to shop menu at the blacksmith as long as Clint is present anywhere in the building! This usually doesn't come into play until after you get key to the town (though I did once wait in the shop from 4pm to 1am to get him to open some geodes), but it's amazing once you get it! Even if he's asleep he'll do his job!
Yeah I use that trick to upgrade my tools early on. Just gotta go in the building before 4pm. Then you can smelt bars inside so then to upgrade your tool.
The simple, baseline reason for the Robin day off purchasing is the same as the ice-cream horse. The game determines if a store is open or not on if an NPC is in a set range of tiles. Most NPC paths are set so they never enter these areas unless they're supposed to run their store in those hours. Robin's house is just so narrow around the entrance that Robin has to go through her shop range.
@@brickbot2.038 i might be confusing this with something else, but I think it is NOW, I heard he once removed it but ended up bringing it back bc people loved so much it
Clint's also an early bird - instead of sleeping and doing stuff like the other shop owners, he's behind his counter at 6am. So you can visit his shop on fridays before he goes to the CC if you have the key to the town.
I thought it would be a lot easier to find a bunch of jades for staircadrd and go down for a hunt, easily find 500+ irid ores under 130 levels, and way cheaper
"Deluxe soil huge discount" Sandy: 200g Pierre: 150g Umm... Also its worth mentioning Krobus sells a random assortment of Fish on, uh I think Wednesday, which can be handy for community center speed running as you might find fish otherwise unavailable due to season, or just find fish you missed in a season, or maybe you want to have fish ponds of that specific fish idk.
Another cool thing on Thursdays: Mixed seeds from Krobus! Very handy when I needed to harvest 100 Pineapples when I didn't have the seeds for them yet, and for crafting Fiber seeds!
How to get your bang for your buck out of the furniture catalog: Instead of using fences that degrade, use chairs or benches. They don't cost energy to use, and you can put nice decorations between them like potted plants. And it's more changeable than tea sapling fences (it broke my heart when I realized I had to move my "fence". RIP my little tea plants, you were innocent 😭). You can also place tiles under the benches, so you get an extra space of farming land next to your fence.
Saturdays at the Desert Trader you can also trade seasonal forageable seeds for other season’s forageable seeds which is really helpful for completeing the community center in year 1 before winter if you get the greenhouse in fall and plant winter seeds for the snow yam and crocus!
:O I had no idea I didn't have to wait for the movie theatre cooldown if I *don't* see a movie, so when I'm trying to get goodies out of the crane game I can just NOT SEE THE MOVIE if the blocker is there!
I've actually used the omni geode for hay trade. In my save where I was filling a big shed with statues of endless fortune, at a certain point you start to accumulate way, way too many omni geodes. Sure cracking them at Clint only takes travel time and would definitely be worth it, but with that many it's just too much IRL time for too little profit. Similar problem with turning them into artifact troves. Dividing the count by 5 is still a lot, too many for me to care to constantly crack. Since there's not much else to use them for, might as well buy hay with them. Also I just looked it up out of curiosity. I assumed the 150g worth of hay for 1 omni geode wouldn't be better than the profit you'd make from cracking them, but apparently that's actually wrong. According to the wiki, under the best circumstances of it not being the first 15 geodes you crack (where prismatic shards are impossible), and having the gemologist profession, omni geodes have an average return of 149g, or 124g when factoring in opening cost (assuming you sell everything). You might be able to make the argument that selling everything but the ores/coal makes it worthwhile, cause you might then use them, but either way in terms of monetary value the hay trade is much better than I assumed.
I actually find the Oasis Monday and Tuesday items pretty useful - once per playthrough. It's weird to be sitting on twenty iridium bars and no cactus or coconuts for the desert obelisk. I also appreciate Krobus' fish sell on Wednesdays, since it can be pretty helpful for community items that are locked behind seasons or that you hate catching.
I also cant stop calling it Queen of the Sauce...........it just feels right also thank you so much for this video because I think weekly resets is something I've never figured out timing for everything!!
You and Gamer Gar are the two best SV guides to resources and quirks. You are never hyperbolic and your humor is spot on even with the dad jokes and puns. Consistently informative AND entertaining. Keep up the fantastic work.
If you are farming for golden coconuts (maybe to build a banana empire), Sandy sells 10 coconuts on mondays, and they can be traded for a golden coconut on ginger island. It was pretty important for me (much more than an omni geode from Krobus)
You say that Sandy sell Quality Retaining Soil for a huge discount compared to Pierre, yet the video shows Pierre's offer being way better? You show Sandy selling it for 200g each compared to Pierre 150g each, at around 4:32
I basically keep Ginger Island closed off, so npcs can not visit after i get the recipe that gus sells since it just messes up most npcs, especially pam, when i get a good luck day for skull caverns
People love to complain that Marnie is "never doing her job", but her hours and days are just as consistent as everyone else, except for the days she and jas go to the doctor.
I mean.... 3 hay on mondays could be clutch when you run out on sunday and miss going to Marnie's. Come wednesday those animals are gonna be grooooouchy.
oooh have been looking for something like this! would love to see a weekly chores list for mid-late game, even if that's more preference based. like wine wednesdays type of stuff, just to start brainstorming for making my farm chores more efficient
I don’t know man…Marnie’s not at counter on Mondays and 12 hay for 36 omnigeodes could be a good deal in a pinch…especially if you’ve been spending too much of your winter doing Skull Caverns runs to remember to buy hay….
Question: Why to you keep adding a second "the" into "The Queen of Sauce"? No where in the code or data is it listed as "The Queen of _the_ Sauce" same with the wiki.
I was worried about shop NPCs visiting Ginger Island, but it seems it was solved with money boxes, so the general store and the saloon are still open even when Pierre or Gus are away (or is this just on mobile?)

I love how Salmence is absolutely insistent on it being "Queen of the Sauce" even after showing footage of it being "Queen of Sauce".
I know it may just seem like I do it out of stubborness, but it genuinely just never sticks in my mind lmao
I've been saying it wrong for over 2 years since I learned about this game from salmence's let's play...
@GamerZoneSpeaking Well not really. Queen of the Sauce implies there is only one sauce, while Queen of Sauce implies she has dominion over all sauces.
Petition CA to change the name, we're stuck with this now.

Cool, it is an interesting fact.

I do find it interesting that Sunday is the weekly reset even if the calendar has Monday as the start of the week.
There's essentially two ends of the week you have to watch out for lol

As someone who is unashamedly addicts to charts and Excel sheets, i love these videos.
For Quality Retaining Soil I think you might have gotten it backwards. Pierre's is a discount from the Oasis (150g vs 200g)
Oopsie, I sure did! I saw the two different numbers and assumed the cheaper one was at the Oasis

Sandy: 200g

I'd likely put a thing of gathering forage on Saturday for the chart, helps keep it in memory better.

I am ONE recipe away from completing the Master Chef achievement. It is year 8. I still haven't had the Sauce Queen teach me Bruschetta
Theoretically, the reruns should have taught your Bruschetta yet.
The one time it won't reliably rerun missing recipes is if you are on a multiplayer farm - did you build a cabin?
Wait what? He opens on Wednesday when Joja is still in town? I didn’t know that…
But quality retaining soil was more expensive at Sandy'S (200g) than Pierres (150g) At least that's what you just showed us....
I love you 💜
Minor nitpick but it's "The Queen of Sauce" not "Queen of the Sauce"
Wait but the retaining soil is 200 at sandy and 150 at pierre 🤔
What about the island trader? Does his stuff appear randomly?
