Great job on the launch, the ray is a piece of work to launch solo without a lifter. Well done Michael, wonderful video as usual thanks for sharing. Enjoy your weekend.
@MichaelKSherman Admired, hired, mired, tired, retired. Yes, I surely am, Michael. The recent trip to Huntington beach was a good thing . I flew eagles and the glider as much as I wanted, and then some. That was epic! The trade off is that stick kites are lazy and bag kites are reluctant. I am going to try the sight gag of the UFO and the cow again sometime. Happy holidays.
@hieeih6468 this is a 12m. It tends to travel a bit in higher winds, so sometimes I'll add a tail. But I prefer it for the ease of throwing it up. I have the HQ XXXL15M sled, and it requires 18 spars - too much work to build in high winds.. Also, have a Mega Sled 81. Works well, but I prefer the larger 12M. The kite is being used as a pilot, connected to the top of the the ray. Both fly at a higher angle than a flowform. A flow form is a good lifter for midi sized laundry, but not for actual kites, like a peter lynn maxi ray, for example. Make sense?.
@@MichaelKSherman and for the Maxi kites, what's the max length of line you'd normally let them out ? I understand there needs to be a minimum distance between the laundry and this pilot kite ?

Hi Michael, how do you find this lifter kite compared to the flowform or the sleds?

@MichaelKSherman Looking to get line laundry and not sure of the various lifters on the market and this really helps! This 12sqm has seven bridles ?
@@hieeih6468 12Msqm has 8 bridles.
@@MichaelKSherman With the 12sqm pilot, how much line do you let out, 500ft ? I'm assuming at that size, you're using 1000lbs test line
