Luv the idea - I watched because I want to build a very similar partition with twin bed slats - I live in an apartment: my idea is to use castor rollers on the base piece so it can be moved. I change my decor A LOT! Got the slats free and have the hardware and glue : now I need the motivation. Nice look!
Just looking to do something similar at the top of my stairs to keep my autistic grandson from jumping over the railing. He's fearless. thank you for this.
Great video. Just what I was looking for. I am going to follow the pretty much the same process. I do have one question. I plan to make it and then screw into place also. However, I see you had a bit of room to move with the staircase there. Would I have any problems standing it upright in a room where I do not have stairs or room to move?
I think for smaller bars there is recommendation to have horizontal support 600mm apart from each other to prevent warping. I havent made any screens though, going to make one. Maybe bigger bars will be more sturdy and it probably helps if inside temperature is constantly same.
hmm, cool vid, but math tells me you will not be able to do this in any home. Yours had those stairs that went down and allowed you to tilt it upright, in a regular house you cannot mount the top piece before you set up the ground and the bars
Hey! I'm working on a project just like this, and we don't have any ceiling joists in the area we need them. What kind of "heavy duty drywall anchors" did you use?
This is EXACTLY what I've been looking for. We are planning to build the exact same thing to make the stairway to the basement safer.

Love your work, great job 👍
Steve from Blues Clues decided to pick up carpentry and framing! 😂
Nice video, great explanation. I don't recall hearing the spacing though. Maybe 3" gap?
How tall was the divider floor to ceiling? How long ago did u do it & have u had any issues with it bowing or warping?
Thank you
Thank u so much for sharing. Do you have any idea about the kit to use for the pivot one, the one that closes and opens please
Excatly what we were looking for -thank you. Would you be able to share the screws (and other parts) that was used for floor and ceiling and walls?

Couldn't you have just leveled the top and bottom plate to the floor and ceiling the cut all length boards the same measures cut?
👍👍
that wood will warp eventually. right?
We had it for a year. No sign of warping.

Great video. Found music distracting but otherwise, the content is great.

Thanks for sharing... it looks nice and you did a smart construction process...Congratulations!!!!
Is there a tool or part you'd recommend if you wanted the pieces to "swivel" or turn?
Great video
What kind of wood stain would you recommend for these pine pieces?
What stain did you use ? What did you use to stain it (brush/rag)?
Thanks for sharing this video. Looks easy to follow so I think I'm gonna do this.
This is awesome. Looking to do exactly this. What was the total cost?
Did you use any stain?
You have the body language of Lee Harvey Oswald. Nice video though
