This is an original work from William Zahn. Composed, performed and recorded between October of 2021 and early July of 2022.
The lyric speaks to the singer’s guilt from losing his Baby Blue whose care was solely his responsibility.
Musically it is groove dominated with a wah guitar and several keyboards underpinning the funk.
A 13 piece brass section is featured, with soloists allowed to explore the boundaries of the key.
Three female back-up singers are charged with singing the hook, while one lady shows off her vocal chops by ad-libbing through an entire verse.
