The Latin Kings also had a time of power in Spain, I joined them and it was one of my biggest mistakes. Fortunately I didn’t join in a time where it was the most violent, so I wasn’t really part of many gang wars, and it’s not the US so firearms weren’t really a thing… I one day decided to just not show up anymore, I got tired of going to meetings and paying for nothing. It was nothing like I expected it to be, so I just stopped going. A friend of mine was still inside, he told me they gave me green light… I am still waiting for them to come.
I was born in the Queensbridge Houses during the turbulent 1950s. We had our share of drug gangs and all the misfortunes that drugs bring into our lives. I also survived the Vietnam war and all its dysfunctional violence. Today, I read some of the online testimonials that affect the younger generation. My heart goes out to my community's Hispanic youth. You were exposed to cheap gang related violence since grade/middle school. It seems that you have been ''sold short'' of a so called ''normal'' childhood. Be strong !! Don't forget that gang life leads to prison sentences and worse. In many cases your parents came to the US for a better life. Every time that you get in trouble , you're breaking your mom and dad's hearts. Buena suerte y que tengan unas felices Navidades y Ano Nuevo !!!!
I literally was born and raised in Brentwood and graduated from Brentwood high school in 2014. Since middle school we were taught to beware of MS. There’s a pattern of them being more quiet some years and then, waves of terror and tragedy again. They’re never not active though. They are absolutely ruthless and nobody is off limits.
Yeah I first moved to Brentwood in 2007 to the east side on broadway by Timbo park i had came home blood that time and we used to link up with the Latin kings to take out those 13 we beefing with them brazy
Dawg I remember going to the Puerto Rican day parade back in early 2000's, being in the subway and seeing the kings marching proudly with a whole flag leading them! Only other place I seen that, was when I was the military.
I met king tone back in the days he saw me rollerblading asked me to do some tricks we kick it for a while he was a humble as dude and said nothing but positive things to me and never once asked me to join or even mention who he really was .. cool dude
It's crazy I'm from Brooklyn and I remember LK but I never knew MS was in NY way back then. I never heard of them till the 2000's. That's how you know them dudes ain't no joke. Killers move in silence.
They didn't have much presence in NYC for sure, but a few moved in some parts but without the numbers they were literal weak. MS did began taking over parts of Long Island, usually in towns/areas where Central Americans settled and easily would picked on them too. Latin Kings and Ñetas lost their influences or power during the late 90s. early 00s the Dominicans gangs started to grow but the Trinitarios got bigger and began a rivalry with the Ms-13. But Bloods were their main rivals, if I recall correctly.
@@carlosvasquez2196 That's wild Bro. I remember years ago when my Irish boss was talking about MS when they killed the two little girls in long Island. I was like MS-13?
The guys who created the video decided to create his own history, there’s more Gangster disciples in nyc than ms-13 and they’re a tinny gang too. *He’s giving false info here*
Thanks for sharing 🙏🏾 Prayers out for those trying to recover from the passing of their loved ones 🕊️ Prayers out for those incarcerated 🕊️ Prayers out for those on that path 🕊️
I remember being in middle school in the early 2000s in LI. The Ms / LK beef was going crazy. What’s crazy is you got a lot of info I didn’t even think was known 😂
Born and raised in south side Jamaica queens. I’ve seen a lot of things go on between these 2 gangs and one thing I can say for sure, they take “on sight” very serious 😂
Proverbs 4:14-22 Do not enter the path of the wicked, And do not walk in the way of evil. Avoid it, do not travel on it; Turn away from it and pass on. For they do not sleep unless they have done evil; And their sleep is taken away unless they make someone fall. For they eat the bread of wickedness, And drink the wine of violence. But the path of the just is like the shining sun, That shines ever brighter unto the perfect day. The way of the wicked is like darkness; They do not know what makes them stumble. My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart; For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh.
I ran the streets in the early 90's and I'm so glad that I managed to get out of it alive. Looking at how complicated it is now days I don't think I could survive. Back then it was easy, it was us against everyone. If you ran with us it didn't matter where you were from. Thru brothers in belief and the never ending quest for respect. For all you young cat repping your colors out there I could tell you that if you manage to make it out you will outgrow that stage of your life. Then you will be like me, you'll see it and laugh about it.
I have people from. my high school mainly kings they still on that BS and in and out of jail I Also went to school with Ms 13 I never had a fallout with them cuz they kept to themselves but the Kings always wanted to start stuff especially if you were black
King Tone did an interview on Flip Da Script and it’s by far one of the best interviews Iv ever seen from anyone. He speaks about being addicted to crack, becoming a King and how it changed him, how he’s stepped away from the street shit and just tries to help people now. Gave me goosebumps more than once
@@jameskoch3807No he isn't. You're still gangbanging, but spiritually. Jesus is derived from Judaism since he's supposedly from the tribe of Judah and they honor the 6 point star while Muslims honor the 5 point star. I don't even have to break it down any further
Wow! That is a great video So much infos and contexts on a not so easy topic for information gathering I really hope you will continue in the future with more of those explanations videos Thanks you very much
It's funny how gangs in other cities care about colors outside of Chicago. It was important in 60's and 70's but, despite what the show Gangland say I've NEVER been approached by what color I had on. Now turning my hat or 2 earrings in one ear in the wrong hood is a deathwish
That's an interesting point. I grew up in Miami (Southwest & South Miami, and Hialeah) and was surrounded by gang culture. Different neighborhood, and blocks = different affiliations. But colors were never that important. It was more about tattoos, gang (hand) signs, and tags (pitchforks vs. crowns, etc.). That was in the late 70s & throughout the 80s. I know its changed ever since i left. I moved to the Bay Area (Cali) in 92, and got to understand the different cliques, and beefs, out here. In the early 2000s I was working in The Mission, San Francisco, back then a predominantly Latino neighborhood. My job was on 15th & Capp St. - MS13 Surenos(blue) neighborhood, and i would always get out at the 16th St. train station. One day I was wearing a bright red shirt, and a beaded Cuban flag pendant around my neck. As I came out of the station I was hemmed up by these three cholos rocking blue gear, and fully tatted out. They stepped & demanded that i tell them why I was there, what set I claimed, etc.. all in spanish. I told them that I wasn't a gang member, and didn't mean any disrespect. One of them pulled out my Cuban flag pendant, looked at his boys, and they broke out. Later on, a former parole officer, and gang specialist at my job told me that what saved me was the Cuban flag pendant, and my Cuban accent. She said that a lot (but not all) of Cubans locked up are considered neutral, and not a threat on the outside. At least on the West Coast. Thoughts?
@@pscampoamor Cubans usually run with the Others Car (Pacific islander, Native, Asians)in CDC-R but just can still choose to Run with Blks/N.s/Sur if they have it in Their Hearts and are willing to die in a race riot for another Race.
In the 90’s in New York, Connecticut, and Massachusetts the LK went to war. The only competition was Los Solidos and the Ñetas. No one who did time during that era can deny this. On the inside, the Aryan Brotherhood and the BOWS (Brotherhood of White Supremacy) held down the woodpile. But it was rough times.
In Massachusetts in the 90s folks an crips ran the county jails. Just saying all 5s an anything that cliqued with 5s was in PC in my county. These is facts wasn't till the so called piece treaty that anything other then crips an Gs lived in general population
I wrote an essay about Fidel Castro in College, and you are wrong about him being elected in 1976. Castro TOOK power by force and invaded Havana in 1959. If you ever watched The Godfather part II the scene where Michael Corleone, President Bautista, and other Mafiosos start to evacuate was a great scene they mimic a real historical event. Castro said once he arrived to Havana he was going to kill every Mobster. When they heard Castro was close to invade Havana. They all left back to the U.S. in boats. That’s why in the movie you see Michael Corleone and the others desperately leaving.
As a black girl, it would be cool if there was a movie based on The Latin Kings. I would for sure watch it. Despite The Latin Kings being violence I find them to be really interesting.
@@sedricgilliam2967 but they do stand for alot of things and like I am going to say that I am really affiliated with the latin king's and queens but I will say that I know that they are all about family and there history it goes from generation to generation the older ones pass it to the younger ones with knowledge and everything to be a good King but I know that they do have knowledge and your right knowledge and power is the best thing to have power and knowledge but they are standing for something, amor de Rey black and gold never fold 💯💯🖤🧡👑🤟✌️
the 7/11 they hung outside of was on 62nd and northern right next to the border between woodside/astoria and jackson heights. this neighborhood was never really insanely dangerous, but it was never nice either. i was raised around here and MS and LK are still pretty deep in this area just wayy more lowkey. really nice video tho bro, cool to see some areas im fimiliar with on such a popular video and channel
Long Island is made up of Kings County which is Brooklyn, Queens County, Nassau County and Suffolk County . So he's correct on that. Just because people from the city especially from Brooklyn and Queens just refer to Long Island as Nassau and Suffolk County don't mean it's accurate cause it's not. If you're in any of those 4 counties then you're in Long Island. This is why the signs on the highways says "Eastern L.I" when traveling into Nassau and Suffolk County from Queens.
@@Xris.Tys24 modern day gangland. Some people don’t realize a lot of Chicago gangs are way older than Bloods and Crips like bruh 🙄 Chicago for sure up there if not #1 rn w violence
A draft wrong here or there? Dude does not give a fuck about accuracy. It’s well edited, but half ass on accuracy. He says a bunch of wrong information with such confidence. And that’s scary, because people will believe him.
The detail that provides misinformation lmao. Like saying the Maniacs started at the same time as the Kingz which is false…..LDs formed because they didn’t want to be MK or LK.
I remember being there a member of King Tone's tribe back in the late 90's known as Tiger tribe then later Arawak. I was 19 yo trying to find my place and be a part of something. Tone's reform era was about can drives for the poor and marching for racial injustice after he was indicted for coordinating drug sales everything changed fast I found myself in a gang where your brother was your worst enemy. I stuck around for 8 more years eventually opened my own tribe and tried to get back to those roots helping as many as I could getting some off the streets sleeping on my floor wherever there was room. That tribe became the biggest in Brooklyn for a while. I thought I coukd make a positive change but they were too many wolves in lions clothes. Eventually I would walk away and step down and get stripped, my girlfriend now wife was pregnant and raising a family was more important then the pretend one I had in the streets .
Bro you’re a real one for that, always respect the righteous 💯Sadly our community enjoys to be lost at this point we’ve grown use to the conditioning . It feels like we’re even more lost now than in the 90’s man. You still the king to your tribe though brother, no one taking that from you. What you did was some real shit 💯💯 I respect you
heard of a long runnin war in willyb/crossing into bushwick brooklyn ny with trini, vs blood and lk ongoing for over a decade not sure if its still on in that area but a good amount of bodies dropped
Brentwood hasn’t been a quiet suburb since way before the 2000s… other than that pretty accurate. Suburbs on Long Island can be deceiving so I’m not judging. Many of the larger mother/daughter style homes became multi family dwellings in misleading hoods
I know alot of stand up Kings and knew King Tone personally who led the Nation in the late 90s. Real stand up but the 13s were wilding, it got bad between them sadly
WTF are you trying to say? Your version of the English language is strictly incomprehensible slang. Your basic problem is that you are bragging about a bunch of losers who can't even find a job cleaning toilets. These lowlife street gangs give all Hispanics a bad name.
I was a Latin king growing up technically still am but I'm to old for all that now. I'm from Brooklyn we was wilding when I was young it wasn't cool the things I did living that life but you live and learn.
I respect that you never dropped out and you realize that lifestyle is a waste of your Adult life if you continue to Choose the Streets over the family you are meant to be the Head Of like Your Higher Power Intended for you G.
I remember the Kings in the Bronx used to stay posted up at the handball court near my school. By the time I started HS in the late 90s, their power around where I was was fading. The Bloods (UBN) were beginning to make a name for themselves, and Crip sets were popping up everywhere as a reactionary response to UBN. My school also had a considerable Dominican gang presence called Bonz, but they were affiliated with much larger Dominican gangs that would later come to prominence. Oh yeah, and let's not forget about racist ass ABI, lol.
i live in long beach ny and the MS 13 is insane out on the island. Example; they somehow got my brother's phone number and my name and tried to call him saying that they had kidnapped me and wanted money or they would kill me. My brother frantically called me where i was currently teaching a middle school gym class hahaha
I'm from Brooklyn and when I say the El salvadorians turned up crazy 🤣. The Mexicans in New York City for the most part or just hard-working citizens trying to support their family that was salvadorians then moved in with different bro.
I don't know what World you live in But in this world it don't matter who you are The same shit to talk about on here is the same shit that's going down in my city everyday
Puerto Ricans and Mexicans BOTH started the Latin kings. South side chicago is predominantly Mexican, and they had a gang called the "Coulter kings" so the northwest side puerto Ricans clicked up with the south side Mexicans and just like that they became a big fearsome street gang called the Latin king's. king gino later ran the north side and baby king ran the south side kings. In fact there's more Mexican Latin king members then puerto ricans.
Naaah not true. Maybe on the Mexican part. My uncles were Latin kings back in the mid 50s in chitown. There were no mexicans even mentioned seen or felt at all it was all boricuas plain and simple now whatever happened after that years later I'm sure mexicans might have got involved in the kings
@@Loco-melaza there was plenty of Mexicans in chicago during the 50s, especially around Pilsen and little village, the Latin counts date back to the early 50s, they used to be called "son's of Mexico", I seen pictures of SDs from the early 60s with a bunch of Mexicans in it. The taylor jouster gang was started by Italians and Mexicans in the mid 50s Mexicans had a large presence around jew town at that time,Mexicans had a presence already don't know what your talking about. You make it seem as if Mexicans were a non factor or non existent in the gang scene.
@@mikewhite8848 it's that as far as I know no mexicans were in the latin kinds like that now if they joined it anyone can...I just know what I remember and seen and yea there were other ethnicity joined in that's a fact but not on our side of Chicago. I remember two large, black Cuban police coming to our home in Cuba to let us know we could leave, it was april1980, I was 7,. When we arrived at the spot my uncle's landed their boat on ( next to Havana) two black Cuban police ( different ones) said "to leave the children " but my parents refused ( you see they could leave, ,they really wanted the kids) my parents refused, then they said it was only 4 on the list to leave,, my mom and her three children , they said he was not on the list , he told them he's leaving Cuba with his family and weren't going to send them to a strange land where they didn't know the language. .. they finally said to get on the boat, but before he did so, my uncle's were forced to take like 15 more people on this 25 foot boat, and my parents had to leave their wedding rings, the excuse, that that gold was mined in Cuba and it was staying in Cuba...
I used to work in a frame shop and once helped two Latin kings frame a picture of a dead friend of theirs. I told my coworker that I had helped two gang members and being a woke New Yorker she tried telling me that the Latin Kings aren’t a gang and that it’s all misinformation that has given them a bad reputation. She was and probably still is clueless.
She's not wrong and wrong at the same time, I'm God Body... The nation is not a gang, but many of us do Bang and we all protect fellow Gods n Earths... Many LK's are also God Body
They’re not a gang 🤣 I could understand a woke person saying not all Italians are mafia or not all illegal immigrants have ties to the cartel. But saying Latin Kings isn’t a gang is just purely delusion. It’s like saying the mafia is just a social club founded by guys in waste management 😭🤣
Brentwood was wild in the 1980s even. And then when the Kings, Ñetas, Bloods and multiple smaller neighborhood crews were going at it between Brentwood, CI and Bay Shore in the 90s, MS used to get dusted by practically everyone until the mid 2000s. Then shit really blew up when their numbers increased. Brentwood Locos were nothing to play with.
@kevrunnthat Bloods were in 2nd to last place back when I was comin up for sure. Then MS went from being just some rag tag dudes to an absolute army and basically took over Brentwood, CI and North Bay Shore. Then they started killin each other more than anyone.
@@malcolmgeorge5333 very true in the mid-2000s they had the power they had the numbers up but 2016 came the Republican party started cracking down on them Donald J Trump came to visit Brentwood and then basically the Suffolk County Police ended up catching up to their crimes most of them went to prison When Donald Trump was President he enforced strict immigration laws a good percentage got deported and sent back to their countries I mean they definitely still have to be around but hopefully it doesn't go back to the craziness that it once had I remember one of my friends that was Spanish he basically was driving a Honda Civic they thought he was part of them and he wasn't you know he was just a hard-working man they detained him they ran his ID they saw you had a clean record and they let him go and he was also an American citizen United States born American citizen but you know they were getting strict and they detained him they ran his information and then they let him go when they saw that he never had prior criminal history Seattle legit clean record that's how strictly got with the immigration laws for the Trump Administration
@@damienmcneill4399 I can definitely see that cause around 2009 even uptown we was hearing about ms-13 chopping people up in Long Island for a little bit they was a real threat💯but as of late it has been quiet for them ms-13 should of opened up membership in my opinion even bloods & crip sets have whole Puerto Rican and Dominican gangs with not one black guy in sight. If ms-13 would of allowed other ethnicities to have membership they might of still been a factor, but that’s normal with gang politics up here man. Every time these guys organize and start claiming they hoods nypd comes with those ricos and makes them start everything over, in New York you really can’t establish a hood. Street life is rough over here ny is truly a police state .
The Hispanic gang ones are interesting, there’s a really interesting one here in northern Queens like Corona, Jackson Heights, Elmhurst between Patria and rival neighborhood gangs a lot interesting shootings including one where 10 people were hit and they have rappers on the patria end with a decent buzz like Anthony Patria and GB Tribuvelli

I one day decided to just not show up anymore, I got tired of going to meetings and paying for nothing.

Thoughts?

I wrote an essay about Fidel Castro in College, and you are wrong about him being elected in 1976. Castro TOOK power by force and invaded Havana in 1959. If you ever watched The Godfather part II the scene where Michael Corleone, President Bautista, and other Mafiosos start to evacuate was a great scene they mimic a real historical event. Castro said once he arrived to Havana he was going to kill every Mobster. When they heard Castro was close to invade Havana. They all left back to the U.S. in boats. That’s why in the movie you see Michael Corleone and the others desperately leaving.
Castro put Cuban criminals and mentally ill on boats to the U.S. he started a crime wave

Long Island is actually 2 separate counties Nassau and Suffolk with many different incorporated cities within them
Brooklyn and Queens are on Long Island. Long Island is not a city.....

I'm from so cal I'm Mexican and tribuvelli was dope af sad he got killed by his baby mama

It's mostly a Gang thing... The majority of the Salvadorians and Puerto Ricans are not into that.... Kings and MS belong to opposing forces in the Drug Trade .... Creating this senseless killings.... But they represent a very tiny percentage of people... Puerto Ricans and Salvadorians live in many Communities all over this country and in most cases... Together.... And most Community Leaders work together as One.... You just have to stick to the elements that Unite Us..... Stay away from the Bad elements.... Florida... Virginia... Illinois... Wisconsin... Maryland... Pennsylvania...New Jersey... Connecticut.. all these states have very strong Latino Organizations that Unite ALL Latinos as one....
