Hello Sir, i am searching for a miniature/scale model, i don't want to start collecting or playing tabletop, so i don't know what to search for or if there are even sellers for what i like... Mostly i am interested in Sci-Fi Models, or a mixture from Arachnids and Cyborgs or like Starshiptrooper Bugs or Tyranids... But they should be bigger than ... lets say "a fist" ... Any Tipps would be very appreciated!
Duuuuuuuuuuude. That spider is NEXT LEVEL! My favourite part is probably not even what you think: painting those LEAVES. That looks so awesome! Totally punches up those plastic bits. Wow. SO nice. Great painting as usual. Really makes me want to get an airbrush, lol. I have one of those Anaroch spiders myself, sitting...unpainted...unloved for like over 3+ years. Sigh. But i've recently got back into painting minis and will probably tackle it soon! Although not with as much fanciness as you, heh. I also have a pretty nice forest goblin army - managed to get a great set of the old school 6th edition metals a few years back. Also, the base is amazing, and thanks for running through on how to make it. Might have to do something similar. Thanks for another fun vid!
Agreed, the serum hid the glue blobs and thread though. He did a better job than i couldever hope to do, but on its own the web wasn't great. With the serum, and maybe holding back a bit with the serum on other parts of the base, it looked amazing.
Wow! This is by far my favorite video of yours, it was such a treat to watch you work on a small mini, a big mini, do terrain and basing, all in one video with so much bravery and passion!
Wow, great work! The end result was pretty impressive. I liked the painterly, expressive way you used color on the base. I've been getting more interested in that sort of non-representational use of color on minis lately.
I can’t help but think of Christmas theme when I see red and green together. But in the end when there are so many other colors happening as well, it no longer looks like a Christmas set. Loved the paint techniques on the base-first time setting that! The whole thing turned out amazing.
The spider serum is really something else. I have a bottle of it, but have barely used any outside of testing. Definitely better when there is a structure for it to grab onto.
These are my favorite type of videos you make. Straight begging to end process on a project your excited about. They always seem more educational and your energy for the piece is contagious. Thank for the great video! Really inspirational.
I can't believe you painted this 1 year ago. Your talents are off the charts! It probably would have been a major pain in the butt however I think I would have moved the pride and trees it's on forward 1 inch to the foreground and put the goblin behind the spider so there would be no chance people would think the spider is about to eat the goblin. All that said I have to say this is my favorite model I've seen you paint. 😀 great job!!
Just took me a month to finish a tau commander, painting an hour or so every night. Good job I love this hobby so much, I wouldn't have the patience otherwise!
I had this video on in the background whilst I painted and I looked away for like five mins whist Emil painted the spider and when I looked back it was incredible.... Immediately restarted the vid to watch with my full attention this looked so cool!!!!!!!!!
epic. nice job. I cant do red and green because it always looks like Christmas but you nailed it. I was digging the 80's music vibe in the middle. thanks for sharing
As a kid, I used to make radio wires on my model aircraft by melting sprues. You can get some really organic looking threads. Worth a practice.... And saves wasting sprues
Squidmar, love that army! would be a sight to behold when fully painted up! Question: could you link the kokos fibres you use for basing? Trying to find some here in Holland, but till now it's not to scale.
Plastic-warp/Cling-film works great for spider webs too... although it's more straight forward for making giant spider webs. It gives a natural glisten too. That model looks amazing Squidmar! Just wanted to offer you another way to make the webs. Can't wait to see this infestation develop.
OMG If been following you since a lot, and that probably for me the best mini's you've ever made !!! Everything is just beautiful!! Thanks for your work and your vid. I'm waiting for the next one with anxiety!!!
You can normally get a more eerie looking spiderweb by ditching the main plans, go grab some used dryer sheets and stretch them out with glue to attach it.
I very recently decided I wanted to start playing Warhammer. When I was searching to find what army I wanted to start collecting, I found the Gloomspite Gits in Age of Sigmar and absolutely loved them. The very first Warhammer model that I bought was the Arachnarok Spider with the Web Spinner Shaman. I am almost finished painting it and I love watching your videos while I paint. So when I saw that you made this video I was so thrilled to see what you did with the model. You most certainly did not disappoint! I love your videos and I’m a big fan of the channel ❤️
Wow the way you painted the base is just amazing! The minis look great as well of course, but it’s the base that really impressed me :) feeling inspired, thanks!
Superb work! At certain points in the painting process of both the goblin and spider I thought “oh my god, he’s ruined it” but then by some kind of supernatural painting power you turn it back to excellence 👏
I fell in love with those TKS gobbos, I'm not sure who i saw painting one but had to have a look....now I have the whole set backed and am thinking about adding the giant robot too.... kickstarter is a dangerous place XD
OOOOH I just learned about making spider threads, take some translucent/clear 1.75mm filament (20$ for a HUGE spool of it). You take a snip of it and holding it on both ends while using a lighter in the middle you pull it into a smaller thread, which you can then connect them together to make a thread! I found this out by watch Green Stuff World's video on how to use their Spider Serum
Maybe you could use some minis in the spider web, like if they would be enemies trapped by the spiders or their food hahahaha. Really that was an awesome work man 10/10
So cool, one thought on the spider web, maybe just save some Halloween decor? Yours came out amazing, especially after the spray application, but it looked like a difficult project
I love how those goblin models have taken inspiration from world of warcraft. I mean, there's Illidan, Guldan and I think one of them has some Deathwing vibes. Love it!
This is just my 2 cents but you can make fairly convincing spider web by taking cotton wool, spreading it really thin from center so the strands go from single point to all around in a circle, and then applying some water gel or other 'see-through water' (not glue) with brush from the center towards the edges. And then make a second very, very thin web with similar technique but this time spread the gel in a circular spiral motion, and place the two webs on top of each other.
im so hyped, cant wait for cristmas so i can start painting minis, all i do is watching videos about it and doing an insane base like this is definetly on my to do list! looks awesome dude
Great stuff as always Emil! The spider web serum definitely gives it the better finish, but that's only because of how much the superglue web blobs took away from the original version. The webbing really made a huge difference and this is a great addition to your collection. :D

The addition of the spider serum really made this pop even more. Great work.
13:07 The third hand sliding across the top of the screen genuinely freaked me out.
I'm guessing that it was either one of his children's hands visiting their dad at work or his wife. Nothing to really freakout about.
@@Winterydee thanks. I've taken some time and calmed myself.
@@Winterydee with that skill he is for sure blessed by the dark goods with a third hand. that would explain everything....

Everything's looking amazingly great, but I just have to say - That's the saddest web ever. Nice contrast though, lol.
Yeah, with the serum though it's not bad. Should have just re-filmed the B-roll with it. Incredible though, seriously. 10/10
yeah it looks incredible but the size of the web would barely suite the smaller spiders his goblins are riding lmao
Agreed, the serum hid the glue blobs and thread though. He did a better job than i couldever hope to do, but on its own the web wasn't great. With the serum, and maybe holding back a bit with the serum on other parts of the base, it looked amazing.

everything is so perfect that the droplets of glue on the web stand out so much
Man, those goblin sculpts are amazing!
It's gorgeous! The base is the most impressive to me, they way you combined the greens and browns looks soooooooooooo good!
The lil chaman gives me a christmas vibe, maybe because the colour of the hat, maybe because im obssesed with going on a holiday
The base is my favorite part of this build - so beautiful! I am a sucker for vibrant colors so I will definitely try that technique

I Love goblins! I can not wait to do a goblin themed terrain build. Love your work!
I first read that as Goblin themed TRAIN build, and now I’m going to have a hard time getting that out of my mind... :)

Finally you painted this mini! I was hooked when I saw it unpainted.
looks awesome and that spider serum really saved that web whist bringing it to life and making the scene more creepy too
I think that cotton balls are also a good idea for adding a bit more stringiness to the thread spider web!
You can tell how much love you had for this project, is beautiful
This is propably the collest Modell i have ever seen. Pls keep that work up, it is so nice to just watch you create Art.
That spider model is really cool. I think it'd be a perfect candidate for iridescent paint.
Wow the color scheme just pops. Love the Little devil with the big ugly spider 😍
That’s about the average time it takes me to complete any of my miniatures...
