    On today's video I''m sharing how to make an amazing vegan dessert recipe: the classic chelsea bun with orange and chocolate.
    This is one of those vegan dessert recipes that everyone will love - even a carnivore bookkeeper ;)
    Here's the recipe:
    DOUGH
    510 g flour (3 cups)
    75 g sugar (1/4 cup)
    6 g salt (1 tsp)
    75 g vegan butter (5 tbs)
    zest of 1 orange
    5 ml orange extract or essence (1 tsp)
    8 g yeast (1 packet)
    222 ml almond milk (1 cup)
    FILLING
    105 g vegan butter (7 tbs)
    225 g sugar (3/4 cup)
    100 g vegan chocolate chips (1/2 cup)
    46 g unsweetened cocoa powder (1/3 cup)
    zest of 1 orange
    GLAZE
    266 g confectioner's sugar (1/2 cup)
    60 ml orange juice (roughly 2 oranges)

    Normal white sugar in the United States is made using bone char. It is what makes the sugar white. Bone char is made from the bones of cattle from Afghanistan, Argentina, India, and Pakistan. The bones are sold to traders in Scotland, Egypt, and Brazil who then sell them back to the U.S. sugar industry. If you want your vegan desserts to be truly vegan, you should use sugar that is labeled "char free" or "vegan".
