Advaita Academy celebrated Shankara Jayanti 2021 by organizing the 2nd Edition of Global Festival of Oneness, from May 17 to June 16th. As part of the festival we featured talks by around 60 Scholars, Sages, and Seekers to share about Shankara’s life, works and influence across multiple dimensions that include Philosophy, Oneness, Leadership and more.
On June 4th, Morning session : Prof. K Ramasubramanian spoke on the topic ’Brahmasutra Chatussootri: An Introduction’. He noted that the Brahmasutra’s which consists of 555 sutras, written by Badarayana, deals with Vedanta vakyas which are likely to generate confusions in the mind of seekers. The Chatussootri, that is the first 4 sutras, are extremely popular and have been extensively commented upon. These are Nyaya pratipadaka sutra, related to Brahman.
Dr. K. Ramasubramanian, a Professor at IIT Bombay in the Cell for Indian Science and Technology in Sanskrit, Department of Humanities and Social Sciences. Prof. Ramasubramanian holds a doctorate in Theoretical Physics and a Masters in Sanskrit. This session with the esteemed professor merely demonstrates his own erudition. It is clearly not meant for mere mortals like me.
