Excire, thanks for introducing the feature of giving a face a name. Mylio Photos already had this feature in their software. I guess better late than never.
Yes, you can save the metadata from Excire Foto. Depending on the file type this could be in the files (jpg) or in xmp-sidecar files in case of raw files. There are additional settings available. Please contact our support team, if you need more in-depth information.
Price is slightly high if I *just* care about the sorting and culling photos, whatever, and I want it to work with CaptureOne. What's the best way to do that? I guess running Excire Foto separately, deleting files on disk, and then syncing the folder with CaptureOne might be a way, but exporting star ratings or sort order to CaptureOne would be better.
You can save star ratings with the metadata and share those along with keywords with Capture One. That is a popular workflow with Excire Foto. Our support can explain this in more detail if needed.
Looks good, but I honestly don't really like the timing, right after the BF sale for version 2024. Would've liked to know about the eminent upgrade. Good work on the program though!
I already have the 2024 version but, tbh this culling features isn't worth the 69$ "discount" and upgrade version at all... So minor fixes/features for such price : too bad
Do you think someone needs these new features? They look very weak, invented out of the blue. I bet you used Chat GPT to give you these "breakthrough ideas." What is really missing in the market is a photo manager for regular people, not another attempt to reinvent Lightroom. What's next? Release a new version that will use AI to find all the winking people in the library.

Can the tags, captured date and GPS information I add in Excire be written to the metadata in the original files within the folder I provided Excire?

Just tested and added a folder with videos (I often do mixed videography and photography) and Excire doesn't recognize the videos (and subfolders)

Thank you. Excire Foto 2024 is still on sale. There is no reason not to use it, if someone does not need all the new features of Excire Foto 2025.

Excire Foto 2024 is still a very good software, and will still be supported. No need to upgrade when you are happy with the features it has.
Same here, but for me the video support was the major feature I was looking for.
