I knew there was something I liked about this. William Castle is Director and voice of the whistler. He did House on Haunted Hill, 13 Ghosts, and The Tingler.
Barton MacLane shows up in so many movies... pretty much always the same character. I think this is the kind of show my mom would see when she was a girl. Cost a nickle. Usually there would be a cliff-hanger at the end of each episode.
Agree. Richard Dix looked like he was reading his lines from an image of a notebook in his head, that he would look at by using a blank space on a wall of the set.
Thanks to William Castle, the series benefited by the combination of dark German Expressionism, film noir, and Richad Dix's performances.

Thanks for posting in 1080p! Greatly appreciated.

Thank You another whistler mystery well done.
This woman knows mileage shows on odometers, not speedometers. That male actor/screenwriter, didn't.
Well the shadow knows..
Yes, the shadow does know.
The Whisler .. the Shadow..
Barton Mac Lane, Bogart's go to guy for a sinister figure.
Can't say I enjoyed the film as a whole.
The good, the bad and the innocent died and no happy ending for anyone.
The girls were nice though. ❤
None of the characters are likable including Gale. He was not pleasant when he met Stillwell.
Girl didn't get her inheritance. Bummer!
Dick Dix? what a name.
Very depressing 😢
is this a mystery series ?
No one knows. It's a mystery...
Voice Of The Whistler 1945 Film is another story, on youtube
The blonde is a coniving little fox. 😃
Mediocre movie. Might have better as a radio show, Thumbs up for posting though.
Isnt the detective the star of character "BLACKIE" ?
Chester Morris who looked similar to Regis Toomy played Boston Blackie.
.....Poor Casting....Shamus Gale Was Too Old And Enervated To Play A Convincing Tough Guy Detective !

Over and over. Again and again. Dark film. Can’t make out who or what or what’s happening. So who cares about the plot. Bye bye whistler in the dark.
