Oh my gosh I’ve been looking at these! I think the box it comes in is an homage to a travel desk. I really appreciate the explanation of the “twin tank” design!
Very nice pen! Unfortunately this version seems to be out of my price range. But you never know, when pens get "old" the price can sometimes drop when new ones arrive. The iridescence reminds me of TWSBI's Diamond Iris and Vac700 Iris pens though. I've seen another Pineider that looks very pretty and with a lower price. 😇🩵🙏🙌
This pen reminds me of my Twisbi Vac 700R in Iris with the clear body, rainbow colouring, and piston filling. Just the Twisbi doesn't have the twin tank. It's my first broad nibbed pen specifically for shimmer inks. It looks so pretty and will show off the characteristics of the ink you choose to use in it. I wonder how the twin tank deals with shimmer particles...
Funny you should mention that bit about the leaking. I had the same thing happen to me. I have tried 2 of these and both leaked either where yours or on the opposite end. I think Pineider must have QC issues.
@@theverbalremedy I disassembled the pen and then found the small plastic ring under the feed in the grip section. It was folded over so I corrected it and it was perfect!
@@mydandeliondiariesthanks for the reply. Italians are notoriously bad at QC. Visconti, Montegrappa etc...have the odd issue quite regularly. Good you were able to solve this yourself
I am brand new to expensive fountain pens (only used cartridges so far). What is the purpose of the "two tanks"? I see that there is a bunch of ink in one, and then it feeds to a smaller area. Does it help with flow?
The smaller tank is the "writing" tank, basically where the feed will pull the ink from first, then the bigger tank is where the extra ink is to refill the writing tank. I find that it does help with flow! Also, it is beneficial if you like to travel in airplanes because the vacuum seal.

You are so welcome! I think you are right about the box design and the travel desk :)
I've never heard of this one. Great video!
Thanks so much!

Thank you for sharing! It is very similar to the TWSBI's Diamond Iris :)
This seems like a huge step up in design from the Custom 823. Easily taking the entire vacuum rod apart is a huge plus.
Congrats on your new pen!! It's beautiful!
Thank you so much!

Not sure I would put shimmer in this pen, the twin tank is fairly small so I think it would have trouble mixing up the shimmer in the barrel.

That is so interesting! To fix it was very simple for me though. I hope you were able to fix yours!
@@mydandeliondiariesHi, how did you fix it? I have exactly the same pen and love it too.
