@@snitcharoothe8994Yeah, they refused to demote him and only demoted him after Vetex left the server then they were begging for Vetex to come back after doing all of that he originally left because of this mess.
@@Selectorch If rb was already demoted then the problem is solved, what's the point of raising awareness? Everybody who this concerns should already know the whole situation, it's just going to cause drama and a bigger rift between the wiki and the rest of the AO community.
@@snitcharoothe8994 I’d agree with you if the order of events happen in that way but he was only demoted recently to just a basic editor I don’t want him there at all they will just re promote him, banned users from AO should have 0 business hosting an informative site like the Wiki.
As an AO wiki member I have extremely mixed thoughts about this. I myself have never really interacted with Rb1 on the wiki or in any of the same servers we’re in as I actually try avoiding him at all costs. But after hearing about all this I’m like “Dang, Who even let this guy even near anywhere AO related” But him getting demoted from the wiki staff was a pretty good decision.

Selectorch. I’ve long since retired from the wiki moderator position since this incident happened so this post does not reflect the wiki staff’s views.
There are a few things I would like to say both in defense of Select, Rb1, and Vetex.
Rb1 certainly messed up in his way of handling the fact that he had the leaked files. He definitely could’ve handled it better.
Vetex had the right to get mad at his audacity for Rb1 has rubbed Vetex the wrong way in the past. However, in this drama, both of them are in the wrong and right.
Rb1 was in the right for his intention to make sure that he had permission from Vetex but he was in the wrong for doing it behind his back after Vetex said no. Also, I would like to clarify that when this video was uploaded, Rb1 was ALREADY demoted. Why are you asking him to be banned when he was already demoted. Isn’t that punishment enough? That is genuinely fucking stupid, he was punished and you are using your platform to give him more punishment. Select. Genuinely what the fuck. You should not be using your platform like this.
Anyways, I do believe Vetex was in the right to get upset at Rb1 for this. However, I do feel like he could’ve ranted with one message to clarify everything and avoided getting mad at people for criticizing him for the drama because this is the internet.
However, I was willing to agree some of your points until… it obviously became biased midway the beginning. I was happy that you said to not harass the wiki until… you gave that backended insult. That was made the entire message just worthless.
I find it interesting you never clarified that Rb1 was demoted when you could’ve clearly seen that on the wiki server. That just is interesting. You posted this video and never gave the update that said it was a little outdated. That there is unprofessional as a RUclipsr, Select, and there are people in your audience who think this, too. This video could’ve been much better but you let your vendetta and anger against Rb1 and Jack affect the presentation of information, which makes it extremely biased. People want unbiased information and they expect that from a game moderator to do that with their platform. But you didn’t. That is such a shame but oh well. That’s my two cents on this and see you around.

as of several days before this was made Rb1 has been stripped of his status as an admin and been reduced to a regular editor (albeit with senior editor roll which gives no permissions) many people in the wiki (including me) have expressed disappointment in his actions but we have been asked to not cause arguments around the topic. this change was made almost immediately after the whole thing went down.
I generally do not want him near any of it he is known to abuse his permissions act behind peoples back and do many other frowned upon things why is he still there.
@@Selectorch he has done a lot of good things for the wiki and for the most part has been abstinent from his old ways up til recently. so the general feeling among the wikians is that he did something wrong and deserves to be punished for it but he has done to much for us to outright ban him entirely. Hopefully he learns from this and we never have to go through this again.
He has not change in the past 3 years he has been in the community tho he has claimed to only to go back to his old ways. He generally doesn't care either he has already expressed he doesn't care because the first thing he said after seeing the video is thank you for the "clout" ill be leaking the place file to anyone who ask for it. That's super immature and he was already planning on doing so anyways...

A good portion of the wiki community are good people who just want to help out fellow players. How they handled the rb1 situation after all of this is disappointing. I hoped for a lot better from them. Spreading exploited assets and code is, and always will be, scummy and illegal.

Rb1 pinged him and asked if it was okay, vetex said "no I don't think it's a good idea since its a stolen place" and they did it anyways and then talked shit about him while they did it in a "private" chat. Vet responded saying "why ask when you're just going to do it anyways".

Your explanation of the wiki community is biased. Although these things are true. You forgot to mention a lot of positives. Rb has been enforcing the rules for a long time and from what ive been. He has been a great moderator. Vetex overreacted, and you are basically putting every wiki user in a negative light. That isn't true. Not every wiki user is guilty. You only want to cause more drama. This drama you mentioned was 1 week ago. We have all gone over it. No need to spread it.
Also yes, RB is bad, but your view on every wiki user that were completely innocent is bogus

As a wiki mod (clayel), personally I think this is too harsh towards rb1. He was the only wiki admin who actually did his job, and with over 3k edits you can tell he was active. He deserved to be removed from admin because of his mistakes, but he doesn’t deserve to be blasted.

every game vetex ever uploaded has had a copy exploited atleast once. these scripts arent that hard to get lol, and rb1 is definitely not the first person to do this to AO. What else explains all the reuploaded AO assets in the roblox studio toolbox that's been there for about a year now??
See thats not the issue its the fact the AO Wiki Team wanted to work with us and despite us voicing are distaste in those actions they still went ahead and did it behind our backs.

I don’t wish to be involved in the drama, nor do I wish to hurt anyone, so apologies if this sounds or comes off as rude
First and foremost. As an active wikian (I do not post, but I do watch over the place daily), I have seen parts of the drama, but not the root. For which you have covered. Apparently data-mining had occurred and to which I understand RBs demotion and such.
However, what I do wish to say is that many of the wikians (some better, some worst) are good people. However I don’t feel like some arguments are more justified than others. In fact, they more or less gave me a better understanding of the people around me, and without them… let us just say I would no longer be an artist who draws for the community, nor a player who cares for this game dearly, and more likely not on this planet to begin with.I do not wish for the entirety of a community (most of which, do enjoy the game), to be shamed for have known RB. I have not seen the leaks shown (the ones you showed in your own clip) and to which I say this:
I respect your feelings on the matter, but Please do not throw shame into the whole wiki and staff for being in association. I understand that I likely missed some key points, in which I would like to be corrected on if it is the case. I also do not agree with the some of the responses of fellow wikians, but beside that, they are (mostly) good people. And apologies for my small tangent
