Honestly, with how you were doing in episode 1, i was almost certain you weren’t ever making it to ssl. After this episode however, im almost certain you can make it. Especially with that double flip reset from across map at the end. It looked straight out of rlcs.
That little note at 3:15 with your observations is a really nice touch, it feels like something you stumbled upon yourself while training and not just some random advice
I am diamond 2 and have really good mechanics like I mean dobule reset type stuff. I got to this same point as you where I wanted to just get better I new it was my game sense but before I really hated practicing game sense but your last Video motivated me so much I worked so hard on game sense then at one point game sense became so hard it was annoying for me to learn so I kinda gave up but back on the grind cas of you. I'm glad this challenge is giving you a motivation to play and grind the game again. Just keep in mind to keep on updating the means by which you benchmark your progress - don't let the SSL MMR be your sole motivation or else you will burn out faster than you realize. Keep on eliminating one imperfection at a time as well as focus on getting better at things you think you are already good at. Don't let your motivation be so rank-centric. It's gonna be a very, very long journey - so if you really want to get there, make sure to make this series about the journey itself, not the destination :) GL

Like, it's already a very unrealistic goal - if you have 12000 hours in RL already and ur barely GC, the 'noob' gains are likely going away somewhat fast. Maybe if he improves his game sense dramatically, but I have a feeling that that will only get him so far.

What you're experiencing is exactly noob gains. You may have done some practice sporadically in the past, but you're now essentially teaching yourself a whole new skill from your particular ground level. Early gains are going to be quicker, but later you'll plateau and mostly just get more refined and consistent rather than hitting new stuff. With any luck, your motivation and enjoyment won't fall off for a long while.
For me to observe Nose Control, I might have to turn my graphics up a bit. Everything is a pixelated blurry mess from a distance and if I get close enough to see what they are doing, it might already be too late
Ok cbellwhile u have almost 3 times my hours u got me motivated. Started in 2017 got diamond in og season 7 champ in season 14. C3 solo q in 2s and 3s in season 3-5 and stopped grind there. Finally got decent connection in january and hit gc last season and this season. I should be kinda close or equal to u in skill now and im calling that im not gonna let myself be beat by you to ssl that easily. While i can only use console my ps4 for now and have no acces to bakkes mod or coaching im still gonna see if i can beat u... U better not make it easy for me
And me in plat still trying to get good air dribble control 😂, i mean i can kinda air dribble, but i lose the control so fast by 1 little tap to the wrong side of the ball.

I just thought he would be able to make weekly video or be able to put more content in a single video cause if you want to reach SSL, you need at least 30 hours per week imo
As a diamond who beat an SSL myself, I think you should focus on your game sense because your mechanics are good! You better warmup before your ranked games.

SSL Uprank MMR is 1875, not 1862. I think every Uprank MMR ends with a 5. (Sometimes your bakkesmod says you are 1875, but there's actually decimal mmr just rounded up, so you'd be 1874.8 for example, with your bakkesmod showing 1875 and due to the border being at exactly 1875 you wouldn't get the Uprank for the lack of 0.2 MMR.)

Try this next time: after collecting the points from your training, take a small break 5-10 mins. Because continuously playing rocket league for 2 hours is draining and that little break might make you play better in competitive. It’s like you said last vid, sometimes all you need is a good night’s rest.
