Hi @Amy Crawford we have used the hand sickle from Scythe Supply (scythesupply.com/blades.html). However this tool while very good is pricey. An economical alternative is a Japanese style hand sickle we have used before is illustrated at our Amazon Storefront (www.amazon.com/shop/baremtnfarm) Hope this helps!
@@BareMtnFarm is this the sickle, from Scythe Supply? I want to get something that will last a long time, can be sharpen and will hold an edge Gardener's Sickle A handy versatile tool to have in the garden and around the yard. This sickle is small enough to maneuver in between rows for cutting those weeds which have gotten out-of-control. Take it with you to the grape arbor for trimming around the trunks or out to the raspberry patch to trim the canes. Sharpens with file and whetstone. Size: 13.5"/34cm 8 oz. Right handed only.
Ya know.what would be really healpful is your schedule for.starting.seeds..im always late late late.because i.cant.seem to.figure it out..like what are u doing in august in your 8b garden.
Hi @Sislertx we have been reluctant to focus on specific seeding schedules due to the large variability within various USDA zones. Many times its not just the max/minheat but the latitude, sun intensity, coastal warming cooling influences etc. Thanks for asking though.
On an even smaller scale I use repurposed glass sliding doors to solarize
Cool idea! Definitely would work too.
Do you have a video on planting cover crop after solarizing?
Very interesting keep up the good work,. Cheers from UK
Thanks Grant. We appreciate you watching!
Nice video
Amazing videos!! Nice work. I'm learning a lot. Do you have any miracle method of erradicating Bermudagrass?
Not yet! I think repeated tarping/solarization mixed with dense cover cropping in between is about the best option for bad infestations
It keeps the soil warm under the plastic
Do you have a link to the 'small hand scythe'?

This was an earlier video. We have a better microphone system now. Thank you for watching.
Try opening your ears, Buddy. Sounds better than fine to me.
I like your videos, but be careful, those are geoengineered streaks in the sky above you.
