Welcome back QUEEN! 🚀🚀
Steve Howe of Yes played the Spanish Guitar bit.
It's amazing that something so sad Freddie can turn into a song so amusing as Slightly mad. Freddie fear Aids induced dementia.
Agreed, Welcome❤ This is a legendary album Sheila, you’re absolutely right.
The vital rounding off of an incredible career 😅
Thanks and greetings to all from Cape Town South Africa
I missed Queen's reactions, I got impressed by flamenco touch based in Queen's style in the song Innuendo, Freddie is awesome is the thing to be a genius, the whole album is a true masterpiece, thanks Rory🔥🎸👍
I forget just how great this album is! Even though Freddie was at the very end of his life, his voice is still so strong. Thanks Rory for doing this album, much appreciated!
Freddie was jamming so well in I can’t live without you. The last album was not out until after Freddie died.
Innuendo gets better every time I hear it.
Thank you Sheila ! And thank you Rory !
Queen is back ❤
Thanks Rory
Chills Freddie’s vocal. Innuendo was Freddie’s favorite scrabble word.
Yes. In this album they went back to their original drawer. They just went into the studio and had fun. They knew Freddie was dying by then and they really stuck together and made great music. The video of Headlong shows them just enjoying themselves.
At this point in Freddie’s life he stayed at home a lot and enjoyed what was left of it with Jim and making music. He didn’t have to impress anyone anymore. He said he was content.
It is fantastic that you are finally doing this album, this is definitely one of my favorite Queen albums, Freddie died 10 months after this album was released, but you are correct it does show an incredible new direct for the band, despite being around for 20 years at this point they still had something to give. Freddie did some of his best singing on this album. Innuendo is one of Queen's best songs and Don't Try So Hard is very beautiful and moving, with incredible singing, Freddie sings so youthfully more like he did in the 70's, on this track. I am Going Slightly mad is a track that is good at creating a picture in your head I love the effect of Freddie singing low there instead of high. Headlong is just an awesome rock song.
Thanks Rory for coming back to the greatest band ever🤘
Innuendo is derrived from Latin and it means "to hint." It is a delicious word that sounds like a whisper in and of itself. The Spanish Guitar part is Steve Howe (Yes Band) and Brian. Howe couldn't believe that Queen wanted him to play on their album let alone on the title track and he also didn't know for sure that he could do it. He practiced a lot and then just nailed it. It was rare for Queen to put others on their studio recordings so this was quite high praise of Howe. I'm Going Slightly Mad was Freddie referring to how he was feeling with some of the meds he was taking. I am grateful that he could laugh about it and just kind of enjoy the ride. Headlong was written by Brian and you can really hear that guitar driven rock and roll feel to it. I can't sit still when I am listening to it. Ride The Wild Wind has a David Bowie or Billy Idol feel to it, to me. Freddie's voice was incredible all the way to the end.
It’s so crazy Rory I watch you all the time without commenting but I always comment when you react to Queen. It’s not only bc Queen is my fave band ( I have other super bands on top of my list ) I think it’s bc in the musical sense we have 4 geniuses here… including composing… and I have never gotten over the fact they stayed together til Freddie died and the waste of what they would have done in the future just kills me. Anyway thanks for your terrific reaction to this stellar album ✌🏼🌷🥰
Ride the wild wind. Roger in his race cars. Sounds like at Rawhide lol for those of us who remember that program. Also love Freddie’s baritone parts.
Oh yeah! Gonna watch this! 😲👑
Hey Rory.....Long time no see!! I've had so much going on over the last several months. Lovely to have you back on Queen.❤
Freddies medication was making him a little weird. That’s why he said he’s going mad. Check out the great video for this one and also the making of it. Penguins pooping on the bench they were sitting in.
That last tune (Ride the Wild Wind) and the lyric, "It ain't dangerous, enough for mei" is to me someone who knows this IS the last ride. I think that is behind the driving force of this album. No innuendo needed. Bandmates are tethered to Freddie on this last album in his lifetime.
Ride the wild wind I think is Roger is indicating how he is coping with what is going on with Freddie and the other two members. The line that hits is Sometimes I feel so low...... It's the only sad lyric. Love this song. In fact the whole album
I with you about Don't try so hard. I think the first verse was advice to the band and friends. Second verse I think is partly Freddie knowing how he was in the beginning but as they grew he knew he and the rest of the band should keep ego in check.
They never obeyed musical rules he's reminding them
You should watch the video that goes with this. Great stuff.
I know everyone goes nuts about Bohemian Rhapsody but for me this is Queens Masterpiece, so sad it came at the end of Freddies days... . Am I also correct in thinking that Steve Howe is the only non band member to record with the band?
I thought you reacted to the full album previously ? Why do it again.
