Jason & Harrison - Thanks for your work to convey my Dad's passion for aviation & N34TP in the story! I wrote a long comment below, but you did great job showcasing just how much the plane meant to our family.
I’m the son of Tom, who owned the plane for 39 years & Jason references in the video. First, a genuine thank you to, Jason & Harrison, for an amazing job helping pay homage to and helping my Dad share the story of N34TP. Thank you for honoring him in such an incredible way. As an inventor & engineer, my Dad is the most meticulous & passionate person I’ve ever known. I was 3-years old when my dad bought the plane, so nearly every childhood memory I have is intertwined with “Princess.” (My Mom & Dad named each of their planes.) As I watched Jason & Harrison tell the story of the plane and so many things came rushing back: 1. The sound of the master avionics switch brought me to tears. I haven’t heard that fast clicking sound in 20-years. (Timestamp: 49:09) 2. I can still remember the smell of the fuel, when I stuck the little cup into the test hole during pre-fight checks. 3. The reason the underside of the plane looks so good is because I was the only kid whose Saturday chore was using foaming “Scrubbing Bubbles” to clean the plane’s undercarriage at 7-years old :) One of my favorite stories of flying with my Dad was our trip to Oshkosh in 1989 (or 1990) for the annual airshow. We would camp next to the plane and my dad wanted to get one of the best spots possible. (Those of you who have camped at Oshkosh know just how many rows of planes there are and the long walk each day.) So at 7 or 8 years old, I hopped out of the plane after landing and my dad gave me a handheld walkie-talkie. I was on a mission, I had to find the best spot. I went from row to row while my dad was still taxiing and found it…a spot all the way up in Row 8! I was ecstatic and didn’t pay attention to the orange cone in the middle of the spot. I radioed Dad and told him to taxi up to Row 8. A few minutes later he emerged at the end of the row and I started marshaling him in. As he turned into the spot, he gradually had to give it more power…then more power….then more power….eventually getting it in. (Apparently the orange cone was marking a low-lying area in the grass.) After Dad shut down the engine and popped the door open, a friendly guy emerged from behind the plane and walked up to my dad. He greeted my dad with a friendly “Welcome to Oshkosh! That’s an incredible plane!” My dad, knowing the brotherhood amongst the aviation community replied, “Well thank you! She’s a Bonanza B36TC!” The guy responded back - “Great…now can you come help me put my tent back up?” (Apparently those turbochargers work pretty well!) I’ll find time to add more memories here, but I’m so grateful another pilot will get the opportunity to enjoy what was a major part of my childhood. (Reposted comment at request of Jason)
This was an amazing video which really brought me to tears about the story behind it, as well as your reply here. Your dad obviously took very much pride in that plane and took good care of it. And it's awesome that it will be flying again once more ❤
Good times and great memories! Blessings to your Father, to you, and to all of your siblings! Time spent with family are priceless, so keep making more of them!!

Been to Spruce Creek a bunch of times to go get food and walk around and look at all the planes. Always noticed this Bonanza just sitting around, very cool to see what a hidden gem it really is! Glad it will be flying sooner than later again!
Dude, what a time capsule! I literally bursted into laughter when I saw the fuel, absolutely unreal. If an abandoned airplane had a chance of flying again, this one is at the top of the list! What a great steal, happy for you!

Great find. However, you only need the fuel pump to prime the engine before start. If the pump is on it's running way too rich. Thus the smoke. Also, that's why it didn't shut down after the 1st start up. Good Luck!
My immediate thought was "Split-window, Stingray coupe.” This is my dream airplane. If I had it and the weather was too ugly for flying, it go out to the airport just to sit in it and whisper sweet nothings to it. What a doll.❤
Kudos to the former owner -- a well maintained plane will last a lot longer than a poorly maintained one. Glad this beauty survived the Florida sun and is going to a good home!
Bittersweet Bonanza, but truly a genuine Unicorn esp. w/1400 hrs. My belated condolences to the PO on the passing of his beloved wife...that part of the story hit me hard and his sentimental attachment to the airplane made it this all the more of a heartfelt story. Continued good luck and Godspeed.
Such a nice Airplane! When you open the door and I saw that interior, I started salivating! What a beautiful iconic airplane for sure. Very nice. I hope it goes to a nice home, and people get to fly all over the place and enjoy it and make incredible memories. Take care.
What an amazing find! It's unfortunate the circumstances of the seller having to sell the aircraft, but I'm sure he will be happy to know that someone will get to enjoy it. That interior is amazing, and honestly, I wouldn't even change the interior, it's pretty mint the way it is.

My Dad had a C model V tail, I called him to ask him if his burned oil, he advised that his burned oil like no other, he tried to slow the oil burn down but it just burned oil. My Dad is 94 and loved flying, I. The only one in my family that picked up flying, I have 40 acres south of Tulsa Oklahoma, I fly ultra light aircraft off of my land. ( Tukan Trikes)
Such a great find Jason, I had no doubt it would fire right up. And of course and bird next had to come flying out, par for the course. Congratulations Amigo!
Jason that is a fantastic airplane. The interior looked like a time capsule, in brand new condition! It fired right up, much easier than I thought it would, and I assumed it would start easily, just not that easily! What a fantastic purchase.
That plane looks amazing as it is. It has an amazing set of instrumentation in the panel. Looks like we may be disappointed to find there are no birds nests inside the air frame. At 19:54 there is a sign that says "No acrobatic manuvers approved except those in the flight manual.". Inquiring minds want to know what acrobatic maneuvers are approved. :) One suggestion. Take the previous owner up for a flight after the plane is flying again.
This is a hell a nice unit!! We’ve got a Beechcraft SIERRA . It’s four place , 200horse , retractable landing gear.. would love to have the 6 place turbo
What an beauty, you would be mad not to keep this one Jason!!👌My guess two turn to Start, Starting off the button after that long is an indication of its condition..

The days of old steam gauge aviation still need to be appreciated especially in high performance aircraft in my opinion! While everything is prone to failure at a moments notice I’d trust an ole steam gauge way before any electronic device. I believe electronics have their advantages but there’s always an iPad for those tasks. Like was said earlier!, definitely keep the panel. The aviate and navigate part is slowly being turned over to electronics slowly but surely and the two are becoming a lost art with everything the electronics do.
What a find. My uncle had a V tail Bonanza that was such a little hot rod. Loved flying in it. If that was my plane, I'd leave the panel as is. I predict it will start right up.
Nice Bo! But that elevator looks like it’s loaded with filiform corrosion. (Pin worm pattern). That spinners not legal. (Can’t have a chrome plated spinner). When you do the gear, drop the struts off completely and do the middle seal. If that seal fails the gear possibly partially collapse and take out the wing skin when the gear retracts. It’s smoking because you have the boost pump on. Turn the boost pump off before you start. Youre flooding the engine and that’s why it wouldn’t shut down when you pulled the mixture.
@@quietobserver4636 it causes imbrittalment (weakens the aluminum) and the chrome itself can mask cracks. So having a weakened spinner on a prop going 2700rpm coming off in flight can be a safety issue.
