Ladies and gents, you hear Glenn’s screams getting louder and longer? Now that’s what I call results! Congratulations on all you progress glenn, thanks for being an inspiration!
I play the 7-string version of this EXACT guitar (with the Evertune Bridge), and its without doubt THE BEST guitar I've ever owned. Extremely easy to play, sounds incredible at low and high ends, is well-made and looks incredible. Solar are making THE best metal guitars rn IMO. Highly recommened and great review!
I ordered a custom 7 string with no fret markers. It was my 1st 7 and 1st with no fret markers, and i got used to it very fast. It also improved my playing alot and made me subconsciously learn tge fret board by feel. So for anyone worried, dont be, tgis guitar looks steller.
also playing in front of a mirror will let you see your fingers while breaking the habit of looking down which is always what ends up making my neck more sore than a night in the pit
I have a few guitars with no fret markers, but they all have them on the side of the neck, so you still know where the 5th, 7th, 9th, 12th etc. still are. No need to do it "by feel"
What gauges do you use on your bottom 4 strings? I just bought my first 7, and I keep trying to put the equivalent of light/heavy hybrids on it. But straight up only Ernie Ball and Stringjoy sell them (10-64, which is 10-52 + a 64) and only online. Is there something about 7-strings I don't know? Are gummier strings better on them, for some reason? The lighter strings are super common, but it's hard to find heavier ones.
@@pickledparsleyparty I know you didn't ask me, but I have 4 seven string guitars, 2 8 string guitars and 2 downtuned 6 strings, so I know a little about this. With a seven string, there's no need to buy heavy/light strings, unless you like them or you want to downtune the whole guitar. I have 10's on all of mine, no issue. 9's would be fine too, as long as you don't pick too hard. I do, however, have thick gauge strings (low) and normal (high) for my downtuned 6 strings (down tuned to drop C). This is to maintain the tension on the neck, as the E is downtuned 4 steps. So to answer your question, if you're planning to keep the tuning (or even drop the B to an A, which is what I do), there's no need to use heavy/light string sets, unless you pick really hard, and/or you like the sound of thicker gauges.
Looks amazing, sounds amazing, and so does your playing, Glenn. Honestly, it’s been super amazing watching you learn. Most adults don’t have the capacity.
That is a beauty, Glenn. I love hearing your improvements in playing, though you know someone out there is going to talk smack no matter what. Keep up the great work and the brutal honesty! P.S.: Nice "Book of Mormon" reference!

Dude, loved the review and I must say you can shred and do that V proud! I am saving my pennies and know what my next guitar needs to be! Keep rocking and make it loud!
I'm not fond of the visual decisions on this, but I bet it's fun as hell to play. On the other hand, that purple-blue LTD may have been the most delicious guitar to appear anywhere on the channel. If there's a guitar to never give away, that's it.
Idk the visuals on the guitar are sick but that's just my opinion. Paint job kinda makes it impossible to pull up if you're doing a classic rock gig tho lmao
@@wingsoficarus1139 Don't misunderstand. I don't think it looks terrible by any stretch. My preferences simply lean toward other approaches, that's all. If this showed up at my front door, I'd be elated.

Awesome video, super cool guitar! And your playing has definitely gone a long way since the channel started, good on you man. Keep doing what you're doing!
YES!!! Mother Sun! Glad to see that in there, but there's (almost) no way it's going to be released, sadly. Great review, I really enjoy hearing your opinion on these guitars.
If we’re thinking of the same 90s X-Men theme, I doubt you’ve ever heard the song “Born to the Grave” by the British AOR band Ten (from the Album “The Twilight Chronicles”); but the riff of that song kind of sounds a bit like that X-Men opening theme.
We have the 1.7V with the Evertune bridge and it came with locking tuners (I despise constantly having to tune, because I'm trying to record). Exact same patina and colour for all the hardware and the body paint. We really love it. It did have a loose volume pot that I had to fix, and one of the cavity screws has a stripped hole. We got B stock, but that had to do with a dent in the neck we don't even notice, along with a slightly visible neck join. We accepted those flaws readily, since we knew we'd likely damage it anyway. I'm ashamed to say, I was the first one to ding one of the wings by banging it on the sharp edge of my desk. My husband isn't the type to get pissy about that kind of thing. He says it doesn't affect the sound and quality of it. The playability, despite the action being high at the moment, is pretty damn good. I half-assed the setup on the Evertune, because I'm not intending to keep the factory strings for long. I prefer tens with a wound third, so I don't get so many unintended harmonics from the third string. When I do the string change I'll work the truss rod to get it right. I'm bearing in mind this did come from overseas, so I'm guessing it went through a wide variety of climates to get to Canada. We've gotten used to not having the front markers, and my husband says it's less confusing for him to play just using the side markers. They're Luminlay, which is a nice feature.
Beautiful grit on that "GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD MOOOORNING", i think you should show some of your vocals in a mix and add it to your 'How to mix Heavy Vocals' playlist
Solar guitars are AMAZING! I own two of them now and couldn’t speak more highly about the instruments and the overall customer experience. HIGHLY recommend them!
Solars are absolutely great. I’ve tried one and it seemed like it played just as good as my dads les paul and my custom V. Plus It probably stays in tune better. Price/manufacture should never be the first concern
About the supply chain - I bought T2.6N model like a week ago, it came within 3 days of me clicking "Buy" button (Spain -> Poland). I was surprised it was so fast. No cracked fretboard, in tune, string action is perfect - absolutely love this thing!
That guitar sounds as angry as it looks! Love it. But in all seriousness, the rig you’re running this guitar through sounds absolutely stellar. Cheers.
That tone you're getting is M A S S I V E!! You're going to need a cage if it gets any more monsterous than that! That is a nice finish.. I do like seeing the grain of the wood.

My solar V1.6frc is without question my most comfortable guitar to play standing up. Perfectly balanced and sits in the exactly right spot. There’s a reason it’s the guitar dedicated to my band. I used to have it at home in E and it was good, but the tuning stability sometimes got a little wobbly, but then I put it in B standard and now it’s just absolutely flawless. Try putting your solar in a baritone tuning, you probably won’t regret it.
What else is cool is that this isn't just a signature model, its a gutarists own BRAND. Nice to see some of these folks taking leap and getting into the biz and making their own "tools" to their specs, features, and innovations, and designed for players.
Great looking guitar. Really want to pick up a Solar and now that they have an option to get some of their models with a sustaniac, I might pull the trigger.
I have two Solars - one cracked and one didn't, so sometimes I think it just depends on how much they rush on the fretboard. The one that didn't crack is one that was already in stock, the one that did crack (and cracked a lot - half the fretboard!) was a preorder that kept getting delayed. I know your location also makes a difference as apparently the ebony is more likely to crack when you live in drier environments. That being said, I still love my Solars
I loved your intro, reminds of my teens when we kept shouting our lungs with some friends out whenever we'd get hammered. Apparently, we used to call that singing as we tried to emulate whatever Paradise Lost singer did in their "Silent" song. Good stuff.
For half a sec I thought you were breaking into some Anthrax riffs (still a massive fan), chops have gotten really good lately Glenn! Keep up the great work!!

This 7string Canibalismo is my first ever V that I don't want to sell. Proper 6/10. Just saying... ;)
