My favorite was probably: 6. The most honest city. Our capital, Helsinki, is the most honest capital in the world. Reader's Digest did an experiment in 16 cities around the world to test the honesty of their citizens by dropping 12 wallets in each city. In Helsinki, 11 wallets were returned out of twelve whereas only one in Portugal's capital Lisbon. This took the Portuguese city right to the bottom of the honesty list, as can be seen on the article Most Honest Cities. I've had a moment where a guy forgot his (pretty fat) wallet on the table. I could have just taken it. Instead my first thought was to return it. So, I did, and I could see how happy and relieved he was. It made me feel good and still does whenever I think about it. I did have a passing thought "I could have just taken it", but that was later and I just knew that my conscience wouldn't have left me alone.
Me and my parents were visiting Helsinki last summer coming back from our holiday in Austria. We sat down at a bar. Later, a couple men from the neighbouring table came to ask us to watch their stuff and beers while they had a smoke outside. We were strangers. I felt very good and trusted. And I'm happy this trusting coulture is alive and well in Helsinki.
Sadly Aamulehti dropped the ball on at least a few of the things. Finland doesn't consume the most alcohol even per capita. 12.5 liters isn't apparently even in the top 10. The video game marathon was specifically for Halo games, the world record for video game marathon in general is quite a bit longer. And yes, I am fun at parties. Bit of a tongue in cheek video, I don't mind that, annoyed by an actual newspaper (Aamulehti) with actual journalists not taking the time to do 5 minutes of googling for an article. Olkiluoto 3 is expensive because fuck ups i think. Like if i recall correctly indian firm that was designing it didn't account frosting of the earth in their calculations so there were huge problems. Also There is some trouble with firm from france that is doing it. It is way over time and way over budget. So there are some political and financial issues there. If i recall correctly about the matter. It also seems it's second most expensive building in the world. "he powerplant being built in Eurajoki was originally supposed to cost 3,2 Billion euros in 2003. The project has suffered delays and is now expected to be complete ten years late in 2019. The price for the purchaser, TVO, the total price is now some 5,5 Billion."
Many reasons. The ambitions were too high, the execution couldn't keep up. Evolutions are usually better than revolutions. Improve slightly on the last generation and you'll be good. Try to revolutionize and 9/10, you'll mess up.
@@Speed_7545 The ground doesn't freeze in India. This is one of the jobs that shouldn't "go to china". There are great engineers in Oulu. My dad teaches Strength of Materials and Steel Structures at the university. His students work for big projects like this upbroad during summer breaks. Why didn't they hire some of those? Finnish engineers might look more expensive initially, but if they do it right the first time, it's cheap... compared to what the price turned out to be in the end with the foreign engineers...
You got it the wrong way around - I exactly meant that the 13 kg was likely just the home consumption. That's why I mentioned the other places you didn't count in your coffee usage. So you consumed more than 13 kilos. Easily 20 kilos :)
I tried to count it and if one cup of coffee is ~8g and there's around 62 cups per 500g bag of coffee, 22 bags of coffee only means around 3.5 cups per day, not an impossible amount to anyone I think But I took short math in high school, don't trust me too much
That 2:32 must be some old data. Alcohol consumption in Finland is lower than that, in 2016 it was 10.7 litres and coming down. The 2106 figure in UK was 11.4 and Ireland 13.0. Source: data.worldbank.org/indicator/SH.ALC.PCAP.LI?end=2015&name_desc=false&start=2015&view=map
Average alcohol consumption in Finland is LOWER than average in European countries. We have for sure lot of heavy users, BUT we have much more of moderate users and teetotallers than most of the European countries.
How can you two last only one pack of coffee for several weeks? We (okay, there are three coffee drinkers in this household) have to get a new one each week. But a fun video nonetheless :)
2:33 I would say that South-Koreans drink more alcohol than we do but. Would be a suprise if the country with a shittonne of alcohol laws, had the biggest consumption of alcohol. Suomi perkele, kansan ylpeys.
Where i live in finland i could leave my keys to my door and no one would take them what a nice place finland edit and we use two of the coffee bags per week
Finns must be loudest at yelling, because we bottle up so much in silence. Lots of loud shouts deposited, just waiting for the opportunity to burst out.
Yes, on average per person of course. Since many people, like children do not drink coffee at all, those who do drink coffee have to drink more than the average to get an average of 9.9 For example, if half the people do not drink hot drinks at all, or prefer tea or cocoa, everyone in the other half has to drink 8.4 cups a day.
Actually according to WHO we're number 32 when it comes to alcohol consumption. For example average German person drinks over 25% more alcohol than average Finn. In many countries people drink small amount of alcohol every day (for example dinner), but typical Finn consumes alcohol 1-4 times per month.

My hubby drinks coffee, and he alone drinks about 3 to 4 packet of coffee per month. Finnish working men drink coffee more then water or any other drink.
IS Hubby / Your Husband ?
yeah?
22 bags of 500g coffee per one person thats alot we buy then just over to 100 coffe bags a year we are 3 in my family all we 3 drink i drink about 7-10 cups a day im a finn yes :D
Those alcohol and coffee amounts are just averages. I drink neither and I can't be the only one.
The snake was my favourite
Assembly was the biggest demoparty. There was Dutch competition.
Future Crew's Second Reality was the PC demo before vid cards. Triton's [something] was no match. Maybe tighter code but lesser artistic expression.
You totally should react to ievan polka!!!
Dave ylu forgott that the first mphetamine overdose recorded was from a finn called aimo
Well I drink a lot of coffee and last year I counted every 500g package I consumed in 12 months.
13 kilos. Just for me.
Ootki vähä adhd... Hhahaha
@@JayTheCursedLegend mitenkä niin??!!
Kukaan ei ole nähny mitään ja kiistän kaiken!
And that only at home? I bet you visited cafés and and drank coffee at friends places
@@timomastosalo at home. If you don't believe then don't.
Mutta ihan kotosalla se tuli hörpittyä. Kahvilat yms on sitte erikseen.
You got it the wrong way around - I exactly meant that the 13 kg was likely just the home consumption. That's why I mentioned the other places you didn't count in your coffee usage.
So you consumed more than 13 kilos. Easily 20 kilos :)
Would be nice to know what we are worst at! Guessing footboll... 🤔

Hyvä video!
4:51 and angry birds is also made in finland
I tried to count it and if one cup of coffee is ~8g and there's around 62 cups per 500g bag of coffee, 22 bags of coffee only means around 3.5 cups per day, not an impossible amount to anyone I think
But I took short math in high school, don't trust me too much
I got a bad coffee addiction from 2-3 cups a day last year. Now I can't go one day without at least one cup, preferrably a half one after.
At icehokkey probably
In finland we have world smallest restaurant, here in Iisalmi 😎
How can you two last only one pack of coffee for several weeks? We (okay, there are three coffee drinkers in this household) have to get a new one each week. But a fun video nonetheless :)
My gaming record is 26.5 hours straight
Well, from my perspective, Finland has the best RALLY events and motorsports in general. And Finns are the best fans of it!
Finland has the funniest ever rally driver video on youtube. The "up the asshole of Timo" one.
A single bag of coffee lasts you for weeks? I barely get 5 full days from a single bag. And that is just counting myself.
Do an icehockey challenge
Cleanest tap water.. well if nokia city doesn’t count then mayby lol.
That new light makes your eyes look creepy
2:33 I would say that South-Koreans drink more alcohol than we do but. Would be a suprise if the country with a shittonne of alcohol laws, had the biggest consumption of alcohol.
Suomi perkele, kansan ylpeys.
Where i live in finland i could leave my keys to my door and no one would take them what a nice place finland edit and we use two of the coffee bags per week
video: Finns are number 1. coffeeholics
me: bruhh... * sips coffee from a bigass mug *
Please do a video where you tell where we sucked at
Finns must be loudest at yelling, because we bottle up so much in silence.
Lots of loud shouts deposited, just waiting for the opportunity to burst out.
I did some maths and figured that in order to consume 9.9kg of coffee per year, you have to drink about 4.2 cups per day. So it is done quite easily
Yes, on average per person of course. Since many people, like children do not drink coffee at all, those who do drink coffee have to drink more than the average to get an average of 9.9
For example, if half the people do not drink hot drinks at all, or prefer tea or cocoa, everyone in the other half has to drink 8.4 cups a day.
Hey dave cad
Hey!
Actually according to WHO we're number 32 when it comes to alcohol consumption. For example average German person drinks over 25% more alcohol than average Finn. In many countries people drink small amount of alcohol every day (for example dinner), but typical Finn consumes alcohol 1-4 times per month.
