Manila is wonderful including its traffic. It is always a place where international singers love to perform because of the wonderful people. God bless the Philippines!
In the Philippines is traffic especially what you've said. In manila if theirs no concert it would less the traffic It's normal that the time of traffic is longer because theirs concert 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
Traffic is common in every metropolis. There's heavy traffic during that time because of Coldplay concert at the Philippine Arena which is located in Bulacan along North express way. Same as what happened last year when Bruno Mars had concert. If there's no big event at the Arena, there's no heavy traffic along the way. Thanks for this video, hope will create better solution and good suggestion (^c^)"
One of the possible solutions for this that many experts have suggested, is to put/distribute companies who have offices in the capital to the nearby provinces because most of the traffic is caused by people living in the provinces going to their work offices in Manila, anyway. As someone who lives north of Manila who used to work in Manila, too, I agree to that suggestion. But many people either didn't want that, or they just didn't care.
the NCR is not interested in distributing/sharing businesses outside its region because it would be a loss on income tax for them, its not because the people dont want it or dont care, its that they have no choice because its our politicians who ultimately decide
Hey Firstpost, some of the stock footage you used is from Thailand. We don't drive on the left in the Philippines and we certainly don't have Thai characters on our plates. Cheers
Take note, there were 2 big events happening in the same area at the same time. So expect traffic from all areas. Unfortunate that CM noticed. Its a good thing to highlight though for the government to expedite infras Correction: the events i mentioned didnt happen at the same time. Last day concert for Coldplay is prep day for NCT. My bad. Still, i can see the foot traffic for both.
Philippine Arena has the disadvantage of one needing to drive to head there. Unlike Araneta Colosseum which is right in the city and is well connected by public transportation including rapid transit or metro. The concert organizers did not even planned to provide shuttle services from certain vantage points around Metro Manila and doing so will ease the traffic issue.
When almost all the heavy, slow-moving traffic video clips used in the report are actually in Bangkok, Thailand (1:37, 1:44, 2:05, 2:11, 2:19, 2:25, 2:46, 3:11, 3:18, 3:55), and almost all traffic clips that are actually in the Philippines are light to moderately moving... Not denying the fact that Manila has nightmarish traffic jams, but I hope the visuals used are really Manila traffic. PS: I am Pinoy and have lived all my life in Manila, and a part of it in Bangkok. Both have hellish traffic jams. Other infrastructure is another story.✌🏻 🇵🇭🚦🇹🇭🫰🏻
As a citizen, The President is just like a normal human being, going to a concert like that I think no one in this world to stop him from going, for his own safety as a leader of his own country for his protection he needs to be transported on his own safe transport, by the way I lived in New York City, Houston I've been to LA traffic is bad too during rush hour so?
Why are you defending him? The fact that NATIONAL resources were even used at all to fund a PERSONAL affair is already questionable. If the PSG reasons out that it was because of possible security risks, then the right action would be NOT TO ATTEND. Is Marcos attending the concert an official state event? NO. Is it a charity? NO. It was for LEISURE, drill that into your head.
The President has the right to go to any concert and use the Presidential chopper as mandated by law as his privilege. The President is a VIP for he is the most important person of the land. Weather he use his own private Chopper or the Presidential Chopper the government will still secure him and use resiurces of the government as he is the President of the Land.
@@Makaandog7804 hahahaha. And this ladies and gentlemen is why the philippines will continue to be abused by corrupt politicians. Your mindset boggles me to the core. Those funds could have been used for better more logical things. You make him out as some sort of king who can do whatever he wants on a whim. No; he's a PUBLIC SERVANT, not a king.
It's why our country's progress is slower than most (if not THE slowest) because we spend a lot of time in traffic that could have been spent on time being productive.
Coming from the province, my initial encounter with the traffic in Manila was shocking. Nevertheless, I am uncertain whether they mentioned it in the report, but it appears to be lacking by omitting, whether intentionally or not, the government's remedy, which is the ongoing construction of the Manila Subway, which is expected to begin operation gradually in 2027 and attract 370,000 daily ridership. While it may not entirely resolve the issue, it can certainly assist in alleviating traffic congestion.
All Filipino wants to work in Manila because of Manila Rate. If only the government expands or make the whole nation the same rate per day they would no longer neede to go to Manila to work. And in the Philippines? The harder your work the smallest the salary rate you will get.
Traffic is life in Manila. Filipinos are used to it. Street vendors enjoy it because they can sell their goods while their customers are in the car. Drivers learned how to pass the time by singing while listening to the radio.
At least you only get to experience it and not *live* with it. I havent been to the concert but I heard it was good, still, thanks for dropping by our humble country. You made a lot of people happy. 😊
There is an ongoing construction of train system called North-South Luzon Commuter Railways and MRT 7 that are both will help the commuters to go from South to Northern part of Luzon Island where Manila is located. And I don't think Manila has the worst traffic in the world. I'm using trains and jeepney to get around and it's very easy to navigate.
and some congested city has its own traffic problem not only in the Philippines, well tnx Coldplay for choosing as you concert venue for your world tour. Njoy thier music
not really PH loses billions every year because of traffic and Manila's traffic has been around for decades, but yeah, the Philippines is indeed booming
i am an Indian living in Manila and from Muntinlupa to Alabang it use to take me an 1.5 hours almost and its hardly 4-5 km and finally i shifted to laguna for a peaceful driving experience everyday hardly their are proper roads and the wider roads which are normal roads in other countries are so called skyways here and are highly chargable
Help is on the way though. Once the expanded MRT/LRT railway system goes online, it should decongest a lot of that traffic. hopefully it's so good that Filipinos might prefer it to private cars altogether.
Be happy you experience traffic due to the influx of fans during your concert,,be warry if there is no traffic near the venue because it only means they are not interested with your music,,take it as a complimnent rather than a complain😂
Well said about the traffic in Manila, insanely accurate. If there is such thing as planned obsolescence in gadgets, this is instead of prioritizing , money talks here unfortunately.
That's actually the opposite. A progressive nation should have an effective and efficient public transpo. That's unfortunately the Philippines as a nation don't have.
Thanks for noticing our heavy traffic Ours is really the worst, everyday I get home exhausted because of the heavy traffic.. Don't be sensitive guys, I know everyone is complaining too
I travelled from the airport in Mumbai to the Taj Mahal Palace in 2005, back then I thought traffic in Mumbai was bad. I guess I am so numbed by the daily traffic in Metro Manila I couldn't tell it is has gone worst.
That's the thrill !! when you go to Manila Philippines🇵🇭 that's why they call it The "Thriller in Manila" 👍👍🇵🇭.pinoy ako😍 I LOVE THE PHILIPPINES❤🇵🇭PHILIPPINE ARENA🇵🇭👍👍
The Philippine president knows better than to take on the traffic. He took a helicopter to go to the concert. #ourtaxesatwork Interesting though that some of the footage you used is from Bangkok. You can clearly see a Sukhumvit Road sign! 😂
Traffic was caused by the very big number of people coming to the Coldplay concert at the Philippine Arena in Sta. Maria Bulacan. Malls are built on areas where there is heavy traffic as it means there are a lot of people converging which means "business". If there were less people attending the concert, there would have been no traffic but as it is about 55,000 people attended it and so whereever you hold it with that sizable crowd, expect heavy traffic.
Whilst it's true that the traffic was heavy specifically main roads in Metro Manila, it's a weekend coupled by this huge concert of Coldplay held at one of the world largest indoor arena "Philippine Arena" located 20 kms north of Metro Manila at the North Luzon Expressway. During weekend workers from Metro Manila go back to their respective provinces. Hence, you'll see this huge traffic at the toll gates. Furthermore, there are many infrastructures being build along the way that also caused traffic. The good thing about seeing the number of cars on the road is a sign of booming economy in the country. On the issue of the President being present in the concert is ludicrous. It's the right of any individual to enjoy his/her weekend. My take.
It's the Political opposition who keeps on complaining about it because they don't know the word security. It's a nightmare for any Presidential Security with the President being stuck in traffic like that. He can be an easy target of Xi's hitman.
You gotta to be a dumbass to think a heavy traffic such as what we have here in MM is a sign of booming economy... If we have a booming economy, then we would have an efficient way of moving people.
@@PH_Resident_2021 A "booming" economy means "progressing or developing". The countries you described are developed nations. We are currently building-up our infrastructure. All we have to do is wait for it to be finished. I thought every Filipino knew that. Btw, public transpo abroad can be as crappy as ours. Try NYC. Just trying to be fair.
As a Filo in Ph, we have traffic because we have a government run by businessmen or influence of rich families. There are more private cars than mass transportation. No mass transport project except the MRT and LRT from Marcos admin but implemented in latter presidents time. Everybody is waiting for the completion of the NCR subway by 2029.

The traffic situation in the Philippines is extremely challenging, impacting not only the nation's capital but also extending to other cities. I find it funny that cold play failed to realize that their concert was one of the cause of this monstrous traffic jam. Imagine, urbanites from Manila going out in droves simultaneously. This is Russel Peter talking about traffic in India comparing it to the Philippines. Start at 3:33
25 mins in 10 kms is actually not bad when compared to Bengaluru traffic
Nope, they underestimate the time in the study. Traffic in Manila is much worst than that.
@@renderpolice why? Are you in the habit of timing traffic?
@@Techguy-zt3mzif you just drive daily, you don't need a habit to estimate how long it will take 10-km drive in Manila 🤦♂️
10km is about 1hr-1.5hrs during rush hour. Based on my daily drive in metro manila. It’s literally as fast as doing a 10km run.
@@jayson-7577 not everyone is as time conscious as you. Most of the time i try to keep my mind busy with music or read excerpts from a book. Besides, there are people who are tasked with traffic management. They have traffic cameras installed all over the city. They have real-time data on your travel speed. All we can do really is give our rough estimates.
Well the traffic is even heavier because of concerts. Imagine thousands of fans going to concert arena
Yes coldplay, trafic in manila is terrible , but we doing something to improve it, welcome to our country enjoy our world class culture 👍❤️🇵🇭
Very true, as i drive the city everyday to Manila back and fort to my hometown in Cavite about 1hour south of Manila. The President shouldn't take it as an insult to him but as a challenge instead. May the best of the country is yet to come🇵🇭✌️👊
I almost got lost there. A LOT has changed. I got confused because of that flyover. It was'nt there the last time i visited my friends in Imus 😁

In the Philippines is traffic especially what you've said. In manila if theirs no concert it would less the traffic
It's normal that the time of traffic is longer because theirs concert 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭

Add up the difference of rates/wages in manila vs provinces, that is why many people choose to work in manila
Its a good thing to highlight though for the government to expedite infras
Correction: the events i mentioned didnt happen at the same time. Last day concert for Coldplay is prep day for NCT. My bad. Still, i can see the foot traffic for both.
Pardon me for asking. What's the other event? Aside from the concert?

Philippine Arena has the disadvantage of one needing to drive to head there. Unlike Araneta Colosseum which is right in the city and is well connected by public transportation including rapid transit or metro.
The concert organizers did not even planned to provide shuttle services from certain vantage points around Metro Manila and doing so will ease the traffic issue.
The singer is very honest😂
When almost all the heavy, slow-moving traffic video clips used in the report are actually in Bangkok, Thailand (1:37, 1:44, 2:05, 2:11, 2:19, 2:25, 2:46, 3:11, 3:18, 3:55), and almost all traffic clips that are actually in the Philippines are light to moderately moving...
Not denying the fact that Manila has nightmarish traffic jams, but I hope the visuals used are really Manila traffic.

It's why our country's progress is slower than most (if not THE slowest) because we spend a lot of time in traffic that could have been spent on time being productive.
Did you even look at the GDP last year? We are the best in South East Asia and one of the fastest in the world. Basa basa din. 😂
Politicians and President Marcos should do something about the current traffic on Metro Manila.

Help is on the way though. Once the expanded MRT/LRT railway system goes online, it should decongest a lot of that traffic. hopefully it's so good that Filipinos might prefer it to private cars altogether.

That's actually the opposite. A progressive nation should have an effective and efficient public transpo. That's unfortunately the Philippines as a nation don't have.

The Philippine president knows better than to take on the traffic. He took a helicopter to go to the concert. #ourtaxesatwork
Interesting though that some of the footage you used is from Bangkok.
Wrong.... what you described is not booming.
You gotta to be a dumbass to think a heavy traffic such as what we have here in MM is a sign of booming economy...
If we have a booming economy, then we would have an efficient way of moving people.
@@PH_Resident_2021the Philippines is doing just that.
@@PH_Resident_2021 A "booming" economy means "progressing or developing". The countries you described are developed nations. We are currently building-up our infrastructure.
