One of the most underrated adaptations of a video game movies, this was really good it it deserves a sequel
Same thinking.
@M G I'll put Hitman 2007 too in that list.
With Dahaka in it, would be litty
I agree that it is a great movie but I don't think it needs a sequel. They've already combined trilogy's elements in this movie.
This supposed To have 7 movie after this one
It’s cool how Dastan is counting snakes and memorizing the directions of attack the snakes came from while rewinding just a few short seconds back. Talk about skills!
i could do that too......... in the game :)

12 years later, movie still holds up as one of the best movie adaptions of a game
Because it wasn’t trying to be the game.
It was its own thing paying homage to a beloved franchise.
@@bacohpfanwhick2572 That's usually why so many game adapted to movies tend to fail. Resident Evil, Mortal Kombat, Super Mario Bros. (1993), Street Fighter, Monster Hunter, Tomb Raider, Assassin's Creed. And yet, some manage to do great, having a great box office and/or reviews. Detective Pikachu, Rampage, Super Mario Bros. (2023) and this one.
@@SuperSylarwhat about silent hill?
@@thegoldenjubileu3016 What about it? >_>
@@trevorsreya8277 i don't know, i just thought that it was a great movie adapted from a game.
Loved that little interaction between Dastan and Tamina like a little inside joke this movie was great.
They are a pretty adorable couple!
Who is still watching Prince of Persia in 2020? I like this movie. I think it deserves a sequel.
Holy crud!! How did I get this much likes than the others!?
They should’ve made this movie resemble the game more closely
@@JmgStrength Yeah they should.
Yes
If they made the movie just like the game, boi that would have me some nostalgia
Watched it yesterday. It's pretty cheesy and flat at times but overall it has a TON of merit. The action sequences are also super well choreographed and filmed
Jake Gyllenhaal has got the perfect face for the Prince of Persia
@Curtis Steele He is American and has Swedish ancestry
@@ayanbanerjee1365 He's half-Swedish. His other half is Jewish (which is a Levantine ethnicity).
well said bro everyone would agree to that
Not
I mean he s just perfect. No matter the character
Jake Gylenhaal could have been a good action star.
Dun think anyone else would be able to play Dastan other than Jake coz he nailed the part. Really hoping for a sequel where we could actually see the darker version of him.
Quarantine lifestyle

Still love watching this part
Definitely watch it again
Proof that movie critics are bad at doing their job. This movie was quite decent especially for a video game adaptation.
I loved it so much and people who played the games are saying this film is nothing like the game and it didn't have to be like the games because why would want to see what you have already seen in the game when you can see a completely different version of the story.
Criminally under rated movie. This and John Carter
Did I ever tell you about M’baka ?
Please make it part 2
❤️❤️❤️
My lifetime favorit movie
Please upload in hindi or urdu..I love the movie
I don't agree with the "whitewashing" claims. Jake Gyllenhaal is half-Swedish, but he looks almost exactly like the Prince from the games. Also, he's half-ethnically Jewish, so he is at least of Middle Eastern descent (even if it's not Persian). And it's not like there aren't tons of Persians who are.... you know, white.
They should of still casted an Iranian or Persian actor.
@@persianguy1524 I agree, but "whitewashing" isn't the proper term for an ethnically Middle Eastern guy playing a Middle Eastern character.
@@RawPower867 hes half and pretty European looking
@@persianguy1524 He is somewhat European looking, but he also has some obvious Middle Eastern traits (imo). At least in the movie, he looked very similar to the Prince in the games.
@@RawPower867 looks similar but not really the same. I agree though, some of his features are pretty middle eastern, even Persian.

The Prince of Persia series should be revived and brought back.
Yes
Actually Ubisoft is doing it now..
@PoopieMan exactly I'm super hyped for prince of persia the sands of time Remake
@@starwarsfan2851 when does it come out and is it a move?
No please, they would make the prince homosexual and Persian princess a Chinese
This was some pretty good special effects for a 2010 movie
there was good effects in movies even prior in 2000's
im a Persian I like this movie very much. This movie showed Iranian culture very well, not like the distorted movie 300
As a defence to the movie it wasnt supposed to show the true nature of the battle. The whole story is told by the oneeyed spartan. So the whole story is a propaganda to inspire spartans to fight. Demonizing the enemy is a good way to boost the morale of your men.
Thats why persians appear like dark magicians and demos from hell
''iranian culture''😂😂 and that is time rewinding daggers? LOL. 300 is a masterpiece btw. spartans indeed kicked your asses.
@@nikosanagnostou3364 Also, the movie was based on a comic written by Frank Miller, so…yeah😅
Yeah the lore was bs in 300 😅 giants and mutants lol
say anything about this film. But the action scenes are incredible!!!
Especially when they use the dagger of time
Absolutely loved this movie, really underrated unfortunately. But man, the cast and the heroes are whitewashed af.
What do you mean by weight washed?
Yeah, the movie was so good.
@@VinayKumarT1302 He means Whitewashed - Aka primary actors are Hollywood A or B listers instead of finding actors of the ethnicity that the area is made in. I disagree that the film was whitewashed. Look at pretty much the rest of the supporting cast- Dastan's Father, his younger brother, and his uncle are all appropriately cast. Yes, the two "main" actors, Dastan and the Princess are whitewashed a little, but Jake Gyllenhall does a suprisingly good job of not making it terribly bad. The Princess - her accent is far too british and does detract from the regional story. The problem is MARKETING movies like these (especially ones based on video games) with non Hollywood types. People keep saying that Alladin remake was good because it wasn't whitewashed. (And I agree it was good). But Will Smith carried that movie hard. He's a main hollywood actor. The rest were ethnically accurate but were, for all practical purposes "nobody actors". You'll likely never see them again or never remember their faces again.
This movie was good, criminally underrated, and sidelined by the fact that people were so focused on the "white-washing" at the time that their blinders didn't let them see the movie for what it was. A fun action movie based on a game that was cinematic-ally well done. I mean it's a Jerry Bruckheimer film. It's damn good as are most of his movies.
@@Sykomyke thanks, man 🙌👍
Totally understood now.
Vinay Kumar thanks for the explanation and sharing your view on this!!
It's an adaptation of a high-fantasy videogame series that is many decades old. Being authentic to the games is more important than being ethnically authentic. And I watched the dev diaries and they did initially look at Iranian, Arabic and Lebanese actors for both Dastan and Tamina.
Not the best we expect but I like this movie. Still better then other adaptation.
It's not enough to go back in time, you must have a good memory
Especially if your life depends on it
I wish they made second movie 🎦
Need a sequel for this movie underrated movie of the century
If that were me, I wouldn’t have gotten it right until the 50th try lol
so much rewinding to avoid a single snake. I thought he'll rewind up to the time where the rest are still sleeping and warn them before the snakes could attack.
@@0614ReiThe dagger of this version is not that powerful. It only has enough sand to rewind time for a few seconds, while the dagger of the games could do so much more: not only did it reversed time, but also freeze it and manipulate it so that the wielder could move faster. It could even give the user visions of its own future and protect him from the Sands of Time.
Also there is the detail that the sand of this version can only be obtained in Alamut, while the game’s dagger could refill its sand container with the sand of the other monsters.
As a Persian, I approve of Jake Gyllenhaal and Gemma Arterton
thats how I beat the level after 10 revives...............
a clever way the show the game mechanism
Best movie of those times❤️
probably the best scene in the movie
no no, the ngbaka vs hashashin is the best !!!
