Hello, I wanted to put some information out here about the CAT program. I got into it but didn't make it, I'm home now and enrolled in a CDL school. It's a good program but it's accelerated, fast paced. The instructors will work with you as long as you're working hard to get it. My instructor gave me extra time driving but I still didn't pass my road tests. They suggested that I go back home and go to school then come back. I'm doing just that but give the program a try, no harm in trying.

If someone was to get there cdl through Schneider is anything taken out of your paycheck to pay for it and once finished are you allowed to jump on a dedicated route?

I love to drive, but I don't want to do OTR, I would like to find a dedicated account, so I can go home every night. After I complete CDL school, do I have to sign up for OTR in order to gain that experience, or can I get a dedicated account right out of CDL school with no experience? I just don't want to do something I have no interest in, if that makes sense? Thank you for your time. - Mike

I have my Class A permit. I've been trying to get in a school. I just applied to Schneider. I hope I'm accected
I'm taking night classes after work, Its an 8 week course. That way I can still earn a living while getting my CDL.

Your local dmv gives you your permit.
