Michael, did you ever find out how to deal with this? I installed a Braun-ability lift in my garage but cant get it to work outside of the van it was in. Thx!
Thanks for the video. A board member on SCI Care Cure forums had a setup similar to this in his workshop. This was extremely well detailed. Thanks again.
Thanks for your comment. The lift does the job perfectly and my wife can get to the truck safely. It was a big bonus that we also use the lift for easy transporting yard work equipment up and down. I love it because I load all the groceries on it and quickly bring them down to our door.
@@mikeinbmore I would be glad to look at and maybe give you some suggestions on this project. But I would need to see some pictures to see what we are up against. You can email me whyterj47@gmail.com
Hi Zander. Did you figure out the wiring for yours? I just took one out of a bus and it was working in the bus. I hooked it up to a 12v battery in the garage and it is not working now.
@@randyurso4799 Sorry to say not yet. I got very busy then winter hit. I do have a farm who is very knowledgeable on DC power lifts. Said he would help me figure out the wiring. I will try to video the process.
@@zanderman2539 hi Zander. I was actually able to figure it out, it ended up being pretty easy. Let me know if you need any help. I’d be happy to answer questions if our lifts are similar
@@franciscogutierrez5113 what kind of lift is it and what is the application? Are you using it out of the vehicle and attaching it to a new 12v battery?
Hello. We are using our Braun Century Lift in a similar fashion, however, when we hooked it up to the battery it didn't work. I see where some others had the same issue and was wondering how you resolved it. Thanks
How are you going to protect the electronics box from water cascading down over the rocks? Was this designed for outdoors - where it will be subject to being covered with water. As opposed to just humid air..........
@@raywhyte7916 I'm getting my office AND house built in a few months. I would install a canopy to protect the unit from the weather. Maybe even a soler cell hooked up to a charger or run conduit to the battery to always keep it charged. Also wire in a controll station on top and at the bottom and tie the handheld station to the unit so the wife can operate it independentely no matter what position it is in. Just wire the extra buttions in parrell to the controller on the lift.
A canopy has been installed for the winter, and I just have to get the video done. I like your suggestion of wiring in a second control. I will look into that in the spring. Stay tuned for the canopy video it turned out great.
Job well done I thought I look pretty damn good this idea it's not really new yes something similar that we did Upstate New York and Lake George up over the boat house where there is a disabled apartment of course I like you I did not install it but I have to say congratulations and you gave me a lot to think about if I ever needed to do anything like that the next time thank you

How to add or put battery in on porch what connectors did you use? I have the same lift and want to do the same thing put it on my porch but running into problems how to either convert it to AC or simply use a battery help.
Hi Ray. How did you wire the unit? I just took one out of a bus and know it was working in the bus. I hooked it up to a 12 v battery in the garage and it’s not working now.
The wiring is quite simple and you can not get a shock. The lifts operate using a 12 volt battery. I use a 12 volt deep cycle battery, try and get the highest amp hours you can afford. There are 2 wires coming from the lift, 1 red (+) 1 black (-) and they attach to the corresponding terminals on the battery. If the lift is not in a vehicle that charges the battery every time you drive, then you will need a battery charger to recharge the battery. If you have more questions, do not hesitate to post again.

Excellent workmanship. Clever navigation of Site Logistics. A labor of love. Great attention to Engineering Detail. Cheers from Michael. Australia.
Awesome video... glad to see someone putting these lifts to good use instead of something silly. Or just taking them apart and selling the parts etc.
Lot of work, labor of love.
A great job and excellent tips
THANK-YOU!

What a great project and outcome! Thanks for the video :)
