Of course the moment after I posted this live I had a tough moment with the kids and wasn't my best self again :( I got into that headspace where I just felt like "today's just going to be a bad day and thats that." But then, I started to think about how my reactions have impacted the kids behavior and in a sense they were just mimicking what I was putting out. I was able to approach my son, apologize for my actions, and ask him to start over the day with me. Grace shown through my son when I didn't deserve it. Just want to remind you thats it's never too early to turn your day around with your kids. God's grace is always available and you can hit that reset button and try AGAIN. Grace upon grace

This is incredibly helpful for understanding Why we may feel certain ways in our body or emotions, but we still have to choose to overcome and not live slave to our emotions. If we feel bad we can’t just say “oh it’s that time of the month, sorry family no fun today because I feel low energy.” That’s not empowering to us or our family. This season with two small kids has been so hard and I’ve had to learn how to wake up each day and decide TODAY WILL BE A GREAT DAY even though I often feel exhausted and a bit overwhelmed. Deciding not to go places or do certain things just because I didn’t feel up to the task was so limiting and made me feel worse. And I’ve seen how setting myself up to expect to feel a certain way usually results in me feeling that way, just because I expected it. Some days I need to check to see how much sleep I got to determine if I get up early or sleep in a bit more, but some days if I don’t have the option of when to get up I don’t look at my sleep feedback from my watch because I know it will setup my mind to believe “I didn’t get enough sleep to do this or that.” When I hear the word Grace I always translate that to “God’s empowering presence.” He gives us grace, He empowers us to rise above our emotions and circumstances. That doesn’t mean I can’t take a slow day or grab takeout because I’m so wiped I have no oomph in me to cook, but some days I actually have to choose the harder route to overcome because I just cannot let another rough sleeping night with the baby determine how my day goes. Same for my cycle when it returns. I’m enjoying learning about how these phases can affect our bodies, our hormones, they are powerful. But I’m also not going to plan my life around them. Thanks for the info!

Hey girly, thanks for sharing your thoughts! You touched on a lot of things I've been thinking about even as I was editing my video. I certainly agree we need to rise above our emotions and shared that in my video. I also see a lot of value in understanding what's happening with our bodies and making small decisions that can help us as we navigate each cycle. I don't think it's possible to align EVERY SINGLE EVENT with our cycle, sometimes things are out of our control, or we need to rise above our feelings that day and get things done. Overall, learning this is just going to help me be more aware and potentially make some changes here and there. I believe in a healthy balance for sure!

Nicole, your content is a blessing! Thank you for the helpful content you put out.
I needed help with potty training my son and your video and book recommendation was helpful. It took me a while to get started but when I finally did, during the hard days, revisiting that video helped me get through and I’ve successfully potty trained my son.
I struggle a lot with my mood and I recently figured out that it correlates with my cycle, just last week I prayed to God to help me, and well , you know what this video means to me. I will be trying out the calendar and the eating guide.
    Thank you again

I love the idea of planning your calendar around your cycle but my struggle is SO many things out of my control like birthdays, holidays and friend get togethers that are planned 3 months in advance bc of schedules in this season of life. I wish I felt like my best self going into any of these events rather than on the struggle bus! Thanks for this video, Nicole!

I totally get it I was thinking that as well while editing this, we can only control certain things and I think just keeping those few things in mind we DO have control over can make a small difference! And in the end when we fail, theres always grace

Oh my gosh, my only to-do lists involve appointments or sports events for my kids. As for activities, I always went with the flow. Prayer is constant to survive and scripture daily whether a verse or a chapter or many chapters is vital as well. Jesus first in everything. But I was never good with planned activities. The thought almost stresses me out because what if I’m feeling different that day or the Lord has me do something else(?)

i have never allowed my children into the toilet with me. they are under 5 years old and have umderstood that they can wait outside the door.
for me, this is something i find strange because its not part of my culture. my parents never allowed it and we understood it was private as we grew up.
