Today I just bought a 2023 Suzuki Bergman. Haven’t ridden a motorcycle in. Over 20 years. Nervous getting back to it driving around the dealership parking lot. Going to have to start slow in the neighborhood. Won’t attempt the highway for a while. But happy with my purchase now that the weather is getting warmer.
@@jasontomica8938 I too own a 2023 Burgman 400 and 82 is my top speed but not sustainable. Encountering an incline will impact speeds over 75 mph. Between 70 and 75 is a comfortable range for highway speeds.
@jamesknight3992 But to be honest with you, the top speed doesn't really matter. Once you go over 75 Miles an hour, the gas range just starts to go down pretty crazy, especially when you get near 80 Miles an hour. I feel like 65 to 70 is the perfect sweet spot.
And also the wind going much faster? The wind just becomes much more unbearable. I'm used to a car so totally 2 different vehicles. They both get you there, but a car. Obviously is luxury compared to a motorcycle? No wind issues, no weather issues. No nothing and u don't have to wear a helmet all day
I own a Suzuki Berkman AN 400 2008 model; And I had it up to 90 miles an Route 23 in greenup Kentucky. And I am from Southern California Born and raised. I am glad I ran across this video when I did. Now I know I can ride the freeways in Southern California once I touch down❤🔥🔥🔥🔥👊🏿💯
Burgman 650 is the smoothest engine I ever felt from Goldwings 1100,1200,1800 and BMWs 650, 1150, 1200. I wished they made a motorcycles based on the B650 engine.
I wonder if the 50 cc of the 700 burgy will make it any difference in performance maybe the should have done what honda and Yamaha did go to 750.anyway a zontes 701vs the 700 burgy would be interesting also.
Im owner of a 2016 Burgman 400 Executive. Tops out at 100mph on the motorway according to the speedo. Cargo space is unchallenged even by the newest scooters. Dead reliable. Got grip heaters as standard. Couldnt be more happy
Where you have any DOT reflectors, if you buy small pod lights for motorcycle they can screw right into them. Or if you have any factory mounted hardware on both sides. That's what I did. I like how they turn at slow speeds unlike the headlights. The potholes are crazy around where I live. And I have to ride home at night.
Thank you for this Video. I've been thinking about Kymco X-Roads 300i but the videos say it struggles at 60 mph and over. SO now I'm looking at the Burgman 400. I have a freind that has one far sale. Maybe I can get a good deal.
To my understanding ther was a regular Bergman 650 that's no longer made,, the'executve Bergman 650 is the new vershun an still bein made,, I'm hopen to sumday this yr or nxt yr get executive 650 that has sum yrz on it sell amount is lower speshally payun cash
I have new superbike collection both euro and japanese models(euro bikes better than japanese in every aspect now thats why they have won every comparison for the last 15 years strait ) . But for touring have owned burgman 400/650 . Then bought The Piaggio bv400 BEST touring scooter. Smooth as silk could ride over a body and hardly feel it . I tried the yamaha and honda models that use a traditional motorcycle chassis instead of scooter chassis = Neither fish nor foul .Burgman/piaggio traditional Scooter chassis much more plush
My Yamaha Smax 155cc will run circles around the Xt250 i used to ride.I got rid of the Xt250 because it couldn't maintain 55mph even on a slight grade and all the cars behind me would try and run me over. Even the smaller scooters seem to way outperform the same-size motorcycle
Thanks I`~ wish They Made@440-cc. Twin Running@ 4400rpm@ 80mph. & 40,000 Valve Adjust. Then I buy 1. &+ ➕VERY GLAD To See You✔️ Again, Thought U` Quit Making Videos.
Everyone thinks the storage is for touring. I think it is critical for commuting. first, need to lock up my helmet, gloves, and other riding gear. second, shopping. You can hit 2-3 stores and be able to store/lock your purchases- while you go into another store. Most Americans reject motos because they think, "where will I put my stuff?" (George Carlin)

I live in New York city (Brooklyn) and it's very hard to find the 2024 400 model,to my knowledge and understanding that it illegal to have those particular scooters in NYC and I'm not sure how true that may be.......I'm curious to know.
I ride with my wife. I weight 190 and she 140. I put it at 65 mph but no higher cause of speed limits. No problem reaching the speed as if I was riding alone. Mine is a 2013
Greetings here in Flagstaff Arizona!! Ought to take your girlfriend on a road trip from your house up to Vegas. I'm curious on road conditions and gas mileage. Hopes the wind is backing you up!!
@@hannadeshler1426 I managed to pick up a set of the wind guards. I'm not super impressed by the mounting hardware but the guards really cut down on the wind on your legs.
What year is yours. I got a 2022 silver burgman . I worry about sun glare I ride near Tucson AZ . Is got plenty of power 1 Rider with Day trip load . I go on interstate . I just put my 1st 600 mls in 50 days. Did the 1st serv with full synthetic oil . They just pass the Lane split in town 45 mls or less at stop lite multiple same Way traffic here in AZ but there's lots of cave man idiots drivers here . I wish they do it like CA in All of USA it makes sense . I use to live in NYC and in traffic jams witch are as bad as L.A . CA . Even in front cops sometimes very carefully and no one gave me problems . But is illegal in NY . I am planning a ride from Malibu CA to San Francisco CA . But I'll trailer from AZ .
I took my dads 400 on the high way, I hit a pot hole and the little tire almost fell off and then death wobbled .. never rode that pos again . Buy a real motorcycle if you want normal size tires

hey! any updates?
Take a MSF beginners riding course, don’t rely on what you knew 20 years ago.
They still make the 400, it is the 650 that they stopped making/importing. I love my 400, ride it almost daily.
I have a 2023 400 and I can't get above 82 mph with my tall windshield?,

@@jasontomica8938 You have to remap the ECU, then it will go faster. Actually the biggest benefit is the increase in torque.
Got my xt250 based on alot of your older videos..love that bike..Love to ride 2wheels no matter what it is

I want to see the 650 vs the 2025 burgy 700.this would be a good match up with only 50cc between them
They do make a dr 650 suzuki an old classic modernized

I have a 2022 Burgman 400. I usually have a GPS unit with me when I ride. I find that my speedometer is about 5 mph optimistic.
Seems most manufacturers have their speedos showing 5mph faster then what your actually doing.VERY Annoing

Thanks for the video! And 37 miles is no commute my man, by European standards that's a freaking journey hahah
Hahhahahaha, I guess you’re right! I could be almost half across some European countries.
Not in Ireland , my commute and many others is 80-100 miles a day depending on the site I have to visit, this includes return trip.
U said u were almost going 90mph, I can't not get above 82mph with my tall windshield on my 2023 400 burgman
And my gas mpg is only 52 in traffic and stop and go and 60 on hwy
I used to live in Riverside and Moreno Valley. I had never seen the 91 that empty. Dang

Why can't Americans just keep to the right unless passing on the highway
Great scooter, but I hate that windshield.
My wife has the Honda forza 300 handles passengers no problem!

Maybe i missed it, but is this stock exhaust? In that case it is a "no go" for me. Too intrusive. And how tall are you?
Yeah its the stock exhaust. Its alot quieter in person. Im 5'4" on a tall day.
Do you need an M license for a 400cc scooter?

Switch to radial tires and it will quit following little ruts in the road guaranteed!
Had 250ccm ,
did 140km/h long tunes on highway with no problem
Do you have a link where I can buy those hand guards?

If you get the Givi windscreen there’s no need for hand guards lol
Have you tried the side wind guards at the angle change of footboards?
They are not just for the wind, they also protect the hands from random flying objects.
