Super Capacitor 2.7v 3000F - Do NOT make Short Circuit!

  • I am using 2 super capacitors connected in series,each capacitor is 2.7v 3000F but when they are connected in series I get 5.4v and 1500F capacity.

    Can you make a project with the supercapacitors, using them to build a larger bank that can serve and even replace a car's battery for engine startup?

      I'm pretty sure you would need a trunk sized super capacitor bank just to have a chance to start a 12V vehicle, they need a few hundred amps for around 2-5 sec.

      @@thatbillguy5211 no you won't. A car, even a large car draws no more than about 300A for 1-2seconds. To power the car's starter for 2seconds, we need:
      IV(t) = 300A × 12V × 2sec = 7200 -10,000joules
      A bank of 5-6 of these supercapacitors would give 13.5v - 16.2v, more than the needed 12v to start the car.
      6x 3000F supercapacitors in series would give 16.2v 3000F. The energy it stores is:
      ½CV² = 0.5 × 3000 × 16.2² = 393,660 joules
      So unless my math is wrong - correct me,
      Else this should work theoretically and practically.

    Dear sir,
    Good day
    This is preethesh kumar from India I have already purchased 3000F, 2.7V x 18 pcs I connected it series I have technical query regarding some conditions while charging and discharging.
    Question 1
    1) sir, what is the max charging current of this module. 165F ,48V.i have 50 ampere 48volt dc power supply source if I charge it directly will it damage the supercapacitor. If not possible to charge directly with 50 ampere can I use high wattage resister in series. For 165F, 48V supercapacitor module can you suggest the resistance value and it's wattage for charging my concern I need fast charging.
    Question 2
    2) sir, once 165F, 48Volt supercapacitor got charged fully with 48V, 50 ampere power supply source if capacitor got charged fully if I keep continue power supply on to the terminals of the capacitor after fully charging will it consume current after fully charging and or will it damage any heating life decreasing plz check and inform me.
    Question 3
    3) what is the full output current of fully charged 165F,48V ultra capacitors.
