I first got these in my 30's. I went to Dr who shrugged and said its nothing. Showed them to a couple more Dr's over the years nothing.... Had some bloodwork done about 6 years ago and was told i was pre diabetic. I did get referred to the clinic but it was a joke. Got weighed and never heard from them again. I got my own blood sugar monitor a blood pressure monitor a step tracker and went keto. All the tags have shrunk or fallen off. GP/Primary care is such a dumpster fire in the UK.

and it's not going to get better with all the nigerians that the NHS shuved into the system as a way of "boosting numbers" and making it feel like "you are seeing doctor" while in fact the "doctor" bought his diploma for $500 and barely speaks English (in which case one has to wonder how he passed any exam to validate his license in the UK)...

I had some bowel polyps removed a few years back. Thankfully all were tested and found to be benign. The specialist told me they are related to skin tags, and those with skin tags were more likely to suffer from bowel polyps. The good news is that not every bowel polyp will turn into bowel cancer, but he said that every case of bowel cancer starts from a polyp, so if you have skin tags, and also get systems such as frequent stomach aches or discomfort, and small amounts of blood on your stool (I had both) go see you Doctor asap.

I have PCOS so am susceptible to Type 2 Diabetes. I had one skin tag under my arm all my life. Then over the span of a few weeks I suddenly had over 20 appear under both arms. I insisted there was something wrong but the Dr said, “if you do you’re research you’ll see its nothing”. I did my research. Called the Dr back and I have never been spoken to so rudely and patronized by a Dr like that one had. I was told “you’re over-reacting and need to just calm down, I’m the medical practitioner and there’s nothing to worry about”. So I guess there’s nothing to worry about and I should just trust the NHS that I’m forced to pay for to put my health first lol

They don’t believe you, especially when you are a woman. It’s insane what’s going on, I was only 34 when I had to somehow convince the GP that something weird was happening to me that made me projectile vomit then moved my body that I could not control and made me pass out eventually (I was having seizures, but I lived alone and had no idea what was happening, I could just describe it to them), and they made me go back three times and did not believe me. I thought I was going insane, I was young and would never go to the doctor unless something very bizarre was happening to me. Eventually after he tried to scare me with banging his hand onto the table so I would stop crying, he asked if I had headaches, which I always forgot to mention that I did. So I had to wait one more month for an MRI to finally get my brain cancer diagnosis. Unbelievable.

I would add prediabetes to the list of causes. Insulin promotes growth. High insulin = higher growth. My Mom had skin tags for years 20 before being diagnosed with T2 diabetes. She had at least 15 skin tags. Everywhere you mentioned. Even her eyelids! It grew so much, her vision was obstructed. Doctor removed that one. She had them all over her neck, armpits etc. very obese and insulin resistant likely. I had 2 small ones under my arm. Gone after keto/carnivore way of eating. Took over a year for them to disappear. Never going back! Thanks Dr. Dan 🎉

Isnt overweight a symptom rather than a cause? I think people who eat a lot of sugar has a lot of inflammation (which not really cause obesity) and are more susseptible (spelling?, sorry im swedish) to more insulin and also more IGF1, also causing growth in all tissues. I forgot my point sorry but i think overweight is more of a symptom of too much sugar and an insulin resistance on the rise? I just speculate :)

Yep Armpits, groin, neck but the annoying one is the eyelid. Was thinking of someday going to the GP to get them cut/frozen off but from your video, sounds like they would only come back.
Reading the comments below, they might go away on their own with a lifestyle change... Now there's a challenge! Thanks for the video Dan.

I have quite a few small ones, had them years, and i had one pop up on my eyelid, and side of nose, which started to bother me!
Just get some really fine cotton, or something similar, and tie it tightly around the tag, it will go black and eventually fall off, all took between 7-10 days!
This is guaranteed to work every time, just cuts the blood supply off completely and when it can no longer grow it just drops off!
Works way better than any fancy crap you can buy online!

it makes sense, I have a lot of skin tags and have a certain insulin resistance even though I'm not fat, old and pregnant, I do sports and I'm in good shape, I managed to reduce insulin resistance by cleaning the liver and gall bladder using the hulda clark method, a bunch of semi-solid accumulations/stones came out, I repeated this several times and the amount progressively decreased, now I should repeat it again because it has been 5 years and I feel that the resistance has increased

I have very tiny skin tags which I remove myself occasionally and then sterilise. I have had a blood test and I am not pre diabetic according to my doctor. Had a few since I was in my early 30s now I am 58.
But even if they are not a symptom of pre diabetes I need to loose weight . I wonder if hormones a factor. As womens hormones go up and down and that must affect our skin etc.
Anyway I am not simply going to reduce food consumption ie calories overall but increase fresh foods and avoid hyper processed foods and avoid added sugar and crisps etc. snacks such as a few nuts and a piece of fruit ok but only if I count calories and importantly keep my steps up each day.
I will get another blood check soon and keep a window of eating to around 9 hours and make certain I dont eat 3 hours before bedtime.😊
There is a definite link as far as I am concerned with my overeating and excess weight and skin tags. So whether skin tags relevant to insulin levels or not in my case I know my overall health requires a permanent drop in weight of around 2 to 3 stone in a next year and a permanent healthy fresh food diet avoiding foods that give me sugar spikes etc such as cakes or fruit juices or excess carbs such as large quantities of pasta and rice. Moderation and balance and sleep. The power of a good nights sleep important to help reduce cravings and preparing for work by having a healthy enjoyable packed lunch helps 😊

I do wrong because when i came from second shift (usually around 9:10 PM, i do eat and then lay down and watch tv, of course, eating and going to bed, where will that energy go? nowhere. I am aware of that, currently i do plan on simple diet, no eating after getting home from work (2th shift), maybe a cracker just to confuse my stomack, but nothing else. i got one in my tummy and i thought it was a scab so tried really hard to pull it out and blood came gushing out. so am leaving it alone sometimes plaster to remind myself not to scratch. only one, i can't even tell anymore if it's a mole or a skin tag as it's been red since i nearly destroyed it. Having blood test soon, in a few weeks, so if anything serious which I doubt it but who knows, it should pop up
but here is an interesting anecdote. saw this very suspicious mole on the left side of my foot. like most males was v embarrassed to go to the doctor. it kinda ticked most boxes (or just about) about the warning signs of a sus mole. so made a deal with myself, fine, go see a doctor, but let it rest for a month. even took a photo. then completely forgot about it. a little over a month has passed, and i couldn't find the "mole" anymore, gone, vanished. Turned out must have been a scab then (most likely) which looked like a suspicious mole (irregular, brown but a little red, etc) ... the skin healed, absorbed it.

I’ve had three or four skin tags over the course of my life, but I’ve not had one in at least five years. I’ve always removed them myself with a length of thread…tying the thread around the base of the tag, leaving it like that for a few days, and, deprived of blood, it falls off on its own.
It occurs to me that most of the locations tags appear also correspond to areas with many lymph nodes…I’m sure it’s a mere coincidence.

BULLSHT…. I’ve had skin tags since I was a teenager, with a family history of diabetes. I’m now 60 and tested every year. I’m not even pre-diabetic. I would really appreciate it if this Dr gave his governing institution information so I can lodge a complaint about misleading the public and causing anxiety to the ignorant who will run to their Dr/emergency room unnecessarily. Edit: I found the link and have penned a note of concern about this content.

Please don't use words like malignant or benign, unless you are describing a tumour. A tumour is an abnormal growth of cells and all tumours are cancers, but not all cancers are life-threatening. That's why we use words like malignant or benign to describe tumours.
Not all lumps and bumps are tumours, therefore they aren't all cancerous, so don't use words like malignant or benign.
If it's not life-threatening or if it's nothing to worry about, just say so.

Don't cut out carbs from your diet, they are essential for staying healthy. We need carbs ( which are transformed into glucose aka sugar in our blood ) for energy. Without energy your body is running like a car on empty....
Eating less carbs and better sources of carbs like oats and wholegrains is a better option than cutting out carbs completely from your died.
Carbohydrates are the main source of energy for our bodies, providing the fuel we need for our nervous system, organs and muscles to work. Without energy from carbs, our body will start burning protein and fat, however that is not recommended in the long term and could lead to serious and unpredictable health consequences.
