@@vistinaeo758 you gotta make sure that the "width (in pixels) X height (in pixels)" of your artwork equals 4,000,000 pixels. A simple way to do it (I do this myself) is to select all the elements of your artwork and look for its dimensions on the right upper corner of the screen, then you do "height X width" with a calculator and see if the result is at least 4,000,000 pixels (4 MP). Maybe there is a faster way to do it, idk. If you're using CorelDRAW, this may not work. I don't know why, but CorelDRAW has some issues with this when it comes to EPS files, that's one of the reasons why I rather use Illustrator. Anyway, I hope this was helpful!
You said you've been working in Ai for 3 months. I've been working in Illustrator for like 3 years now, and you are still a better designer than me! I have a lot to learn from you :)
ist OK if i do a photo in other apps NOT adobe illustrator or photoshop instead i can use gimp and if i use gimp for example can i also uploaded to shutterstock ?
hi, great video...just one question for you.... the tablet on the left (the file you uploaded to shutterstock) has layers above screen is that opacity or what ?
I created iphone like mobile phone and uploaded to shutterstock but they didn't accept it because of Intellectual Property issues. How do you achive this, submit as an editorial use only?
Hi Olly, Nice tutorial I loved it, I was wondering how people make such graphics which gives us a 3D look or perspective angle. Few tricks I would like to share with you: 1 For zooming in and out you can use this method, press alt and scroll mouse forward and backward. 2 For viewing the entire artboard press ctrl+alt+0 3 If you want to toggle between fill and stroke color you can press X on keyboard. I guess it's been one year you have uploaded this video so you might have already be aware of this. It will help you to save some time. Keep up the good work. Also wanted to ask you, does shutter stocks pays us back each time someone purchases our artwork or is it a one time pay?
'Your file was saved in either “pixel preview” or “outline preview” mode. Resave your file in standard preview mode and upload it again.' how can I solve it?
i hv few images portfolio. Now i am trying to submit vector. First when i tried uploading it said min 4 megapixel . Then again i created new and uploading. its take me to "next" button. which i clicked. But i cant find it on "to submit" or "pending" . where has it disappeared? i have not even written title n keywords n all
Hey Olly. Thank you for sharing this video. It helped me a lot but I still have a question. If I want to upload my own painted vector illustrations, they tell me that i need a property release, or reference image. I uploaded also with them but it still doesn't work. Any advice for this? Thank you very much! :)
In your video there are transparent layers of screen over iphone. How did that got accepted? Since you said if we use transparency it might get rejected. Also did you attach any reference images for any of your icons/vectors?
I sometimes get accepted with transparent object too, but sometimes it renders into bitmap (you can see in the link panel). In regard to reference, I don't think you need it unless you trace the object from a photo/image. I have had a few things and I didn't include reference. They all go accepted.
Since I'm just starting, I miight use a pirated version of adobe illustrator. Should I submit my work to Shutterstock, adobe stock or is it possible to upload it elsewhere though I used a pirated software or use a open source software instead? Will there be conflict if I used a pirated software?
I could only guess, but I think as long as you save it as an EPS file then it should be fine. You might have to try and see if it works. Illustrator offers a one month free trial as well, so that is also an option for you.
Heey I tried uploading preview for vector and every single time it is uploading seperately. I believe I have read and watched everything and it just see jpg and eps as two different files. I know we don't have to do it anymore but can we? I think with preview jpg colors are way better so I wanted to do it but now after so many tries I cannot find what I am doing wrong. They are always same name, in the same folder and I tried different settings and none of them seems to work. Is shutterstock no longer accepting previews and I missed something?
I think they are now just taking the previews directly from the EPS file without a JPEG. For me it is just one file. I know it doesn’t look as good, but if you just upload the EPS it should work.
Since you have almost 500 Images on those sites, Do you think it's still worth the time and effort to make and sell images and Illustraton on Shutterstock?
It’a because I’m new to Shutterstock - I will have to update this video soon because I’ve learned how gradients work a little better and they can definitely be included in shutterstock pieces
What if I make icons illustrations or vector illustrations packs? Do I have to upload one icon by one icon or I can put them all on one layer? Is it the Same with illustrations?
I couldn't understand one thing I uploaded my vector illustration and it's declined because of this "Non-Licensable Content: We cannot accept this image into our commercial or editorial collection, or we are no longer accepting this type of content."
Turuncuww does your image have a logo design or something that is not original in it? I had a designed that looked like an iPhone and it was rejected (even though it wasn’t an iPhone)
Turuncuww if you traced a vehicle then it might be the case that it is under copyright, otherwise they might already have too many of that type of image.
LIVE for now it is sometime more than that, up to 10$ I think, and in my experience my vectors sell more often. Try adobe stock as well, they pay more for vectors than Shutterstock.
Sorry, but this is naively optimistic -almost to the point that I wonder if this person is simply a shill for Adobe. The idea that someone today is going to make thousands per year from stock sales, without having at least thousands of images up, is sadly false. Most images are now sold by "subscription" (as a previous comment points out) not individually, which means the artist earns only a few cents per image. And the more stock images that are put up, the less likely any potential client is to commission new work, so photographers and illustrators who put up stockwork are only enriching companies like Adobe while defeating themselves. That wasn't the case maybe ten years ago before the 'subscription' model took over, but it is now.

It is actually multiple rectangles laid together in a grid-like arrangement - shutterstock won't accept things with opacity that is changed.

Thank you for sharing. How to create the vector larger than 4MP? Is it depend on the document setup or the complexity of the vector?
It depends on the document setup, in the beginning you can create dimensions, so I usually make ones that are 6000 width and 4000 height
Thanks a lot. It was really helpful for me.

Is shutterstock rejected transparency any object?
Yeah, unfortunately you can't using opacity changes for vectors. You can for illustrations, but not vectors as far as I know.

There might be a way in which that is true, but every time I upload it asks for the JPG, so I include it just in case.

For me personally, yes I will continue to do this for many years to come! The hardest part is getting started, but now sales are coming more easily.
