Something that probably went UNnoticed by many.... I am aware that it takes several days to shoot scenes like these BUT this one had several glaring mistakes. There was clear sun in a shot, followed by heavy overcast in another. Clear sky, then clouds, then afternoon sun followed by noon sun. Watch it again, you will see. Watch for this in other movies and you'll start to notice. I have seen movies where a car is parked along a roadside in one shot, then moments later, the shadows show that it is either far later or earlier in the day or the car is on the other side of the road.
haha, a ford mustang is reasonably fast...in a straight line, but racing against a Ferrari 308? the mustang would not stand a chance, it would have to go so slow around the corners in order to stay on the road, the Ferrari would not have to slow down on a corner at all and that's why it would leave the Mustang for dust, the Mustang would just not be able to keep up on a road with bends.
There are lots of ways to look at this. I say both cars have their strong and weak points. The Mustang has more torque which means more grunt on the straight aways meaning it can catch the ferrari on the straight aways. The Ferrari has a better suspension set up and weight distribution. It also has four wheel disc brakes which I'm almost positive the mustang doesn't. Not to say that the Ferrari is perfect because it isn't. Mid engine machines can go wrong easily in bends. I know I have a mr2 and not that I've tried but I've come close to pushing it past its limits. The Mustang if set up right and with a skilled driver behind the wheel could keep up with the 308. Truth is that overall the Mustang is a simplier affair all together. The brakes are either all drums or a mix of front disc rear drum. The suspension is not as happy with quick bends as the 308. Also the weight distribution is front bias. The heavy cast iron is in the front with nothing in the rear. So weight wise instead of being a 40/60 split front to back, it's probably more like a 70 front/ 30 rear split or more. This makes it tricky in the bends as well. The ferrari has quick rack and pinnion steering while the mustang could have that or worm and peg which is slighty less responsive. Two skilled driver could play cat and mouse all day with these two machines. In the end it's about the driver not the machine.
A lot of people seem to think that anything American will just fly off the road as soon as a corner comes up. They don't seem to realize that Mustangs were strong handlers by the standards of the day, and were world-class with minimal modification.
This chase reminds me of the story about a certain meeting Enzo Ferrari had with Henry Ford ... a meeting that led to the creation of the GT40.
Hey you got that right

They typically use the wrong engine sound for the Ferrari 308. they use the Testerossa V12 engine
Testarossa had a flat 12 not v12
@@tristanpage7339 In actual fact it is a 180° V12 because of the firing order and the way the pistons moves.
Homme_Simon
So... a flat 12. They are the same. What you’re thinking of is the misconception that a boxer 12 and a flat 12 are the same (they’re not).
The Testarossa is officially a V12, however it's illogical to call it such, as you wouldn't call this "____" a "V" would you!
Ferrari for me...if blonde included
In a BIKINI... YEAHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nice precision driving in 1.04!

RadialSkid
And you have things like the Corvette, the Saleen S7, and the Fiero that are great handling American cars.
The mustang was one of the Trans Am racing cars of the 60s and 70s and those cars were fast and handled in the corners.
@@RadialSkid mustang + handling.
You must be high on drugs.
Have You ever heard about European Cars?
