    8-10 Easy Cheese Scones
Yummy cheesy scones, best with butter when warm and great for lunch, snacks or lunch boxes!
    Ingredients
    • 450g of self-rising flour
    • A big pinch of salt
    • 2 tsp of baking powder
    • 110g cold butter, cut into small cubes
    • 240g of cheddar cheese, grated
    • 200ml milk
    How To Make:
    1. Heat your oven to 180c
    2. Sift the flour, salt and baking powder into a large bowl.
    3. Add the cubed butter to the bowl and rub it into the flour (rubbing is to rub the butter and flour between your fingers/hands) At the end it should look a bit like breadcrumbs.
    4. Sprinkle in the grated cheese and mix around with your hand so evenly spread out.
    5. Make a well (hole) in the middle of the flour with a spoon. Pour the milk into the well and mix together with a blunt knife by cutting it (see video)
    6. Once you have used the knife as much as you can you can use your hands to make it into a ball. If there are dry bits that aren’t sticking to the ball you can add a bit more milk.
    7. Sprinkle some flour on the worktop so the dough won’t stick and spread out the dough either by rolling or pressing gently until about 3cm thick.
    8. Cut out your scones using a round cutter and brush the tops with a little milk. Sprinkle the rest of the cheese on top.
    9. Place them on a baking tray and bake for 15-20mins keeping a close eye at the end to make sure they don’t burn!
    10. Cool on a cooling rack - Eat and enjoy!
