Nice !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have but 1 question. The ground cover makes it look like there are no ties for the rail. Was this on design? I have seen yards (in real life) that have the dirt come over the ties but haven't seen this in real life...
The ties are there. A little hard to see from this angle, but they're there. The ballast just covers them up for the most part. Helps keep the yard more or less level.
I wasn't being critical. I have seen the yard in Laramie Wyoming and there are parts of it that have the dirt over the ties. This is a part of the yard that does not get much use and work.
Oh, I didn't take it as criticism at all! I was saying that you can see the ties better from a higher angle than the video shows. The yard was done many years before I joined the club, so I'm not sure of exactly what they were going for at the time or if they were basing it on any prototype photos or just did what felt right.
The problem with can ride videos is you can see all the crappy parts not modeled since a viewer can't see them from the aisles. Not a criticism of your video of the layout.
