Watching this makes me cry because I watched your family for so many years,and witnesses a ton of love.I also watched Matt put the farm before you Amy.I think he loved you very much,but his dreams on the farm seemed to be for the kids and grandkids.That's admirable to a point,but I think Matt's constant push for a new construction project started to make Amy feel so weary.It's bittersweet because the Farm is a family legacy,but in the end,how we love will always be remembered...💞😪

Why would she feel good about signing away with her past . Matt is very cold person . He says that the land for his kids , but that’s not true . What does he know about what Amy thoughts are . Just because he did the business part of the farm she still spent 30 years doing her share of taking care of the kids . He’s self absorbed, self loving , now he has what his wants all the land ,Amy loved the land too .

Why am 'I' so gut wrenched by this story? I don't even know these people .. maybe only watched a part of one episode years ago when I was in Oregon on vacation. Maybe remembering my own childhood. Dunno. I'm half way through my 70s and still cry about my parents' divorce. 💔

Her hand has definitely been forced by Matt. He has treated her horribly for most of the years they have had their show. I hope she hasn’t lost the salsa business. She developed it! Matt was constantly using “their” money for his pet projects but had no patience or generosity for Amy’s! It is a sad situation!
@@ingridchapman9031 I remember Matt doing the renovations to the house and being exhausted and when it was done it turned to a trash heap. Amy had a multitude of excuses about being “too busy” to have her almost grown children pick up their rooms! She treated him horribly on multiple trips they took as a family, more than willing to prove to their children that she was the “fun parent” “the capable parent” no compassion for Matt at all. She hoarded so much stuff even Chris was questioning her about it. It took her years to separate her junk and move to a house that Chris will only ever be a guest in.

Matt is all about the money, and in all the years watching this programme, I saw no intimacy between him and Amy, and always felt she was under pressure all the time, since their divorce she looks so much better, relaxed and enjoying life, Matt is one of those men who will always need to be in control, and that's a killer in any marriage.

I don’t think Matt realized how amazing Amy was, until it was too late. I hope she finds peace and freedom in her new life. Chris seems like a man who will genuinely take care of her in all aspects.
This scene was very painful to watch. The same was true of the finale last year when Amy walked out of the farmhouse. She has been through a lot and for Matt to be glib is really well, it so Matt. The good news: Amy does not have to get into any tiffs with the kids, especially Zach and Jeremy, about the farm. She has her own home. I just hope she gets a prenup. Please, Amy!
Tbh Chris doesn't seem like the person who wants Amy just for money honestly. He seems down to earth and calm and caring. But in all honesty yeah it would be smart if she did that.

When he was a little kid, he has a lot of surgeries where they would break his bones and reset them. That is excruciatingly painful. And when he cried no one was there to console him. I guess that's where he learned not to cry because it wouldn't get him nowhere.Purposely ignoring kids can make them feel abandoned, rejected and alone, which is the exact opposite of how they want to be treated in their young years. This may also make them feel ostracized and unwanted. But he needs to retrain himself to feel emotion.According to Jan Hunt, Director of The Natural Child Project, ignoring a child's crying can actually harm their emotional development. When we ignore our children while they cry, they learn that we only care about them when they're happy. This may cause them to start masking their "negative" emotions or cause them to never learn how to appropriately respond to the negative feelings they experience.
Furthermore, ignoring your child's crying only teaches them the exact opposite of what we want them to learn about empathy and compassion. If our kid sees their cries ignored, they learn to do the same when other people express sadness, fear, or stress. This can lead to a lack of connection with others or even unhealthy relationships.
I respect Amy to a point but I went back and looked at some of the earlier and later episodes and Amy was very dominating and bossy.
Amy has always been good at criticizing Matt.....yes he did as well.....but please stop blaming everything on Matt.
If she is going to marry Chris then she needs to move on in a different direction.

I always thought Matt had a lot of ongoing health issues, chronic pain, and challenges with mobility. Hence the crutches. And on top of all this 4 kids and running a farm. Where did he get the energy to run around on his wife? Behind closed doors there must have been deep unhappiness.

Every since back in the day when the show first started I could see Amy’s anger towards mat, still don’t get what it is, but she needs to let it go, also for the sake of her kids and grand kids she doesn’t want to continue that negative attitude with their grandkids. I was Married to a dairy farmer for 24 years.To bad he couldn't see how a valued a person I was. To him I was just hired hand. And when I brought that up to him hr said he would've gotten rid of me along time ago. What a blow to a wife that was doing everything possible to keep the farm everything going.

It wasn't that a crappy guy wanted out, it wasn't all about the emotional affair he had entered, but WHO it was with. The nasty hag who worked for her (and Matt). Never mind it was going to play out on National TV.
It's life and Caryn made poor choices. She could have quit her job and tried to find a different non messy relationship. But, instead she chose to be hated or looked down upon.
Amy has more warmth in her heart than anyone in the family. She has everything in life she needs and then some. But, still will miss "the farm" *ONLY* because of all the "good memories" she had with her children there. The children who have grown and left and don't want much to do with the farm ... after being worked like mules their whole life to satisfy their father's every new adventure. (No wonder Matt rode Amy so hard the year before wanting a separation; he needed her to hurry up and finish all his projects on their farm so he could get on with securing his relationship with the hired stand there to nothing help.) God she's lucky to be out.
I want Amy to realize the farm is nothing now without her kids there. And, they are gone.
And, to see and enjoy the win - win for her. She doesn't have to be there ... ANYMORE. (No more than she cares to.) And, certainly not stuck there ... with Matt.
Seize The Day. Write a book. Paint. Partner up with a clothing line for little people. Make custom jewelry pieces & stockings to sell at Christmas booths.
But, mostly enjoy Chris. Plant flowers, cook, enjoy warm cozy fires or pool parties.
Change can be scary. But, don't worry about the rain when one has the rainbow & pot of gold.
In the end Caryn wanted to secure her future by owning the farm. Good luck with that. She'll be an old lady by herself with a lot of land, chores and way in over her head some day. Oh, well.
Amy will be sipping wine in front of her fireplace inside a beautiful home with a wonderful husband.

Its amazing....Amy did everything in the day to day with the kids and Matt got to come and go as he pleased and do as he pleases and looks like through bullying. For Matt to say the farm was not as important to Amy was just not fair. As usual women put in all the time taking care of family and the man gets all the praises for the work done on the farm. I find it all so condescending how everyone treats Amy. She should be sad and angry with having to leave a place she thought she would be at forever. At least she is getting financially compensated.

I remember watching this family for the first time on TLC. I thought, what a wonderful place to live and hand off to family in their elder years. But I think Matt's mind became too gradiose and pushed others to the side before he realized it was too late. Now everyone has to move on. So to Amy and all of the Roloffs....Life is what you make it. So make it good!
IMO they both have very strong personalities & that's why it didn't work out. If it doesn't work out & there's always arguments, disagreements, etc. it's time to move on. Stopped watching this show a long time ago, it was just too much drama with both of them. They took the spotlight from their kids & their lives.

I think Karen will be a very nice StepGrandma - however, I think behind the slight smirk she usually wears, there is a wish to be the Queen of the Farm. I hope that Zak and Tori don’t get hurt a few years down the road. They are really nice kids with a nice family, good values etc. I really thought his brother would end up with the farm and make it grow, but…..and I always got the feeling the little red headed wife was holding him back a bit. It’s certainly big enough that both the boys could have a nice house and run it together.

I think Amy would feel a lot better if the kids spoke up to their father and supported Amy with her feelings of betrayal. It’s hard. But I don’t blame the kids. He is still their father. Children even those who have a nurturing loving mother will often show lack of respect to the mother when there is no positive father figure to model and enforce that respect for her. Zach has watched how his dad disrespects his mother for many years and he is taking a cue from that.

@@Abdulilah.. She said that she found inappropriate text messages between him and another woman who worked at the farm. But she didn't say if they have had sex yet. So if they hadn't had sex when she caught them then, that means that Matt was probably her only relationship in her life and she's never had to go through real couple problems. You just can't divorce someone over text messages. Because she was probably doing something wrong. Amy is the type to not say things. And Matt is extremely passive aggressive which I HATE so much in men. She needed to tell him something like "Listen you smurf! You better fire that whore like a mangey dog on the streets and you will never again deal with the management of the farm because I will take everyone over from now on, you have nothing!" and have him do anything she said as a punishment. She had 30 years and 3 kids from that man she couldn't just let a Jezebel win. EVEN IF she ended up divorcing later on down the road over something else. But not let another woman break up your family. That's what the devil wanted and she let him win. My cousin gave me that advice one time and it's gold.
