Growing up 1980's Newark, the only other music i heard ,besides rock or r&b ,was Spanish. It wasn't til i went to Job Corps, upstate New York (SHOUT OUT input # 185 ) that i first heard (and fell in love with) Jamaican music. And that was in the age of Boom Boxes ,so i HEARD IT heard it !!! Sometimes 24 hours a day (depending on who you shared a room with and or which dorm you were assigned to , some had More Jamaican than others)
