Terrific song! "Time of the Season" is also a classic by The Zombies. However, Rod Argent left the band to create the amazing Argent, which created some of the greatest Prog Rock music ever, especially on their Circus album, but they are best known for their hits, Argent's biggest hit being the classic '70s track "Hold Your Head Up," which is one of the greatest songs ever. ALWAYS react to the long version of HYHU. You will put it immediately on your playlist, it's that stinking great! Argent, my man! ❤✌

@@stratocruising "Thunder and Lightning" and "Man For All Reasons" are also great, radio friendly songs, but "Circus" "Trapeze" and "Clown" from the Circus album are Prog foundations for future bands, sounding more like Prog from the late '90s or '00s than the mid '70s.

Another one of the great British bands from the 60's. Their biggest hits were "She's Not There", "Tell Her No", "I Love You" & "Time Of The Season". Some other songs by the group are "Woman", "I Remember When I Loved Her", "The Way I Feel Inside", "I Can't Make Up My Mind", "I Don't Want To Know", "What More Can I Do" etc. Their 1968 album Odessey & Oracle is really great!

"Canned audience" is the sound of laughter or applause in live shows, where the sound is taped and played, so a laugh track or applause track, rather then the actual audience. You hear it in many live recorded TV shows in the 60s, where the audience response might have been quiet, but the producers put the sound of people laughing at the end of a joke or funny scene, or applause at the end of a scene.

Canned Audience is a prerecored audience of people recored clapping, laughing, cheering, etc. ~ In early TV sitcoms they often added "laugh tracks" of prerecored audiences. as the show was filmed without a live audience. In this song on teen TV show "Hulaballo" the performance was lip synced by the Zombies from the studio recording.

Colin Blunstone voice is unbelievable and he has recorded solo albums as well as singer for the Alan Parsons Project. Rod Argent produced Colins solo albums as well as writing songs for him. I suggest you listern to "Old and Wise" which is very emotional song and highlights Colin's supreme tone and phrasing. The Zombies (never really broke up) have recorded new albums over the last few years. As a side note Santana did a cover version on their Moonflower album which with deeper depth of instruments is superb just a great song.

So cool, so smooth. Merged a pop sensibility with a distinct R&B edge - the start of a sound that would become "Northern soul" (the UK equivalent of the US's "Blue-eyed soul"), even though they weren't from the north of England where many of that movement's bands came from. "Time of the Season" is their other main masterpiece (and contains one of the best pick-up brags in history!) "A Rose for Emily" shows their softer side and is another great track, as is the role-reversing "Care of Cell 44", which was startling in it's time.

_The Zombies_ are so much more than the 3 hit singles they are known for --- they had a great, melodic and mysterious baroque sound that fused together with the more popular pop style of the early _Beatles_ to form something special and unique --- their later stuff, recorded in 1967 but released in 1968 on their _Odyssey and Oracle_ album is simply poetic and ethereal. Try any of the songs below, these are just a sampling, there are many others --- most are unknown, but all are great. The fist song on the list you just heard and #14 is an absolute must that you must react to next if you haven't already --- but as I said, even their secondary, unknown tracks are worthwhile. Truly special artists that unfortunately never received the recognition they deserved.

I really appreciate your effort to look up some background and getting the basic context of the songs you react to.
I'm was professional musician 40 years ago that ventured into Progressive Rock. One of the bands that inspired me was the post Zombies collaboration; Argent, with former Zombies Bass player Chris White as producer/songwriter and Rod Argent's Cousin Jim Rodford on Bass who wrote a song called; Music of the Spheres. As a young musician in the 1970's this particular song had a profound, positive affect on me. Jim Rodford would join The Zombies when they regrouped in the 2000's.
About 10 years ago I rediscovered The Zombies and was blown away by their new recordings and they became my Favorite Band. The Zombies and Argent were two bands that became very popular with; and influenced many other musicians. Hence the reason why The Zombies are in the RRHF, with only 3 hit singles; They were that influential and inspiring.
If you could react to: Music of the Spheres by Argent, or A Moment in Time by The Zombies, I think you'd enjoy either song and so would many of your Subscribers. ✌🤘 🎶 from 🇨🇦

There was a time after 1964 that whenever an ear-catching new song came on the radio, you would think it was a new Beatles song. They were The Mustangs before the name change to The Zombies, which some members didn't know what a zombie was. The NBC TV Show, Hullabaloo which aired in early primetime on Tuesday and then Monday, it had a different guest host every week and featured popular musical acts of the day, ABC had a similar show called Shindig! Time Of The Season was another big hit for The Zombies. Even now, their unique and iconic sound catches the listener's attention and doubtless will forevermore, based on your reaction. :)
