Welcome back Scotty, let me get this straight so that I understand, CHECK 👍all four TIRES 👌and SLAP 👋the HOOD 😲a few times is there a correct?🤣GOOD! 🧰🙌👍🍺
Back in the days of full service gas stations, I was traveling cross country, and stopped for gas. The attendant checked the tire pressure and was concerned it was 50 PSI. I just looked at him and said that is about right. My van had D load range tires with max pressure of 60 PSI. Recommended tire pressure was 45.
How to check your tires by kicking if you can kick them really hard and it doesnt hurt they need more pressure. If you barely tap it and it explodes you dont have to worry anymore....... Not for the tire reason
I rotate my tires every oil change and check the pressures. Check them more often during seasonal changes. I use a calibrated gauge I used to use on my race car’s tires.
Actually check tires a few hours after driving and at night if car is outside of the garage. Tires could heat up from sun load. If in a garage, just give it 3 to 4 hours for engine, exhaust, and tires to cool down.
I've lost a few tires over the years due to low pressure. Felt something off, but tire was shredded by the time I pulled over. Haven't had an issue with newer cars, in fact TMPS (while not perfect) has saved at least a couple of tires on my vehicles. A patch is waaay cheaper than a good quality tire.
In Brooklyn (NYC) when you would ask the guys at the station to check your tires he would walk around the car and give each one a kick and say they’re fine. Lmfao!!! True story! 😂😂😂
Even though all vehicles 2008 and newer in the US are required by LAW to have TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System), its still a good idea to check. The threshold is usually 25%. That's a lot.
Wholeheartedly agree. Check them cold, and ensure they aren't below the minimum. I personally also check them hot and make sure they aren't above the max, but thats optional.
Definitely check cold in the morning or night. On a hot summer, I checked and topped off the tires about 12pm before a road trip. About 30 miles into the trip, I blew a tire because I didn’t compensate for the “hotter rolling air pressure” in the tire. So much for, “the man of the trip” to check everything!😅
CHECK YOUR DOOR JAM TIRE INFO! 2/3 vehicles I have require different front / back psi. Take my 2020 toyta corolla 33 front, 30 back! Given 3 psi isn't much but I can sure feel the ride difference if the back is 33 psi!
