My fiance has been in the hospital since Sept 1st. On the 3rd Sept he was sent to a larger hospital and last night sent to an even bigger hospital. His symptoms started Aug 14 when I took him to our local hospital and they sent him home telling him he more than likely had lung cancer and gave him a bag of fluid and a 10 day supply of Levaquin with 1 week off from work. He was told to see a lung specialist in 2 weeks. He didn't get better only worse. Please get a second opinion if someone you know doesn't get better, don't wait. He now has infection in his heart and needs surgery and has been on 4 different iv antibiotics. I pray that OSU can help him because Cleveland Clinic didn't have room for him. We have 11 yr old twin boys who misses him everyday as do I. I'm very happy and it also gives me hope knowing that you Susan is a survivor ❤ Thank you

I didn’t know anything about sepsis or septic shock. I had to do my own research after spending two months in the hospital. Not even my surgeons or doctors mentioned it. If I hadn’t come across sepsis alliance, I would be forever lost and have no idea. Praying for you🙏🏻

Some three years ago I had not been well then had projectile vomiting the rest I cannot remember my husband phoned for an ambulance which took me to A&E I remember nothing for the next five days, the consultant told me how ill I had been. I was so lucky that my husband realised how ill I was and on reaching hospital the doctors realised it was sepsis, I once had a very good memory but not so good now but I got off lightly compared to many.

I do hope you’re doing better now? it doesn’t matter if you had mild symptoms or not everybody’s story is so vitally important and almost 5 years later my memory my cognitive skills my motor skills they’re just ruined. I can’t even keep Jobs. It’s really scary life after sepsis sometimes.

I apologize for just responding now. Thank you for the compliment. It took me a long time to try to be presentable and all this time later I am still not OK. I don’t think I’ll ever be the same again but so grateful for Sepsis alliance for all they do! I hope you’re doing well🙏🏻
