  • In this video, Michael from Alarm Grid shows you how to set an Alarm.com ADC-T2000 Z-Wave Plus Thermostat back to its factory default settings. The Alarm.com ADC-T2000 can be paired with almost any Z-Wave or Z-Wave Plus controller for inclusion with a smart home network. If you pair it with a Z-Wave-compatible alarm panel that is set up with an interactive platform like Alarm.com or Total Connect 2.0, then you will also be able to control it with that service as well. This includes the ability to configure smart scenes for the thermostat so that it activates automatically with certain predetermined system events, or on a set time-based schedule.
There are certain situations where you may want to set the Alarm.com ADC-T2000 Smart Thermostat back to its factory default settings. This is also referred to as a factory reset for the thermostat. If you are selling the thermostat, giving it away to someone else, or leaving it behind in your home when you are moving, then you may factory reset the thermostat so that the next user can start fresh with default settings, rather than working with whatever settings you were using with the device when it was under your ownership.
You may also perform a factory default if the thermostat is not working properly, and all other troubleshooting methods for the device have proven unsuccessful. Once you have performed a factory default or factory reset for the ADC-T2000 Z-Wave Thermostat, it cannot be undone. All the settings and configurations for the thermostat will be reset to how they were when the thermostat was brand-new and fresh out of the box. You will need to reprogram and reconfigure the thermostat from scratch. It is also likely that you will need to re-integrate it with your Z-Wave controller so that it is back on your smart home network.

Thanks bud. I got one of these from a friend and didn't know how to connect it to our system. I figured I need to reset it and didn't know how. You helped me with your instructions. Now I'm all set up and programmed. Thanks again.

Question I have a older furnace with a newer thermostat. With the older furnace the fan can spin backwards to make it run in ac for summer. To change the thermostat to a.c. I have to change a setting to just turn on the fan to on and let it run with no temperature adjust. Then for heat in the winter I need to turn it back to auto then I can only adjust the heat. How would this thermostat work for me or what kind of modifications could I do. Would love this for the summer insted of leaving the furnace running all day at home when at work so I can just use the app. Thanks

If it doesn't power on after new battery sadly it will need to be replaced.

Is a factory reset required if we think that recalibration of the thermostat is required? Is there any alternative?

Question? I have been having major problems w/ mine and i have it set to 50° to cool down on the regular air temp, then for heat & Ac I have it set to 50° then heat alone I have set to 35° but my place continues to stay at 74-77°! I have a dog and we’re literally dying from it being so hot in the house. What do I do? B/c I can’t continue to live in a 80° house with an almost $200 electric bill when it’s not doing anything to cool the house down. Should I reset the thermostat? I rent an apartment will that affect it at all? Pls help me

Nevermind just went to check my fuse box, I’ve had issues w/ my damn neighbor and it looks like she took my fuse out of the AC box then put it in upside down and backwards. Thought it was weird that my outside AC machine wasn’t working or anything. Calling the office on her tomorrow. Completely ridiculous
